Welcome to this thread

The main purposes of this thread are two-fold:
  1. To provide a list of the top regular savers currently on offer
  2. To provide a place for all forum users to discuss regular saver accounts and ask any questions about them that you may have
This thread is intended to complement Martin Lewis' article which you can read here: Regular Savings Accounts.

Structure of this thread

The first few posts shall contain a continually updated list of the top regular savers currently on offer and shall be regularly edited by myself to ensure it remains up to date.

I have included a summary of the terms and conditions of each account as these can be complicated with regular savings accounts. I would advise you to look at these terms and conditions to check that the account is suitable for you.

Unless indicated otherwise, you can only open one of each account.

Key updates to this thread are added to the The Archived History Of Regular Savers Thread *** NO CHAT***, thread, which runs parallel to this thread.

I am only adding accounts where the interest rate is 4.5% or better, or 4.3% if the account has favourable conditions (e.g. you can pay in £500 per month or more, the interest rate is fixed, or if the account matures after at least 2 years).

Thresholds for regular savers to be included in this thread are regularly reviewed by myself and may be altered at any point, if they are changed I shall post an announcement in both this thread and The Archived History Of Regular Savers Thread *** NO CHAT***.

I have divided up the information here into the following sections:
  1. Regular Savers Open To All  - Regular savers that are not restricted to those under the age of 21, has no postcode/regional restrictions and does not require you to have been an existing member for any length of time. This section does include accounts which require you to hold another current/savings account in order to open it so long as opening the other account immediately makes you eligible for the regular saver. This section has been split over 3 posts due to character limits on the forum.
  2. Local/Loyal/Beta/New Member Only accounts - Regular savers that are not restricted to those under the age of 21 but has postcode/regional restrictions and/or requires you to have been an existing member for any length of time or excludes existing customers from applying. This section also includes regular savers that have only been offered to selected customers including those which are in their beta phase.
  3. Children's regular savers - Regular savers that are restricted to those under the age of 21
  4. Recently No Longer Available accounts - These are accounts that have been withdrawn recently but which people may be in the process of applying for. When this post becomes long older entries on this list shall be transferred to new posts in the new regular saver thread and a link to these posts shall be included on the first page of The Archived History Of Regular Savers Thread *** NO CHAT***

How this thread operates

I am happy for people to use this thread to discuss the regular savers that appear on this list as well as any regular savers that have since been withdrawn but which continue to be held by some, this includes details of people's experiences of the maturity process of regular savers, but please try and limit discussion on this thread to regular savings accounts.

Whenever I make any changes to the first page of this thread I shall make a post detailing the changes in The Archived History Of Regular Savers Thread *** NO CHAT***, this includes but is not limited to a new account being added to the lists, an account being removed due to interest rate reductions or being withdrawn, interest rate changes and changes to the thresholds I set for inclusion to the lists.

Updates shall be made as and when it comes to my attention that new accounts have been launched, been withdrawn or have had their interest rates changed so in most cases both this thread and the no chat thread should be updated the day a change is reported in this thread.

If you notice a regular saver account that meets the criteria for being included on this thread that isn't already listed, you notice an account listed on this thread has just been withdrawn or an interest rate change is announced affecting any of the regular savers on this list then please feel free to post a message on this thread and/or on The Archived History Of Regular Savers Thread *** NO CHAT*** thread detailing the changes.

If you choose to post information on The Archived History Of Regular Savers Thread *** NO CHAT*** thread, please ensure that you only post the information listed in the above paragraph and nothing else. The no chat thread should NOT be used to discuss regular savers as that is the purpose of this thread so please keep any discussion surrounding the regular saver is confined to this thread only.

Alternatively you may write a separate thread and then post a link here if you wish.

Regular saver ISA accounts are not included in this thread as these have been included in Kazza242's long running Cash ISAs: The Best ISAs Currently Available List.

If you are not sure whether the best place for your money is in a regular savings account or another type of savings account then look at the article How to Start Saving

Whilst children's regular savers have been included I would strongly recommend that you read the section about the tax implications for interest from children's accounts in MSE's article Best Child Savings.

For those with a lump sum they wish to drip-feed into regular savers, please see the the MSE list of the best current accounts that pay interest . Alternatively you could place a lump sum in an easy access account and move money across to regular savers. See @soulsaver's existing Top Easy Access acs Ranked: Top of The Pots - **No Chat** thread for a regularly updated list of the top easy access accounts.

History & background of this thread

Thanks to numerous forum users for their contributions to this and previous versions of this thread over the years.

This is the 5th version of this thread.

The first four versions were maintained by @Special_Saver2 for over 17 years (due to technical issues, the thread has had to be re-started three times). The first version was before 2007, the second version lasted from 2007 to 2018, the third version was from 2018 to January 2020, the fourth version was from January 2018 to December 2024.

Previous threads run by @Special_Saver2 took the form of an introduction to regular savers with a list of the top regular savers with summaries of their Ts&Cs on page 1 of the thread, with the remainder of the thread devoted to discussing the accounts on the first page of the thread.

After the arrival of a baby daughter @Special_Saver2 took the decision to hand over the running of this thread to me in December 2024 so in order to spend more time with their family and I have maintained it since 28th December 2024.

Upon taking over the thread I restructured the first page of the thread, halving the number of sections from 8 to 4, relaxing the scope of what can be discussed in this thread to include accounts that have been withdrawn and their maturity processes.

I also took the decision that the existing ``
An Archived List Of Regular Saver Ts&Cs" thread should become an archive of any changes that happen to the top regular savers and be renamed to ``The Archived History Of Regular Savers Thread *** NO CHAT***" thread.

For a full summary of the changes I made on 28/12/24 see the link below:
