Another quiet day but still managed to find 3 pairs of old socks that can go and a set of thermal undies that are 30 years old and are now scratchy to wear.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅17

Evening all
Been painting today and then baking this evening with dd, very rare occurrence these days, so that was nice!
Mrs F, very pleased MrF send to be coping at home. I hope you are too! Sending you much love and hugs. It will take a while to process everything that has happened on the last few weeks, so be kind to your self.
Gong to the coast tomorrow to visit my mum, she's not been to good and was asking for a visit without actually asking,🙄 you know how family can be! But it means I get to go to my fav cafe which it's good and will be nice to visit mum too, might even take her if she's well enough!

⭐My rambling savings Diary ~⭐19 -
Hi all, very slow day today mainly because I was so tired. Bedroom recycling emptied, b12 meds collected and then I sat down and did a meal plan for the next 2 weeks, sorted the shopping list and went to the sm. As I went to ald1 not everything on the list was available so I will do another small shop to another sm when I need it. OH made tea and decided to totally ignore the meal plan and made cheese and tomato omelettes so using most of the eggs, they have been put on the list for the next shop 😁. Too tired to iron or crochet 😁
I have my b12 jab first thing tomorrow so am heading to bed, hugs to anybody who would like one
173 bedroom recycling
174 meds collected
Take care everyone

@Liverpool_Anne, yes the school can (should) sort out the EHCP but we had a similar issue with DS1, that because neither are academically behind, they don’t need a specialist setting and in the main they cope at Primary, that if I wasn’t pushing for the application it wouldn’t happen. They both absolutely need SEMH support and more so when they get to year 7 and the demands increase. DS1 managed until mid year 5 without the extra support but then quickly became quite critical and it seems to be going the same way for DD. I had my meeting today and I don’t think she’ll meet the evidentiary threshold but I just need to try and make sure we do all we can. And thank you for the good luck wishes, there is so much push back because there just isn’t the money to support even kids with complex needs and my bunch don’t fall into that category. But on we press!

Thursday: DH & I left the house 12:20 making sure we had plenty of time to get across London (especially as when DH & DSis had made the journey 3 weeks ago they left at 12:30 & arrived at dentist with just 3 minutes to spare 😥) Would you believe it - we left 10 minutes earlier & arrived with 30 minutes to spare 😉 Fortunately it was a dry, sunny day so no real issue with waiting outdoors. Dental assistant let us in a few minutes early. All a bit of a shambles as receptionist was out sick so d.a. was answering the phones & the hygienist’s assistant was also out sick. As I had worked myself into a bit of a state I requested stain removal first before she started the prodding & poking of the deep clean just in case I had to ask her to stop. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I had expected & future visits will be every 4 months & only for 30 minutes 😮💨 However she advised that I needed a couple of fillings. DH had almost finished his book whilst waiting for me. All set to pay (owner was now acting as receptionist) when I was asked if I would like to see the dentist as there had been a cancellation 🙂 A new young dentist - very cheery, chatty & keen. He decided that I needed 3 fillings. He took his time so I was in longer than 30 minutes but at least it meant I avoided a trip next week. Then the really ouchy part - payment 😣 + booked next appointment for both hygienist (£30 deposit) & dentist. All in all spent just under £200 (having previously paid £80 as a deposit for the hygienist) We decided to go straight home & were indoors by 17:20. Dinner was individual meat pies, mash & green beans. Wudupa. Spent the rest of the evening watching TV & napping.
195 - 197 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, newspaper - recycled
198 - 199 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
Friday: a miserable wet day. Forecast high 8°C & low 4°C. DH zizzed food scraps & fed the worms + filled the bird feeders. I have had a lazy day - reading, napping & watching TV 😔 I had planned to go out but 3 days in a row - nah 🙂↔️ DH & I had a bowl of hm soup for lunch - uninspiring but tasty enough. Dinner was breaded fish, oven chips & peas. Wudupa
200 - 203 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, magazine, plastic bottle - recycled

