Monday: Managed to get up & dressed just before noon. It has been very windy overnight & is still very breezy. It was brilliant sunshine from 12:00 to 12:20 but has now become so dark that I needed to turn the lights on 😧 Rain is forecast & the temperature is supposed to be 7°C but feels like 0°C 🥶 I have managed one bit of decluttering - emptied the office recycling bag = 175
Straight into cheerleading as I have fallen behind again:
Dizzycap, what a lovely neighbour I am sending 💐 Sounds like Sunday was a good day not only for decluttering but also treating ‘baby face’ to a long walk 👏 Fingers crossed that all your listings result in quick sales 🤞
Welcome aboard the EDT apples05 👋 Lovely to see a new face & looking forward to learning a bit more about you as you embark on your Decluttering journey 😊 Downsizing is a great reason to declutter as it will be easier to pack & then easier to unpack once you are in your new home 👏 Hopefully once you get started & the first item is decluttered you will build up momentum & find it easier & easier to declutter especially if you stick to your lists 🤞Good luck 🍀
Excellent decluttering & tidying SuffolkSue 👏 This “I can now supply the country with pencils” made me laugh 😂 although it did cross my mind that if it was me I would probably tidy them away & then not be able to find a single one when I needed it 😉
QueenJess, I am still giggling 🤭 at This “What they did bring back was the box and bubble wrap I used up to post their Xmas present to them. I was relieved it had gone and they've brought it back to be reused. Bit frustrating they've decluttered it back to me after I decluttered it to them” It sounds like they do have some concept of decluttering & being eco friendly although their timing leaves a lot to be desired 😉 Perhaps you can use the box to pack DD’s trousers for delivery to the CS 🤔 Good luck with the Ins & Outs counting 🍀
Excellent work sorting out the bedroom cupboard, Soontobeoap 👏 Good luck with your sewing projects 🍀
Muddy_Walker, that sounds so familiar 😉 Fingers crossed that the doctor can give you some proper pain meds for your back & calf muscle & that all the doctors involved with your medical issues will start talking to each other🤞 So sorry to hear about the tough time your two friends are having 🥺 I read This “Decluttering has taken a bit of a back seat….although both dogs decided to have a play with a new ball of wool I bought. 2 mins they were alone for…….and they were soooo proud of the tangled mess they made. Smiling faces and waggy tails…..🙄☹️🤣 They were sent to bed with strong words……” & then shared it with my DSis who commented that it was usually cats that did this sort of thing 😅 I think your dogs were probably channelling their inner cats …… sorry 😔 😉
Blue_Doggy, loved This “Not really a decluttering day, but a day for putting some things right.” 😊 Just as good as decluttering & highly satisfying 👏
Breaking off to say that that the darkness turned to rain & I have just heard some thunder ☹️ Of course, this means that unless I want to get soaked the parcels will wait yet another day before I post them 😞 As I need to make myself a hot drink, I will post this & come back in a little while 🤞

Gorgeous Sox - Happy BirthdayNot been a bad day so far. The usual HH rubbish decluttering, a total scrub of the bathroom tiles and taps to declutter any nasties
, a trip to the vet to have baby faces nails clipped - I can do everything else but I can't do nail clipping. I always worry I'm going to hurt her or worse still, make her bleed
, a nice walk and run for baby face after the vet. Got home and declutter a large cup of coffee followed by a 1 hour nap. Woke up and reorganised all the recycyled packaging making life far easier for decluttering items out of the house. 1 item packed ready to be decluttered tomorrow when postie comes to collect
and now I've managed to declutter another cup of coffee whilst filling a dolly trolly full of empty delux Christmas card boxes ready for the charity shop who asked me if I had any they could have - with pleasure they can have them
Far better than filling up the recycling wheelie bin, if I don't get to use them and a decluttering of my packaging - win, win
The sun has made an appearance after heavy rain, so me and babyface are going to do a little sunbathing in the lounge this afternoon while it lasts and then we can get back to mega wardrobe door 4
- babyface loves it, I wish I felt the same

