Carers- the trouble is the media. They rarely if ever speak about the good ones only the bad. The ones I know personally are awesome.
on a light hearted note - shall we all swap houses for a bit? We’d all be super successful in decluttering 😊⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇

We had fabulous carers for 4 weeks when DBro came out of hospital. They were fabulous ladies. A couple of times they called because they were running late/a previous client had had a fall before they arrived and they had to stay with them. We couldn’t fault them and they came under the 6 weeks free support (which isn’t income dependent).✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Think of you @Florenceem and do ask for help rather than be too overwhelmed.
Tax submitted.
Some paper declutter, off cuts of wall paper out (have lots more for lining drawers), have to help DD1 with her broadband and mobile, - moved and didn't realise could take broadband so paying for old flat and then mobile costs waiting for new broadband and the hassle getting through is beyond her at the moment. And me, 45 mins then disconnected and another 30 mins!
Have moved a few things for decorator next week. Smart meter was due to be fitted so I emptied the under stairs cupboard where meters are and did warn people that they should send someone on the slim side....but they didn't so the lovely chap asked for someone else to be sent another day.
Frogs mounting up. No sales but people lined to pick up free stuff. E-mop picked up which I used a couple of times and decided not for me. At least nothing in today!

Both you & Mr.F remain in my thoughts and prayers FlorenceemI have to agree with Muddy_Walker & florianatwobob regarding media negativity of the exceedingly small minority of bad carers Vs the large majority of fantastic carers who do actually care and never get recognition@ Muddy_Walker loving the idea of a declutter house swap. Maybe a decluttering weekend house swap? And as Willowtree222 says: No emotional attachments
- Hit it!
As expected a much slower decluttering day today.I managed the usual HH rubbish bins: once in the morning and again tonight.I wiped over the kitched surfaces, sink drainer, sink, front of fridge & freezer door decluttering any bits stuck in the ridges of the door suckers, and front & inner washing machine door.I decluttered 2 parcels at the inpost locker when I took baby face for a walk - We've had a fabulous day togther and she's been bursting with happiness fruit-looping around the house this evening as we have been playing hunt the frog under the duvet game - Don't askThe games I have to come up with
I did pull out some more items from behind door 4 of the monster wardrobe this morning but then my energy zapped and I had to leave them piled on a chair which I covered up with a white blanket so it looked like a dust sheet and I was about to paint the roomI then ended up having a 5 hour sleep and woke up just as tired
On a positive note, I have decluttered 2 bowls of yummy homemade soup along with 4 cups of coffee and have now managed to sort out the items I had to dump on the chair. Some lovlies I kept ready to list, whenever I get the energy to do that, but the rest are in the dolly trolly which is now nicely full and ready to take to the charity shop
Not sure when that will be, but I'd like it to be empty by Friday
I've packed an item ready to be decluttered by the lovely postie tomorrow and I hope there will be a few more to 'add on' before he collects, but tbh, I'm not really fussed either wayI'm now going to declutter another cup of coffee before I go back to bed. Baby face is already snoring away wrapped up in one of her double thick fleeces- Not that she's spoilt

Came home tonight at 6pm after three days at my mum's apart from popping home to bury Aussie on Tuesday. I was telling myself to stop crying which I did on and off all Tuesday and that he was just a little bird. Then this evening, when I walked into the kitchen where his cage was, I started again, and again when he would have come into the living room with me, I felt like there was a huge weight on my chest where his little body would normally sit having a snuggle. But you are all so lovely, understanding my feelings, so thank you. And I was lucky to have him for 8 years although I'm jealous it wasn't 23. I've never heard of a budgie that old! Right, I won't keep on now.I can see why people talk about other stuff too as it's carthartic and helpful here!So no decluttering again today but with your help, I'll get back on the wagon when I can.@Florenceem You're doing so well. We are reluctant to accept help for our mum too but you can actually get an assessment and then employ your own carers. I like the idea of that more. I think it's too much for one person to cope with all alone but you will find what's right for you.For those of you dealing with ill health in whatever form, I wish you well. Tomorrow is always another day and there's always someone worse off than you, I tell myself when I feel bad or low. Sleep well.TrialTrying different methods of decluttering..... Random at present but not very organised.20

Hi all, just popping in to update, bathroom bin and kitchen recycling were all I managed today. Left the house at 10 am and got home at 4.30 pm after visiting my friend. She was asking advice about a damp problem she had and we agreed the first step is to remove the rendering as it seems to be coming away from the wall and it might be trapping water behind it. She also unfortunately had the roof of her wood store collapse under the snow so we looked at options for that. My other friend who lost her DH just before Christmas was also there and I think she is doing well but admits to having brain fog a lot of the time. We did have a nice day though but I was very tired when I got home and had a snooze on the couch but woke in time to watch the footy on tv 😁. Did some crochet and decided on an early night, for me 😂😂
Falling asleep now so hugs to anybody who would like one

