DH started decluttering our usual massive heap of laundry which wasn’t quite so huge. He is an angel, he starts it and then I deal with the drying, folding and putting away. He has cooked dinner the last two days too so I am definitely spoilt. Lucky me. Only 1 sale on eBay thus far this week but two lots have bids on so hope they will go too. Slow but steady wins the race but it’s flipping frustrating.Same here, but TBH, I could do with some space away from packing items to declutter off to a new cluttered home. There seems to be a very strange lull to the end of January which I also noticed at the beginning of December. There's a kind of eerie level of inactivity where it's almost totally devoid of internet buying/selling activity or outside noise after 7pm - Very strange~ NSD 2025 - NSD May 4/20 (4 x💯)# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £603.29 / £667.95 (90%)# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £9423.18 / £12,000 (78.5%)# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1170.23 / £1,378 (85%)~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺~ Decluttering Awards 2025: 🏅🏅☕️⭐️💐🏅⭐️⭐️☕️☕️⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £567.79 / £2025 (28%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯15 -

Hi all, goodish day today 😁. OH went to visit the baby so I took the opportunity to pull some things from OH's pile 😁. 2 cardboard boxes broken down and recycled, 2 ood calendars recycled, 2 items into the cs bag, 3 dead pens binned along with various other bits of carp so lr bin emptied again. Sorted my mail which included a renewal notice for my AA membership. It seemed a bit steep and was set up for an annual payment for next month so I thought I'd investigate how much it would be to pay monthly. No phone number on the letter so googled it and would you believe it they were advertising a sale, 40% off 😁. So I phoned and got it changed to monthly payments and saved myself £100. I know there are cheaper recovery people but I like the idea that it is me who is covered not my car so even if I am using OH"s car or a passenger in someone else's car I can still use them. Also did a session of ironing. After tea did some crochet but I was quite tired so only a few rows 😁
Tomorrow I am visiting my friend who's DH had a stroke along with my friend who lost her DH before Christmas so I am not expecting to get much done.
@Florenceem hugs
@Squiffy hugs. I was so upset when I lost my budgie I know how you feel.
@Vulpix lots of crafts to keep you busy there 😁. The mind boggles at the big electrical "thing" Mr V might have made 😂😂😂 but at least it's motivated him to have a sort out 😁. Good luck with the book research, maybe an idea to record the conversation so you don't forget anything 😁.
@Crazycatlady2 good luck to your eldest for the interview, good vibes sent 😁 and everything crossed 😁.
@Muddy_Walker hope you have a speedy recovery hugs
@Floss there definitely are eleventy billion days in January 😂, but luckily only 3 left now 😁
Ok, off to bed now, my eyes are starting to lose focus 😁

@sqwiffy - So sorry to hear about Aussie. Losing a family pet is so difficult. I remember still how my father reacted to the loss of his parrakeet and canary. He was so devastated. I feel that way about the cats and dogs I have had - they are definitely family members who love us and whom we love. Take care of yourself.16

- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DH filled the bird feeders & cleared some rubbish from the garden boxes including empty bird feeders sacks. I spent the afternoon reading & napping. Another day of rain so still haven’t posted the parcels 😔 Dinner was lamb steaks, mash, broccoli & cauliflower. DH did the wudupa 👏 & made a soup for good measure 🏅

Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 Yippee to the top box going to the Tip - a major win 🥳 Lovely cheerleading 😊
Duchess2, after so much hard work a day off was a perfect way to reward yourself 👏 Surely the aerial man was taking the Michael 🤨 no wonder you ‘politely declined’ 😉
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 you are on a roll 🥳
Florenceem, you are in my thoughts & prayers 🙏
Willowtree222, shame about the wheelie bin not being emptied properly ☹️
CRANKY40, your cat certainly has good staff 😅
kiss_me_now9, thank you for the very useful information 👏
After all my napping this afternoon & evening, I am finally feeling tired enough to go to bed. Apologies for falling behind with the cheerleading……… again 😔 Sleep tight 😴

sqwiffy - so sorry to hear your news.
I went to bed - didn't get off to sleep quickly - listening out for the doorbell.
I must have been in a deep sleep as I woke up to a noise - my phone ringing. By the time I picked it up - it had stopped - private number - so the hospital - it was 10.10 - so what time were they bringing Mr F home if I had answered?
So now I will carry on with my day and wait for the hospital to phone me. I plan to take stuff to the charity shop at 9 as usual.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

So sorry to hear about the little bird. @sqwiffy.
I do hope common sense prevails @Florenceem. Have you seen this document as it might help you to formulate questions (Hospital Discharge etc January 2024) https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/hospital-discharge-and-community-support-guidance/hospital-discharge-and-community-support-guidance

@Squiffy so sorry to hear about Aussie. Our pets are part of our family and deserve our grief as much as the loss of a human relative. @Muddy-Walker sorry to hear about your trip to hospital. Hope you are continuing to improve. Take it easy. @Mrs_Salad_Dodger please don’t apologise for falling behind. You do a fantastic job of herding and encouraging the declutterati. You are just as entitled to a bit of self-care as the rest of us. @Florenceem courage mon brave. Wow @Liverpool_Anne you’re leaving a singed trail behind you😃 Washing and ironing are the order of the day for me. Have a good one folks12

@sqwiffy - I am so sorry to hear about your loss of beautiful little Aussie. It really does hurt so much to lose our beloved family pets. They give us their love very freely and we will always miss them xx@GrannyKate - I hope you feel better soon.@Muddy_Walker - I am sorry you had to go through having DVT on top of everything else. Don’t forget the TLC carriages for your rest. I love the sound of your dogs, never a dull moment 😂
@Florenceem - it has been clear that the therapists have been forcing the discharge home upon you and Mr F including the language being used with you. Probably due to policy rather than their own personal views, however it has been awful for you to be on the receiving end of it. I am sorry that the rehabilitation offer, which would have been the safer option, has not materialised for Mr F. It’s a good thing that you managed to have a night of sleep before whatever faces you today. Also, that you have support in putting in a complaint. My heart goes out to you as I remember what went on with my DM and MIL and how it feels to be bulldozed by the system.@kiss_me_now9 - thank you for such a useful post detailing current strategies. It was very helpful to understand how different things are now to my own era. Although, it still does sound as though best practice hasn’t been followed.@Liverpool_Anne - thank you for the pharmacy comments. I think you are right that having to order things in adds extra delays.Like almost everyone I seem to have a bit of a bug so my productivity has plummeted. Hopefully back to the decluttering soon as I am just keeping on top of the day to day stuff at the moment.Good wishes to you all 😊14