Ds and I decluttered 20 items from his bedroom yesterday. Some of those will be donated and some are only fit for the bin. Today will be a big fat zero I suspect as I've pulled a muscle reaching for something on the floor whilst sitting in a chair (I'm hypermobile so my muscles aren't properly supported by ligaments). I can just about hobble down the stairs now as painkillers are working but I could hardly move earlier.
I was going to do a tip run today but that will have to wait. The cat came to sit on me in the hopes that I had a high temperature (she loves a hot human) and ds has made me a cup of tea and has filled my water bottle (the cold sort for drinking)
@Florenceem you may need to inform them that MrF does not own your house equally and therefore his right to be in it is looking decidedly dodgy. I'd also say that as they're insisting on putting a disbled person who has no right to be there into your house then you're going to stay with your daughter and wish them the best of luck sorting it all out.
Take care all of you 😊21 -
Had some stuff picked up that I gave away on Facebook, 1 trolley load to charity and another packed up hopefully to go tomorrow
Today I deep cleaned the hob and extractor fan hood of god knows how many years of grease. Also dyed my hair, cleaned the bathroom and did 3 loads of washing
We had a leak into our bedroom through our new window at the weekend so had to fix that which I could have done without tbh
Sale of house is in progress and I'll filled in all online forms I've just some stuff to scan and email over like details for extension, drop kerb, electric etc20 -
@Florenceem
is there a nurse or doctor that could talk to the therapist and tell them how wrong it would be to send Mr F home? otherwise it's going to be a case of you just sitting there and repeatedly be saying NO. Has the therapist actually visited your home to see how impossible it will be?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. DH & I had some toast & marmalade for lunch, then he went out & posted a couple of letters/cards for me - managing to avoid the rain 🙂 although he did comment that it was very cold 😉
oceanspirit, maybe he is learning 😉 Well done on getting lots of ‘pottering jobs’ done 👏 I am still waiting for my ‘mojo’ to return from its extended holiday 😅 I start a job & then get distracted ☹️ What a great idea to sit down with OH & plan the week ahead 😊
Duchess2, you have had a busy weekend & got a lot done 👏
Great work with the listings EcoIntent & even better that you have made several sales 👏 Also very well done on curbing your ‘thrifting instinct’ as it is definitely a great aid to decluttering if you can control incoming stuff 🥳 Keep up the good work 😊
Dizzycap, This “I found and still find it important to reflect on what actually comes in to clutter up the house and whether those items are an essential necessity.……. I don't look around shops to reclutter on non-essentials. I now prefer my new found simplistic but comfortable predominantly uncluttered space” is very well expressed 😊
BlueJ94, hope you enjoyed your visit to the gym 😊
Florenceem, that is a lot of bags - 26 😥 No wonder it was such a mammoth & time consuming task to delist ☹️
LittleMissDetermined, well done on tackling ‘froggy areas’ over the weekend 👏
GrannyKate, Sir Sox is gorgeous 😻 Love the expression on his face as if to say “OK, take a photo but only if you are quick” 🤭 His moustache is wonderful - 2 different sizes 😉 Snow in Florida, must be DS1’s imagination 😉 as according to ‘the orange one’ there is no such thing as climate change so obviously he thinks there is nothing unusual about snow in Florida 😠
~FlowerPot~, hope you enjoy your reiki training & that it is not too exhausting 🤞
2Scratters, sorry to hear that you believe you are “floundering with trying to keep stuff moving out” ☹️ Although having read the rest of your post I think you are being very harsh on yourself 😔 Plenty of items decluttered 👏 & remember lots of small successes accumulate & become a large success 😊 Good luck with both the kitchen & 2nd wardrobe decluttering 🍀
Liverpool_Anne, shame about your food yesterday but pleased to hear that it was resolved & that you had a good time catching up with your friend 😊 + the uplifting bonus of seeing ‘a clump of snowdrops’ 🙂 Well done on yesterdays decluttering 👏 - way more than I managed 😉 Keeping everything crossed that OH is still amenable to disposing of the large top box 🤞Don’t forget to give yourself a pat on the back once it is at the Tip 😉 Lovely cheerleading as usual 🥹 I almost fell off my sofa reading This “…….. and the presenter was saying he had to do 2 tip runs at the weekend and commented to the guys there he should get a job there as he is there every weekend and was told there was a job going, part time at the weekend. He went home and told his wife who said no way as he would be rescuing all sorts of rubbish and bringing it home 😂😂😂.” 🤣
Florenceem, no wonder you are losing weight - two trips into town before midday 🤩 Yippee to printing the last of the labels for Vinted sales 🥳
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Very impressed that your friend knitted the doll with no help 🤩 Such a shame that the ‘very anxious lady’ isn’t making any progress with her knitting 😔 but hopefully you can find a craft that she will take to like a duck to water 🙏 I would love to have met up on the 19th but it is my sister in law’s birthday so we are in Kent that day.
Good decluttering Willowtree222 👏 & a great idea re the candle jars 🙂
Excellent digital decluttering over the weekend Spendywendywoo 👏 Good luck with the one a day drawer decluttering 🍀
Florenceem, I have no words for the appalling treatment you are being subjected to 😢 Is there anyone at all who can accompany you to the hospital to support you - perhaps C? You are in my prayers 🙏
Dizzycap, I would up the “Not been a bad day so far.” to ‘it has been an excellent day of decluttering, tending to baby face’s needs & giving myself some TLC’ 👏🥳 A real pity that baby face can’t do all the work involved in decluttering 😉 Good luck dealing with the items behind Door 4 of the mega wardrobe🍀
Excellent decluttering of DS’s bedroom CRANKY40 👏 but sorry to hear that you have injured yourself 😔 Please try to rest today & tomorrow & let DS look after you 🙏
Crazycatlady2, Excellent work dealing with decluttering, cleaning & laundry 👏 Wishing you continuing & swift progress on the house sale 🤞
I will see you all later as I need to turn my thoughts as to what to have for dinner - just wish someone else would make the decisions 😉

Florenceem - I don't have any advice, but I hope you get this sorted out. My brother-in-law took my mother-in-law back into the house with carers visiting (and they bought a very expensive bed for her downstairs) and she was back in hospital very soon afterwards.2025 GOALS

I removed two neighbours (one a good friend) who DDad had put down as next of kin without my knowledge or theirs! If it hadn’t been for the doctor stepping in sooner to help me, I was literally putting in place what @CRANKY40 suggested, and it actually was an idea that the carers coming in suggested, to just walk away and let the medical profession sort out their mess as DDad was not budging.Wishing you the best @Florenceem, they just can’t force Mr F home without input from yourself.@GrannyKate Sox is very handsome.i think he is definitely a Sir Sox or a Lord Sox.Sold another item on V but won’t add to my total until it leaves the house tomorrow plus a pair of DDs mouldy pumps thrown out. Also have more things to pop on V tonight and trying to clear out the kitchen more, I currently have a box of things I want to keep and another charity bag filling up.Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
