Thank you so much lovely people for Birthday wishes. Mr V and I don't do gifts or cards but this year for some reason he has sent me one. One from my Mum and one from my bin monitor/ knitting neighbour.
The weather is still dry here, luckily for the big shed sort out...again. I have 3 things in the shed, apparently these things are what makes the shed messy. A door which stands against the wall, a folded up butlers tray and a folded up mobility walker. Opening the door and chucking stuff in apparently isn't what makes it a mess at all, just my stuff. Sayin nowt, the shed and it's lack of putting stuff away is not my department. Fingers crossed that this tidy will yield loadsa stuff to go.
DSS has brought his GF. A bit awkward as my cleaner comes today. I was just going to sit in the car and knit. I will have to think of a plan B.

Hi all, yesterday I took the opportunity while it was not raining to do a bit more chopping in the garden and another bag full was squashed into the bin. It is now full to the top but won't be emptied until next week so anything else I chop will have to go to the tip. The downside was my back started creaking so the floor didn't get mopped. The bathroom bin and lr bin were emptied again so something must have been thrown away 😂. I was at the football last night but I the washing up before I left so the kitchen was clean when I left the house. It was gone midnight by the time I got home as the footy went to extra time and penalties and unfortunately we lost 😪. Just fell into bed after I had had something to eat 😁.
@Vulpix Happy birthday, are you doing anything nice?Sounds like a plan with your Mum's house being a stop gap if needed so at least your house sale won't be held up 😁. Shame about the weather in Shetland . As for the black trousers exactly why do you need to walk, talk, sit or breathe 😂 I am sure you'll make it into them in time for your trip, you know you can do it 😁. My weight loss is slow but while in the garden the other day my old trousers actually fell down as I was carrying stuff to the bin 😂. Hope the visit from DSS goes well, 2 people to get distracted by mysterious things 😂
@Florenceem sorry to hear Mr F is having problems again, hugs
@Mrs SD that's a nice haul for the cs, I particularly like the earrings 😁. For years I only wore little silver hoops as they were the safest thing in work but I am making a concerted effort to change them around now to see what I like and maybe pass a few pairs on 😁. I need to get some plastic backs though as I have a tendancy to lose earrings, I have so many single ones I thought about getting one ear pierced again 😂. Brilliant work on catching up with the cheerleading 😁
@weenancyinAmerica re shops running out of matches, could it be something to do with them coming from Canada, tarffs etc and people stock piling? All it takes is a rumour of a shortage and people go mad, we had a similar thing here with toilet rolls, well lots of things really, at the start of covid. I expect there are people still using uo their stocks 😂. About the poorly cat, a lot of adult cats are lactose intolerant as they don't have enough lactase in their system, some can tolerate a small amount so this might be the problem. If you can try to just give the cheese as a treat to the cat that can tolerate it 😁.
@mehefinI love the idea of your horse drawn vehicle, you never know you might get an animal that fits in the future 😁. I can understand why you are reluctant to let it go.
@Happy_Kitties what a nice thing to do for people ending up in hospital with no toiletries. It must make a big difference for them
@QueenJess I have absolute faith in you getting to net zero by the end of the year, you are a marvel at this 😁
Right I have to pop to the sm, I have a list 😂 and will get the mopping done when I get back and maybe a couple of other things if the back holds out 😁
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Happy Birthday @vulpix 🎁🎂🎉
i didn't do any decluttering on Monday as it's grocery shopping day. I had to go to a couple of shops for different bits as well as dropping ds off to uni and fetching him later so I was too tired to do much when we got home.
Yesterday I was making a present for ds to give to one of his friends as a birthday present. He has some other bits to give her as well. Ds had an orthodontist appointment that I took him to as it's an awkward place to get to. I don't go in, I just wait outside in the car but it still takes time. After that I went to H****craft for some jump rings as I currently have no idea where mine are. It worked out well as the ones that I bought are better than the ones that I had/have. Total decluttered Tuesday = 1.
Today I'm sorting my wardrobes. I've stopped in the middle for our lunchbreak (ds is home today) so I won't give you the count yet as I have more things to try on or take a good hard look at. I'll be back later to update you all - bet you can't wait 😂😂😂
@Dizzycap babyface is so cute. When I saw her photo I did think "that's a harder stare than a Paddington Bear stare". I imagine that she is a very efficient trainer of humans 😊
@Florenceem thinking of you and hoping that Mr F is not going the same way as last time. The hospital never really got to the bottom of it did they?15 -
Just moved my bedroom furniture around AGAIN.
I think this must be about 20 times since I moved in around 4 years ago.
That's it now - never moving it again.
Waiting on the dogs coming home from their walk with the dog walker then I'll have a quick shower and head out to run my errands.
Hope you're all having a good day.Debt Free - 4th June 202517 -
- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday: the weather has definitely turned - overcast & drizzly with a high of 8°C & a low of 3°C Although I am happy that the warm weather we had got the hyacinths to full bloom 😊 Forgot to mention that DSis & I watched the final of Dancing on Ice 2025. Quite emotional as it was Torvill & Dean’s last televised skate & by all accounts it might very well be the last DOI ☹️
I am now only a day behind on the cheerleading as I am starting to reply to Tuesday’s posts 😁
Excellent decluttering 2Scratters & very impressed that you have continued to take items out of the loft on every visit 👏 Remember to take before & after photos of drawers, cupboards etc. just to remind yourself how far you have come 😊 Good luck with the car boot sales 🍀
Yoshimi2025, good luck with the garage decluttering 🍀 It sounds like once you have returned every one else’s ‘stuff’ to them you will have an empty garage 😊 Exciting times ahead with your planned refurbishment of the garage into a craft room/extended hallway 🥳 I am putting in an early request for photos 😉 Fingers crossed that your spider catcher wasn’t needed too often 🤞
Lovely cheerleading Moorviews 😊 Surprisingly DH has more of an issue with his hands when he is driving the car (he has a tendency to grip the steering wheel too tightly 😥 although I have noticed that he is getting a lot better the more he drives 😊) rather than riding his motorbike 🤨 Excellent work decluttering outside tasks 👏 you have definitely made the most of the sunshine 😊 The underlined part of This “Shopping has been pretty under control as I don’t like it much although I did enjoy some browsing in the city last week. It was quite fun looking at things I will never buy, like thousand pounds coffee machines” did make me smile 😀 Good luck dealing with your financial frogs 🍀
Breaking off to say that the sun has come out & most of the clouds have disappeared…. at least for a while 😉 DH is filling the bird feeders prior to popping out on the bike to pick up some milk. I had temporarily cancelled our milk deliveries & had slightly miscalculated how quickly we would use the 4 x 2l containers 🙊 Next delivery is tomorrow & we only have enough milk for 2 drinks
I was full of good intentions about catching up with the cheerleading but feeling slightly ‘off’ so will post now & come back later. Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 😊

