Hi,
I am sorry to hear about your dog Charlies tribe and your Grandsons continued illness. xxx
I am sorry to hear about your friend Florenceem.xxx
So, a sort out of my clothes in the chest of drawers happened. 2 bags will be off to the charity shop containing trousers, tops, jumpers, hoodies. 20 items in total. Of the things I bought yesterday I am only keeping the trousers. I am trying to wear more of my clothes instead of the same few things in rotation.
A pair of new slippers given to DD2. Also gave her 2 Tom and Jerry mugs. Some new mugs will come in when I see some I like. We just seem to only have exceptionally ugly mugs or difficult to drink from mugs at the moment.
Far more things leaving the house than have come in recently. I must admit to snaffling a pretty biscuit tin when I went to see my Mum. I will send it down South with biscuits and flapjack when my son visits in March.
I have 2 important frogs to eat that I just don't want to do. I will attempt them next week. One is contacting DVLA about not being able to drive. You have to do this then they send you for an eye test to see if you have enough peripheral vision to be able to drive again.
Take care Vx:18 -
No decluttering, however didn't want to not post to say I'm so sorry for the losses.

My sympathies to all with sad news. No real decluttering yesterday apart from money to buy more paint, rollers etc. I have to do some frogs this morning after taking DGCs to school. Looks like I need to defrost the car. Meeting this afternoon - speaker is from one of the TV antiques programmes - always very popular. I managed to get storage box out to shed last night but I need to clean in there as lots of cobwebs and I was going to line floor with those rubber mats. It is brick built and has power and lighting and a double glazed window. My plan is to use it for garden furniture accessories, the tumble dryer and a small chest freezer. No water on that side of the house so not a proper utility room. The other shed built of block and rendered will be for garden tools etc - still some rubbish in there to go.
The green in front of the house has areas of crocuses, snowdrops and daffodils. I have a few crocuses in the way of the drive work so I will dig them up and plant in the flower area nearest my house. A former resident planted them. He was a volunteer locally and they were clearing land for building work and he asked if he could take the bulbs to plant in a public area. I do love the early spring flowers - a promise of spring and summer. I have a small tree out the back - not sure what it is - I'll take a picture of the blossom and post. I intend to keep the tree but will probably reduce its height as getting a bit tall. I am going to allow myself one mark for ramming a bag of old wallpaper into top of my bin which is due for collection today.

@Florenceem so sorry for the loss of your friend and @charlies-tribe for the loss of your dear furry friend. I hope you both find some comfort in your memories.14

@vulpix I’m so sorry about the frog you have to eat, do I understand correctly that you’ll no longer be able to drive? That is massive and must feel very scary and overwhelming if that’s the case. Be gentle with yourself if it is, making that phone call will be hard and brave xDecluttering Challenge 2025/1483

Hi all
happy to report I am racing along!! Planned gain of cardboard storage boxes has meant that I’ve sorted through many of the books (never read, but from OHs family). They will go in the loft. Have a bag for CS already and another for paper recycling. Have been through old magazines that had been lying around and taken what still holds interest.
Have gone through my freezers and then menu planned and created shopping list - saved self about £10 due to things I already had. Will declutter bin bag of used plastic bags (from bread, veg and fruit etc) to plastic recycling in supermarket later. The little bit I’ve done (;and the temporary chaos it’s created) has already made me feel lighter. Over the weekend I’m repainting windowsills and hoping to get into the garden to start planting veg seeds.Sorry to hear about those who have loved and lost. Condolences. Have a lovely day everyone and enjoy some sunshine if you have it.Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.18 -
Thank you Yoshimi. I had a blood clot in the main artery in my left eye about a month ago. I was told by the consultant not to drive but I wouldn't until I have adapted more. I have a small amount of sight at the bottom of the eye but it is distorted and perception is changed. I see shadows that are not there which until I adjust I am not sure it would be safe to drive. I wouldn't want to swerve for something imaginary and hit something real!
I think I will have a sort out of the freezer too. I feel something in the slow cooker coming on.

I have just got back from the nurse appointment and I got a nasal spray for my sinuses. She said my blood pressure was perfect so that was good.
My purple cardigan has suddenly developed holes so I put it on my cat's bed as it has been chilly lately. It was from a charity shop, but I did like it. I am going out at the weekend to London as it is my birthday and I have made up another donation bag to take tomorrow, mostly clothes.14 -
Hi all, quite a good day yesterday, the back lasted ok until the evening and feels ok this morning 😁. I managed to get 2 LDFPA, 1 from the maiden and 1 from the line 😁. I have 2 more loads still on the line as it is forecast to be sunny again 😁 so should be dry today. I have to say it's lovely to see the sun after what feels like years of miserable greyness 😂. Also 2 sessions of ironing done, the top of the fridge freezer cleared. I found a bottle rack thing up there that we have never used so into the recycling it went. I am not even sure if it came with this fridge freezer as I couldn't see how it would go in so why it was kept who knows 😂 but out of sight except when I get the step ladders out to clean the high places 😁. The kitchen recycling was also emptied and 300 emails permanently deleted 😁. I was hoping I would have an email to say I could get tickets for Wembley but no luck there 😪.
Today I have the dentist and I am hopefully going to deliver the green baby blanket so that will be something else sorted 😁
@Florenceem well done getting those curtains done and good luck with the next pair 😁. Sorry to hear about your friend, hugs
@charlies_tribe so sorry to hear your dgs is still not well, it must be very worrying, hugs. Also sorry to hear about your dog but I am sure he had a good and happy life with you, hugs. Your comment about the jigsaws made me laugh. I had a similar experience at work when one of the kids decided to empty the jigsaws cupboard. It took us ages to sort that out 😂.
@Dizzycap I only posted the information about saccharin from the diabetic uk website because I thought it was interesting. I was not suggesting you use it. I don't use it because I don't like the taste. I think different people react in different ways to all sorts of things we eat and drink and what works for one doesn't work for another, everybody has to find what is right for them, for example coffee can cause both high blood pressure and low blood pressure in different people while having no effect on others, it's just interesting, not a recommendation 😁. I would also be interested in your free Christmas 😁.
@weenancyinAmerica nice to see you, please take care of yourself. I totally agree about your President, hugs
@Vulpix yes I am trying to wear different things, mainly to see if I really do still like them and they still fit 😂, hopefully some will head to the cs at some point 😂. The driving thing is a real downer for you, especially knowing where you live and the dearth of public transport. Luckily you have Mr V to chauffeur while it is sorted but I do hope the eye test goes well, big hugs.
@GrannyKate I also love the spring bulbs, particularly snow drops 😁. Well done to the former resident for rescuing those bulbs 😁.
I have been distracted by a neighbour's car who is sitting in the sun guarding the bird feeder and thinking she is invisible 😂. The birds in my garden are far too clever for her 😂.
@esmf73 just a thought about the books, do you think you will read them at some point in the future ? Inherited things are very difficult to deal with 😁
Right time to get weaving, the post has arrived and needs to be dealt with 😁
Hugs to everyone who would like one.
