Should have gone to the supermarket today. Instead I spent the day decluttering and making up beds for guests. No potatoes, only crusts of bread, no onions, mushrooms, veg or fruit. Spent day decluttering and making up beds for guests instead. Beans on toasted crusts for us on valentine's day. Reminds me of when we were first married 49 years ago and couldn't afford much more. Normally on occasions like these we would ring for a takeaway but we are planning a big holiday for our 50th wedding anniversary and 70th birthdays next year. Feeling smug?😇

Well it's been a very busy couple of daysWoke up very early for the past 2 mornings and completed all the usual HH rubbish bin decluttering along with spraying and wiping over anything and everything in the kitchen and washing the kitchen floor and mats which have finally dried and been put back. Usual recyling wheelie bin collection today, so put out last night and back in by 8.30am - Nice!Dusted and hoovered through the house, although you wouldn't think so with babyface charging around with the crazies and baby hunting games. She's been out for a walk today but certainly not without her Harris Tweed coat on - It's absolutely perishing here and it's got to snow at some point!Babyface2 has been as good as gold on her outings and was very eager to go out this morning - She was full of fruit-loop crazies and her running speed is absolutley fantastic!
My friend said that her sister took babyface2 for an extra walk yesterday afternoon and she absolutely hated it - oh, the face when she got back. The "I'm not amused" scowl
and she wouldn't stop howling!
Typical daxie as they show and tell you exactly what they think
- I couldn't stop laughing
I've stopped listing on V*nt as it keeps being hackedI've listed a few items on eby and had 3 bins and 5 bids, so happy with that
Decluttered 3 parcels and recycled packaging out of the house to postie this morning but my printer had a nervous breakdown at the end of printing up the last RM label last night. The cogs jammed for no reason and they had collasped when I looked
I finished packing my last parcels and put them in the RM collection crate in the hallway - Yes, RM have given me a collection crate as it's easier (for them!
), and I decided to take babyface for her evening walk before thinking about what to do about the defunct printer. What do you think the odds are of a neighbour asking you as you're walking by "Are you in need of a working printer as I'm about to load this into the car to take to the recycling centre tomorrow morning?" let alone it being the exact same model as the one that's just stopped working
- I was a little speechless at first but welcomed the kind offer and I agreed a swap. Working printer in place and old clapped out version decluttered out of the house all by 9.30pm!
- I feel really blessed
I'm now decluttering a lovely large cup of coffee after another busy day of sorting through another stock pile of items from the dreaded mega wardrobe and listing some, bagging and filling the dolly trolly with some, and others I'm still not sure about, so I'll leave those until I have a flash of inspiration to either go mad on photographing them and listings them in the middle of the night if I have a bad night, give them to people I know, or off to the charity shop in the dolly trolly, hopefully tomorrow morningI've got no parcels to pack or go out tomorrow - famous last words, so I'm going to have an early night with some good old comedy and a donated double pack of Jaffa Cakes & Starbucks coffee sachets - sounds like a great plan

Evening all. Trying to rid the house of some of the dust as a few days reprieve before the next work which should be less messy. Builder came round - one was the 'boy' who got the grotty jobs 13 years ago when his dad built our extension at old house. He seemed to be in charge now - the older man with him remembered my late DH and the extension they built. They say they can remove the cupboard and wall suggested by kitchen fitters. ROD is now plastered and ready for coving and skirting boards. Price has increased a bit which is fine as the ceiling and walls were a nightmare and they needed more time and materials. I just hope the other rooms aren't as bad. I paid for the windows and will pay the plasterer tomorrow.
DS2 has gone to Lake District and GCs are with their mum. I seemed to have filled up the diary for next week. Must do some frogs tomorrow afternoon after meeting in the morning.
261 Decluttered cost of windows
262 DIL sold a second mirror for me and I collected £10 - used to top up some payments on my 1p challenge
263 Decluttered steamer kit into a new storage box - cardboard box had fallen apart so into recycling
264 Swept plaster dust from bedroom floor and wiped windows - will need a scraper for some dried plaster. Sox seems to have laid a claim to the bedroom and insisted on sitting in middle of floor whilst I was sweeping. He then had his afternoon sleep on the plastic wrapped single futon which is the only thing in the room.
265 Metal oddments including lots of old window keys to recycling
266 Large bag of wallpaper to tip
267 Money decluttered to hairdresser, chiropodist and made first payment on monthly pet plan
268 Banking done