Beautiful post Dizzycap 😍
Another busy day yesterday Florenceem 👏 It sounds like MrF is very happy to be home & that his recovery has started 🙏 Pleased to hear that he has an appetite 😊
Crazycatlady2, I am sure there were more than five items in your trolley 😉 so still successful decluttering 👏 Shame about the job, but hopefully your son will find something more suitable very soon 🤞Good luck fixing the kitchen trolley especially as it is now free 🍀
SuperLooperSaver, we are still speeding along but having checked last year’s thread we are travelling a little slower 😅 Well done on continuing to declutter even though you still don’t have a date for moving 👏 If you are anything like me , you will be finding it quite difficult to carry on without a time frame 😞 However, the more you do now the less stressful it will be when you do have a moving date 😊
I will try to catch up with the cheerleading tomorrow. Sleep tight 😴

The other option was a no,no and full bed rest at home wonWishing everyone a great decluttering weekend xxEdit Saturday morning: I got up at 6am to take a pile of liquid medication - yuck
, dealt with an important message & email, and am now sitting in the artroom decluttering a large cup of coffee and having a read of MSE. I'll be heading back to bed soon but needed a little sanity in another room

Morning all. Think I'm over the tummy bug at last. GC free until Thursday so should be able to get on a bit but really waiting for next two trades - plasterer doing main bedroom 11th and windows end February. I have decided on a colour scheme for bedroom and will order bed and carpet once it's ready to paint. As there will be new ceiling, coving, walls and skirting I think I should be able to do painting myself. Hopefully DS2 will help with ceiling. I have arranged for people who did my previous kitchen 13 years ago to come and look at this one. Not much has been decluttered this week other than moving money around and paying bills. I seem to have several annual payments in January which is not very sensible really. At least no council tax in February and March and I only had to pay £56 in January because I had overpaid due to lower band here and getting back single person discount. Utilities have also lowered my payments again as I have a large credit - I know I could claim it back but I'll leave it there for the moment.
184 Frog sorted
185 Some Annual bills paid - money decluttered
186 Birthday card posted - only one more in February
187 New savings account opened - I've opened two this month - should really close one which pays less interest
Sir Sox has started claiming surfaces above floor level - he will sit next to me in a different chair and got very annoyed last night when I sat in 'his' chair. He was sitting on my desk as well and has been on hall side table in the night as the cloth was wobbly and one box was teetering over the edge. I think I can expect to be woken by things that go bump in the night. He is still eating a lot but I am trying not to overfeed him. I am allowed to stroke him but he is not keen on being picked up - he allows me to do it but wants to be put down again quickly. He doesn't like doors being shut - he is racing round miaowing loudly at the moment for no good reason.2025 Decluttering Campaign 549/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Saturday: Having gone to bed before midnight last night, I woke up just before 07:00 feeling very thirsty, so now I am snuggled up in my dressing gown & have a large mug of tea. I was going to read my book but sanity has prevailed & I am going to play catch up with the cheerleading 😊
Excellent work QueenJess 👏 Hopefully This “I'm still chipping away at things. The way I am working at the moment is that in the evening I write a to do list for the next day (washing, make bread etc etc) with essentials and a small list of things from a longer list. Then when I get up in the morning I can blast through some of the list before I start work, do a bit more in my lunch time and then some after work so that I can finish the list before the kids are in bed and I can actually sit down. Not sure if I can keep this up once work gets busier, but it's working at the moment.” will continue to work for you 🤞 One medal🏅 coming your way for reaching your first ‘use up’ target 🥳
Florenceem, sorry to hear that MrF had a fall in the hospital 😞 You would have thought that the hospital might have mentioned it before they discharged MrF - regardless of the MRI etc 😠 Now that MrF is home, please please take care of yourself 🙏
Excellent decluttering CRANKY40 👏 Well done on keeping up with your target of 5 items per day aka 35 per week 🥳
Blue_Doggy, I do hope that as you were listing your “not a lot done lately” you realised how much you had decluttered & how many tasks you had completed 😊 Excellent work especially in the RoD 👏 I think This “……… many of us are pecking about at the edges trying to get order. I find that there’s so much to do that it doesn’t at present seem to matter where I dive in and do a bit, it’s a bit done even if not joined up to anything else. I just have to not reclutter that bit. My aim is as far as possible to handle things once only, not pick them up from here and put them down there but to put them in the right place straight away.” is very apt 😊 & a timely reminder that whatever method we choose to tackle the clutter, we are still successful declutterers 😊 please accept some 💐
Caught up just a little 🤞so will post & make myself another cuppa 😉
