@ sqwiffy - when it comes to any living creature and/or the loss of something loyal & loving, the flippant word 'just' should never be in the equation of feelings and emotions. Every creature has its own unique character and personality and when they are no longer there, wow the loss of that energy from their personality and character in your life, is beyond any words......Grief is so very personal but its important to remember that you cry when you need to and it doesn't matter where you are when the emotion of loss becomes overwhelming and you need to cry. Grieving is also exhausting, so be kind to yourself & take care of yourself sqwiffy

I took a trolley and bag full to the charity shop.
I phoned my hairdresser to see if she could fit me in before she goes on holiday - she said - could I do 8 am tomorrow. I said yes then she phoned back to say if I could get there in 10 minutes - she could fit me in now - I was there in 5!
I needed a trim.
Gave Mr F a mid morning cuppa and food and went with another trolley & bag full into town - also posted a parcel. I got a bus home as I had done quite a few steps.
When I got home - Mr F said a nurse had phoned - was coming to give him a blood test - we didn't know he was having one. He told nurse that I was out and he couldn't get to the door so she arranged to come after half a hour.
We had dinner and she turned up after more than an hour so I can go out again now.
Nothing wrong with Mr F's appetite.
I have to help Mr F get out of his chair and walk to the cloakroom - he slips in his socks so hopefully his slippers arrive soon - they have been dispatched.

daisy_1571 said:Aw squiffy thats the silliest thing ive ever heard. Yes to lots of people in the outside world he was just a bird, in exactly the same way my dog was just a dog, my cat was just a cat and people are just people. As suzeesue says he was your friend and you were his person who looked after him, thought about his needs and his little likes and dislikes and catered to them, had routines with him. Its absolutely awful clearing away a lost pets things knowing they don't need them anymore. Take your time, hugs xxxx
Grannykate glad your feeling a bit better.
Mrs sd you wouldn't be caring about someone in your home, youd be too busy clearing out someone else's home and making it b-eee-utiful for them arriving back home 😀

Another trolley full gone but I did buy 5 items of clothes oops
Son didn't take the job as it wasn't as expected
Cats been for a check up and his cancer is progressing but he still eating well etc so will have to make a horrible decision soon 😢
Start next phase of declutter next week and my son fetches stuff from shed every day after work for me to sort. Need to use big car and trailer to bring some bigger stuff soon but that can only be weekend and depending on DH health really
The kitchen trolley I was sending back as damaged didn't get collected and Amazon refunded me and said I can keep it so will look tomorrow how we can bodge it together as it's now free 😂17 -
Thinking of Mr and Mrs F and hoping it's not too stressful for you, take care of yourself x16

This train, it's getting away!
I'm decluttering in the background. Doing quite well, but need to do it more quickly. Still no move date.15 -
I'm still chipping away at things. The way I am working at the moment is that in the evening I write a to do list for the next day (washing, make bread etc etc) with essentials and a small list of things from a longer list. Then when I get up in the morning I can blast through some of the list before I start work, do a bit more in my lunch time and then some after work so that I can finish the list before the kids are in bed and I can actually sit down. Not sure if I can keep this up once work gets busier, but it's working at the moment.I popped into the garage earlier to pot up a baby plant for a friend and discovered that a plant pot I put in there to dispose of actually has things growing in it and it looks like it must have been bulbs that are coming back to life. I do not recall buying them (might have been a gift?) and so no idea what they are, although possibly daffodils? Anyone any idea on when I should bring them out of the garage and into the house?!Digital:

Mr F - has just told me - he had a fall in hospital on Tuesday evening - I expect that is why they phoned when I was in bed! He also just told me - they did a head MRI to check for damage - he fell in the toilet. Goodness knows why - he suddenly remembered!
I made another trip to the charity shop this afternoon - my poor little legs are tired now - 12,000 steps.
C phoned on his day off to ask after Mr F. Our old minister never contacted anyone on his day off - better pastoral care where we are now.
I have my shopping trolley and a bag packed ready for tomorrow's walk to the charity shop.
I am down from 26 bags to sort to 9 now.
Hopefully it will be easier getting Mr F into bed tonight.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Hello folks,
Ten things were decluttered on Tuesday which I was quite pleased with then nothing yesterday as we were in town trying to find someone that ds had a careers advisory meeting with. It ended with the meeting being rearranged for today as he was sent on a wild goose chase by the receptionist at the first (correct) building that he went to.
This morning I decluttered twenty five things and thought that things were going well. After lunch I set off to give ds a lift to the bus station for him to get the bus to uni. His "never very good" zip on his uni bag wasn't functioning at all so I said I'd go to town with him instead and look for a replacement. Job done and he also managed to get to his meeting today. The useless bag with the broken zip will be the first thing that I declutter tomorrow.
Florenceem I'm glad that you seem to be OK with MrF so far.
Sqwiffy - I'm sorry to hear about your little friend 💔
Take care all of you 😊15 -
Lovely photos of beautiful cats Brambling, GrannyKate and vulpix.
@sqwiffy Aussie looks so attentive in your photo, no wonder you miss him. It’s the measure of your love for him, he will always be in your heart. As others have said, there’s no such thing as “only a bird”.
Florenceem, so glad that things seem to be going well with MrF at home.
I see, and am heartened to see, that many of us are pecking about at the edges trying to get order. I find that there’s so much to do that it doesn’t at present seem to matter where I dive in and do a bit, it’s a bit done even if not joined up to anything else. I just have to not reclutter that bit. My aim is as far as possible to handle things once only, not pick them up from here and put them down there but to put them in the right place straight away.
Not a lot done lately, but
- household rubbish out
- three more empty boxes de-sticky taped and de-labelled, broken down and into recycling (from room of doom)
- three more items mended (also from RoD)
- two greengrocer’s fruit boxes and a plastic crate freed (in RoD) but still in Justin’s care …🤣
- mesh laundry bag, holed beyond repair, into fabric recycling bag
- four pairs of holey knicks out (cut up to make little soft cleaning cloths for rag-bag, the rest in fabric recycling)
- plastic bag from a birthday card thrown out (I have plenty in the cards box to protect new cards which come in nude)
- two big loads washed & dried at launderette, while they were doing I went to the pet shop for food for himself, to a frozen food emporium for a couple of bits for me, and to the butcher’s (also for me), decluttering lots of money in the process
- dry laundry aired overnight, folded and put away, (ironing still to do)
- tadpole-related emails done for two social groups I organise, responses dealt with
- bag of vegetable trimmings decluttered from freezer & turned into soup
- half bag of stringy, tasteless leeks turned into soup with some other unsatisfactory veg and a tub of cheese rinds (all also decluttered from freezer) ( I now have 14 portions of hm veg soup in the freezer)
- ood veg stock cubes binned, box to recycling
- dog walked, cuddled, and let into garden whenever demanded
- online supermarket order done for delivery tomorrow“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️