The train sped on for over 30 pages!
Well done on everyone's decluttering. It's nice to see the enthusiasm everyone had in January still at play mid February.
I've taken a fair amount to the CS, but they aren't accepting comics. I went in Jan and they are fairly full near me. But most things I could part with. Had to go to three shops though.
I sold 2 things on ebay. Nice to get a small amount of cash for some items, but I won't be selling any more. It can be a bit troublesome. Plus the time. Probably don't have many clothes worth selling anyway.
The only thing we have that we will sell when we are finished with, is DS's pram/push chair as it will no doubt sell for a substantial amount. It was a gift.
The changing table will go soon. He's 4! We won't take it to the new house.
Some people have collected some things from the house.
I cleared some clothes from built in wardrobe. Had a wholy pair of jeans in there! It would be really cool to weigh things. Is anyone doing that currently?
House purchasing doesn't seem to be proceeding as fast as the EDT, but seems to be progressing nonetheless. Hopefully completing by the end of Feb.
Been extremely busy with work. Declutering needs to ramp up, and packing is probably imminent. I'll take a week off the move week but probably only 2 dsys of that will be pre move, so I need to be quite sorted before then.
Had some removal quotes. Think we are going with the company that visited today.
Doing our first junior park run on Sunday. Looking forward to that.
I saw mention of a meet up in London. Has that happened yet? Hope you had a lovely time if so.19 -
Been low on energy last couple of days so frogs left well alone. Carried on with reading pile and deleting emails. Kitchen windowsill nearly clear and more of kitchen worktop appearing. Wanted to do some batch cooking but it’ll have to wait until the oomph comes back.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅17

oceanspirit - I so feel for you and totally understand that low energy & fatigue feeling and effect. It's really beyond wordsI wrote a whole post and MSE decided to wipe it out as I posted - not going to bother writing it all out again, so you'll have to guess what's been happening in the world of decluttering here and the 2 babyfacesI'm waiting for a wash load to finish before decluttering it onto the drying rack before getting dressed and taking babyface for a walk as it's not too cold and she's up and asking for demanding one!As it seems to be a bad night for sleep for me, I'm going to take a whole load of pictures of items I want to list and start listing them until I feel tired enough to get back into bed for some more rest and sleep.Good night all xxxx~ NSD 2025 - NSD July 22/20 (6 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - Ongoing~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1634.34 / £2025 (58%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £13,429.74 / £12,000 💯 - Continuing20

Mrs_Salad_Dodger - You're up early xx I've started to feel tired again but lost energy and enthusiasm to take pics and list items before I go back to bed. 2 very bad nights with very little sleep and high levels of chronic pain
Never mind, babyface is wrapped up, snuggling and snoring her head off in her fresh & clean thick fleece which gives me great pleasure and makes me smile xx

Hi,
Beautiful flowers Mrs SD. Mr SD knows a very good florist. The flowers you are given always look so fresh and perky. My friend isn't German but I can imagine her winning the race to put the towels on the sun beds! They are doing another world cruise later this year. She spends a lot of time finding cruise bargains. They do 4 or 5 cruises a year.
I am on the home straight with the knitting, just half a sleeve left to finish on baby V's jumper. Then the sewing up marathon, including Dobber babies jumper. I know you would like a photo.Do you remember Simon Mayo's radio 2 confessions? There was one about someone looking after a giant baby,I am sure it must be on a podcast somewhere.
My keen knitter has made 2 scarves whilst I was in hospital and then had the cold. She wants to make her husband a jumper next, I have given her the pattern for the jumper I have just made for my son.
Soontobeoap, I can picture the fight with the mattress to get it back in the car to move it a few feet. Me n Mr V have been there too many times ourselves. Coming home from Epping Forrest springs to mind. I bought an oak door off ebay. We couldn't get it in the car, on the roof, we tried all ways. In the end we had to have it hanging out the back with the door open and the alarm going off all the way home. We did play Bat out of Hell album full blast to try and drown it out! or the time I bought a bookcase and it had to be tied to the roof and I had to hold it still with my hand freezing off all the way home, then climb out of the window Dukes of Hazard stylee. The time he broke the car windscreen trying to put DD1's sofa on the roof. I could go on! btw, beans on toast is one of my favourite meals and the crusts are the best bit of the loaf!
Enjoy your sleep dizzycap. I hate those long sleepless nights.
I had washing on the line yesterday for the first time this year. 3 1/2 minutes extra light a day,25 minutes a week, yess.
At last my voice is getting slightly less less squeaky. DD1 is coming shortly. She is a speech and language therapist, perhaps she can give me some tips. We are going to the garden centre as she has vouchers from her Birthday burning a hole in her pocket. She is also bringing yarn supplies for the gang. Thank you so much basketcase. xx
Better get a wriggle on Vx:19 -
Dizzycap - I am impressed that you take photos at night - you must have superior lighting to me. I have to wait for a bright day.
I listed on V yesterday evening.
This morning I walked into town to get cash for C. I gave C £1,012.23 - so he has had all the V money now.
I went back home to make a mid morning cup of tea. Not as cold out today.
Then I went to get some more slippers for Mr F - he said to get 2 pairs so I asked him how long he was planning to be here - of course we know we are taken when the Lord chooses.
Got home after waiting for a bus and we have had our main meal of the day.