Take care everyone

sqwiffy, Aussie was not JUST a little bird, he was YOUR bird, your friend and companion. You shed as many tears as you need sweetheart. My Jazz, a precious little kitty cat, has been gone for 18 months and I still cry about her, miss her badly, she was MY girl and I adored her just like you adore Aussie. Grief has no sell by date so ignore any one who tells you to stop grieving.Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Yes, I did take advantage of the dry weather & headed off to the P.O. (after I wrote a menu plan & shopping list) Round trip 32 minutes & that included waiting 10 minutes for the bus 😉 Parcels sent & should arrive in 48 hours 🤞DH had a bath whilst I was out. I now have a cuppa & will read a bit of my book before finding something to do - my To Do list is very long 😉 Whilst DH & DSis were out shopping I vacuumed the whole of downstairs - emptied 3 times 😕 + remembered to de-hair the rollers before putting away the vacuum cleaner 🙂 All shopping unpacked & put away. Watched a bit of TV then made dinner - fried chicken with boiled potatoes & peas. DSis treated us to a cream cake each & I thoroughly enjoyed my cream horn 🤤 Wudupa.

vulpix, shame about the ‘fancy going out’ shoes ☹️ I have always struggled with fancy shoes as I have quite large sized feet & even from about age 20 have always prized comfort over fashion 😉 This “I have screws in my left heel which I can feel when I try to wear a fancy shoe.” sounds very painful 😰
London_1, nice to see you 👏 Sounds like you have been very busy getting even more settled into island life 😊 Well done on gathering all the photos into just one plastic storage box 👏What a great friend Henry is 🥹 He certainly is a jet setter - Porto, Thailand & Malta 😊 I do have to comment that your love of the Isle of Wight shines through every time you post 😊
Excellent work QueenJess 👏 Congratulations on passing your first target & please accept a Gold Star ⭐️ to go with your 🥉
Excellent decluttering of your wardrobe Wednesday2000 👏 Keep up the good work 😊
Florenceem, on the one hand I am pleased to hear that MrF is home & at a sensible time of day 😊 but on the other hand it really doesn’t seem like the hospital has given any real thought to how you will both cope 😔 Wishing you both all the best 🙏
Great decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏
Excellent decluttering Deni_debt-free_dreamer & well done on dealing with an important frog 👏 DD1’s friend can visit me - after Brie of course 😉 How about two wardrobes 😉😉
Florenceem, sorry to hear that MrF has lost more weight 😔 Hopefully now that is home you can build him up 🙏 Cwtches to you both 🤗
Great decluttering Willowtree222 👏
Muddy_Walker, This “on a light hearted note - shall we all swap houses for a bit? We’d all be super successful in decluttering 😊” could be interesting 🧐 although I think I would get very stressed at having someone in my house 😉
Breaking off to say that it seems that as with any other profession, there are excellent carers as well as not so good ones 🤨
Yippee to tax form being submitted TC77 🥳 Great decluttering 👏 Shame that your request for a ‘slim Smart meter fitter’ was ignored 😕 Now that you have completed your biggest frog, hopefully you will be able to dispense with a few more 🤞
Dizzycap, This “I have to agree with Muddy_Walker & florianatwobob regarding media negativity of the exceedingly small minority of bad carers Vs the large majority of fantastic carers who do actually care and never get recognition” very well said 🥹 Excellent decluttering & well done on finding enough energy to tackle a few more of the items behind Door 4 of the mega wardrobe 👏
sqwiffy, I echo suzeesu’s sentiments 🥹 Lovely supportive post ☺️
You are a good friend Liverpool_Anne 🥹

I had a good night's sleep and so did Mr F. We had agreed that if he wanted a wee in the night - would use the bottle we were given by the hospital.
Mr F's legs have flaking skin where he had the cellulitis so I creamed them before he went to bed. He has more medication than before he went into hospital.
Mr F is still in bed - had a cup of tea. I will pop to the mobility shop today to see if they have a zippy cup as that will be easier when he has a drink in bed. He struggles to get himself sitting up in bed.
The hospital said that he would be tired when he got home.
I just hope and pray that Mr F can regain his strength.
I will think about having a carer to get Mr F into bed but a friend has offered to help.
I am going to do my upkeep jobs before I head out to the charity shop at 9..
