The Top Regular Savers Discussion Thread

Hi all,
I had my email from Zopa saying I was on their waitlist on the 12th of December, as I registered in the hope of being invited to open their 7.5% regular saver but I've still not heard anything from them. Should I have done something else? I log in every day.
Thanks so much

- Some will credit it dated as NYD and it'll earn interest from NYD
- Some will credit it dated as NYD+1 and it'll earn interest from NYD+1
- Some will credit it dated as NYD+1 and it'll earn interest from NYD
- Some will credit it dated as NYD and it'll earn interest from NYD+1
Personally, I'll just deposit on NYD for simplicity because I always do it on the 1st where possible, and the interest loss would be 0 as the funds would be sitting in my current account otherwise that day anyway.
If there was a definitive list, I'd certainly be interested in having a look, but the time it'd take for me to cross compare my list vs the crediting date list may not be worth it for a relatively small sum if my funds were to remain in savings for the extra day.
In short, if your funds are earning interest elsewhere currently, may as well not send deposits on NYD as a general rule of thumb - particularly for building societies. If you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

I opened this on the 03/12 and noticed today I had been paid interest of £1.49 on 27/12 which I was not expecting.
Did I miss the t&c which said interest paid monthly? Anyone shed any light?I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -

I have set up a “no chat” thread for people to post information about newly launched Regular Savings Accounts that meet the criteria of “Best Available” set by @Bridlington1 on the first page of this thread.
This thread is incredibly useful for people who want to discuss the best available accounts, but posts about new accounts are quickly lost in the chat. The intention of the new thread is that people will be able to subscribe to it and set up alerts so they are notified quickly when new accounts are launched. Any questions or discussion about any new accounts belongs on this thread.
Thanks again to @Bridlington1 for continuing the excellent work started by SpecialSaver2 so many years ago. I hope people will find a “no chat” thread useful.

First of all an apology from me, I probably didn't make my plans for The Archived History Of Regular Savers Thread *** NO CHAT*** thread clear enough and should've been more detailed and precise when I replied to you in the old regular savers thread on Friday.
I appreciate the sentiment with your no chat thread however I fear this new thread shall create rather a lot of unnecessary duplication given that the function it serves was intended to be served by the rebranded The Archived History Of Regular Savers Thread *** NO CHAT***.
As I stated on Friday in the old regular savers thread in response to a post you made (see sections in bold, underlined and italicised):
When I stated that ``I shall not be creating a new no-chat thread." I stated this because I wanted the existing archived thread to fulfil the function of a no-chat thread so there would be no reason to create a third thread. Thanks for the suggestion @Nick_C. I shall not be creating a new no-chat thread.
Instead I plan to rebrand the existing Archived List of Regular Saver Ts&Cs thread and run it parallel to the main regular savers thread to accommodate this function, the way this shall work is detailed below.
The main regular savers thread shall include a list of the currently available regular savers listed on the first page similar to the current regular savers thread we are posting in now and shall continue to be used for any discussion regarding regular savers as this thread is now.
A post detailing recently NLA accounts shall be included at the end of the main regular savers list, when this post becomes long older entries on this list shall be transferred to new posts in the new regular saver thread and a link to these posts shall be included on the first page of the Archived List of Regular Saver Ts&Cs thread.
Whenever a new regular saver is launched, goes NLA or rate changes are announced I shall make a post detailing the changes in the Archived List of Regular Saver Ts&Cs thread, in essence it shall serve the purpose it currently does but take on the additional function of being a defacto no chat regular saver thread. The Archived List of Regular Saver Ts&Cs thread shall be renamed to something along the lines of ``The Archived Regular Savers History Thread" and shall be marked more explicitly as a NO CHAT thread as this thread has expanded beyond just regular saver Ts&Cs since it was launched last year.
The way I intend The Archived History Of Regular Savers Thread *** NO CHAT*** to fulfil that function is as follows:- When a new regular saver is added to the list in this thread I shall make an announcement on the Archived thread stating which account I have added with a brief summary of the key terms.
- Whenever an on the list account goes NLA I shall make an announcement on the Archived thread stating which account has gone NLA
- If an interest rate change to any of the accounts on the list is announced I shall make an announcement on the Archived thread stating which accounts are affected and what the new rates shall be
You may maintain your own no chat thread if you wish but there seems little point as I shall be posting any updates to the regular savers included in the list in the main regular savers thread in the Archived thread anyway so it would essentially become duplication of the Archived thread.
Once again apologies for not making the above clearer two days ago.

The answer to your question depends on the bank/building society in question, some treat payments received on non-working days as having been received the next working day for interest purposes, others do not.
I shall go through the first post of the thread and add a remark to each listing to state how payments received into each account on non-working days are treated.
I'm at work tomorrow so this shall probably be finalised at some point late tomorrow evening (30/12/24) so you should know by New Year's Eve whether you should fund each account listed on the first page on New Year's Day or not.12 -

I've tried two different phones and can't get past the password/ questions section.
The section just goes red and says amend details.
No access to PC/tablet/laptop.

If I go to the Saffron website on my phone and click the 3 dots in the top right I have the option to select ``Desktop site", this alters the functionality of many websites on my phone to work in the same way as a laptop would (the text appears much smaller though so you'll probably have to zoom in to see anything).
After 40 minutes and a few different browsers I've called it a day.
BTW thank you for everything you do on the forum.1 -
