kiss_me_now9 - I think in my Trust - discharge is handled by the therapists not the ward.
I am also getting a non slip shower mat - the one we had was old so not up to the job of helping Mr F keep on his feet. I need time for items to arrive.
My town has no shops where you can obtain these items - would have to go to the out of town shopping centre. We don't have a car. So I have ordered online.
Seems a therapist has phoned as I have a private number call on my mobile but I missed it and can't return the call. If 2 therapists arrive at Mr F's bedside - I will refuse to engage in conversation - I felt bullied by 2 on 1. I will speak to a single therapist.
There are empty beds in Mr F's ward because it is a closed ward - due to a Noro Virus infection so no pressure on his bed.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I will PM you Vulpix.
I had my third class of the year today so I am doing well with my challenge of doing 25 classes in 2025. I am trying to support local businesses so I ate at a local cafe on the way home and then stopped at a charity shop too as they had a sale. I was very restrained and only bought a consumable (bag of bath salts) and a white mug that I will definitely use.
I deep cleaned my fridge the other day and threw away half a green pepper and two condiments that I didn't use up in time. I have started to meal plan more as that really reduces any food waste. I'm roasting some squishy tomatoes to make soup later.
I'm really going through my toiletries too, which is good as for a while I had too many. I am trying to remember to use hand cream as my hands get very dry in this weather. I have put a tube of hand cream in every room!
I meant to ask in the charity shop if they were taking donations again. I will walk there tomorrow and ask.2025 GOALS

I would like to again thank all our Declutterati family for their ‘virtual’ support & extra information for Florenceem 🥹
Happy_Kitties, good luck with your listings 🍀
Florenceem, I am so very sorry to hear that after giving you some hope of a full assessment of MrF’s capabilities & some respite care the medical establishment have gone back to bullying you & not listening 😢 You & MrF are in my thoughts & prayers.
scandimore, you have made an excellent start on your decluttering 👏 Perhaps the box files could be donated to a CS? Do you have a corner of your bedroom where you could stack the 3 full box files until you can find a permanent home for them 🤔
QueenJess, great work with the digital decluttering especially after a long day at work 👏 I have been remiss in making an award so please have a Gold Star ⭐️ (should have been awarded when you reached 183/365 🙊)
Brambling, sorry to hear that your decluttering has stuttered a bit ☹️ Please accept some 💐 for taking time to help your friend 😇 Your PITA is absolutely gorgeous 😻 Very kind of you to warm up the seat for him 😅
sqwiffy, hopefully you managed to get some rest last night whilst doing the night shift with your mum 🙏 It is so fortunate that you have sisters who can share the load 🥹 I did love This “She's asleep but spelling while dreaming, bless her” just wondering if she was a teacher 😊 ‘Aussie’ is a beautiful bird 😍 Sorry to hear that he is ill but hopefully he is now on the mend 🤞As you are only home half the time, please do not be hard on yourself if your decluttering is a bit hit & miss at the moment 😊
One page caught up 🙂 Hope everyone is staying warm & dry 🙂 See you later 👋

Florenceem you are right to suggest only one therapist, thats not really fair 2 to 1 if they are not being ultra supportive.
Some very interesting information and advice in lots of posts for Florenceem in particular right now but handy for all of us I think.
I'm fairly certain I've said how much I enjoyed the pics of aussie, 'pita' and sir sox but wanted to be sure.
Vulpix Mr daisys book has been left mouldering in computer since 17th I think but I did some more pages today. I've now done 3 chapters, 30 pages, almost 15,000 words. Mr d is working on a full synopsis for our benefit just now, then we will get it down to an a4 page synopsis as I think we are ready to start looking for agents. We are going to try this route rather than go straight to self publishing. 🤞 you need to get on with yours for sure.

@Florenceem I'm sorry for what you are going through, but haven't commented much until now as I don't have anything useful to say/advice. Just *hugs*. The NHS is both brilliant and terrible; often at the same time. They don't seem to do cross overs to other departments/areas/teams very well.I myself am battling a system and multiple GPs with a "computer says no" situation and it is exhausting, frustrating and sometimes I just don't have the energy to battle it. This morning I went to a completely pointless (in my opinion) appointment simply because it means that the GP has exhausted all tests and will have no choice but to believe me and frankly the very obvious conclusion I am in perimenopause. Not that it means help of course as there is a waiting list and they cannot tell me how long I need to wait.... I will probably end up paying for private care
On the flip side, the appointment I had this morning was with someone who was brilliant.

If the therapists want to do a home visit to check things out (can't discharge without this in my opinion) can you ensure that someone, friend, foe, a SA officer, be with you when they arrive? Brie - they are discharging Mr F this evening! He is going home by hospital transport - he has no clothes not even underwear - just a hospital gown - no dressing gown.
When I arrived at the hospital - I went to his usual bed - he wasn't there - nurse at desk in ward didn't know where he was and said I would have to wait until after the Drs ward round. I hadn't been told that Mr F had been moved. I said - I am here and not waiting - so she went to the outside desk and said he had gone in the next part of the ward.
The ward he was in is no longer a closed one.
A nurse said that a therapist had tried to ring me twice - it was once. Nurse said therapists were with another patient and then would come to see us. I stated that it had to be 1 therapist - Mr F felt he was bullied yesterday so it wasn't only me feeling that way.
Therapist turned up - Mr F is no longer on a catheter so that issue is solved. He can walk with a zimmer frame to the toilet in the ward but isn't at all steady.
Therapists in the morning took him to the therapy gym to try him on stairs - 3 of them - we have 13 and a bend on the stairs.
Therapist said they they recommended a care package - I declined with Mr F's agreement. She said he could have a reusable bottle to save getting out of bed in the night - she brought this to me.
Therapist said that someone will come and talk about when Mr F would be discharged. No one came then a pharmacist turned up and said Mr F's medications would be ready in 2 hours. I knew this meant discharge so went to the desk to ask why no one had come to talk to us.
Apparently having no clothes doesn't stop them from sending him home. It is cold and wet here. I said Mr F has no keys and I don't want him home tonight so nurse was going to phone matron.
I just walked out - I couldn't take any more. My phone rang but I didn't answer - I was too angry.
I am home now and have calmed down - expect a ring on the door.

@ Florenceem
- I can truely understand why you just had to walk out in the end
It could be hours before Mr.F gets home by hospital transport, so I'd carry on as you would normally do, including the time you would usually go to bed and leave it to the ambulance driver to wake you up when / if Mr.F gets delivered home, if you should be in bed.