vulpix - Happy Birthday.
When I phoned the local referral unit about Mr F yesterday - I asked them to ring on my phone. Mr F told me last night that a nurse rang him while I was out and said - I hear there is a problem. Mr F said that she was meant to phone again in 20 minutes - no call. However today the nurse who spoke to Mr F turned up at the door - said she was concerned - she came in and checked him over - all his obvs are fine. Nurse told me to take Mr F to the Dr about his confusion.
Yesterday afternoon I got Mr F ready to go in a taxi to the surgery - 5 minutes before the taxi is due - he says - I want to go to toilet so I said - you can't now - as I know how long he takes. I said - wait until we get to the surgery. The taxi was late arriving but we arrived on time and the nurse was said to be running to time as well.
We sat there waiting for half an hour - this was a man who was desperate to use the toilet before we left home. Then just before we were called in by the nurse - Mr F went in the toilet. He didn't lock the door - a poor woman got a fright when she went to visit the loo. I said to Mr F why didn't you lock the door - he said - I thought you were following me! While we waited for Mr F to come out of the toilet - I told the nurse what had been going on. She said - see the Dr for a dementia test.
Anyway - Mr F came out of the toilet and had the ECG. Nurse said - to sit and wait - we would either be told that it was okay and we could go home or it would be off to A & E. Doctor popped out to say that we could go home.
At bedtime - I said to Mr F - well you won't need to sit on the toilet tonight as you went at the Drs - he replied - no I won't. I got into bed and he sat on the loo - I fell asleep.

So made it to the bank and the shops. Met my sister so the rest of my plans for the afternoon got derailed but that's alright. Got to see my niece and nephew and also my great nephew - had a wee play in the park.
@MrsSD - I haven't watched that in years but I do love Torvill and Dean. They are touring in Glasgow this year. Just had a wee look and it's in May - might get some tickets for me and Mum cos I would love to see them. Hope you feel better soon.@Yoshimi2025 - Eggxellent decluttering..................see what I did there ;-)Debt Free - 4th June 202517 -
Moorviews - I don't think the stress of Mr F is helping my recovery.
I decided not to attend friendship/lunch club today as I run around doing so much - I am the bossy organiser. I said to Mr F - that I didn't feel up to going - later he put his teeth in - I asked why - he replied - for lunch club - either he didn't hear or forgot.
Chemist delivered new pairs of compression stockings for Mr F this morning.
We were meant to be going to a funeral at our old Church after lunch club. It was streamed so we were watching when the door bell went. A chap had brought a tub of dinner and one of pudding plus a big vase of flowers from my friend at SA lunch club. So no cooking for me tomorrow - we are having - roast potatoes, carrots, brocolli and gammon followed by apple crumble and custard.
I finished the curtains and linings today and have cut out the tie backs and interfacing plus applied it.
Mr F is trying to do something on his computer but the sounds coming down the stairs don't herald success.
