Can anybody tell me if it is possible  to apply  for Saffron building societys Small Saver £50 per month  via mobile, please?

I've tried two different  phones and can't get past the password/ questions  section.
The section  just goes red and says amend details.

    No access  to PC/tablet/laptop.

"You can open the account online, in branch, by post."  If you don't have access to PC/laptop/tablet you can still open the account online using browser on your phone. I think calling Saffron should work too.

    Zopa Regular Saver

I opened this on the 03/12 and noticed today I had been paid interest of £1.49 on 27/12 which I was not expecting.

Did I miss the t&c which said interest paid monthly?  Anyone shed any light?

    From the terms:

  • At the risk of showing just how thrilling I'm expecting my New Year's Day to be, is it pointless sending faster payments over to any regular saver on New Year's Day?

New Years Day should be fine as most institutions have a change freeze over this period so Faster Payments should not be down for any maintenance anywhere. It’s weekends you have to watch out for! For info, Faster Payments is a 24 Hour x 7 Day x 365 Day service.

I thought @powersavingmode was more referring to deposits arriving on the next working day, as New Year's Day is a non-working day, and therefore the interest loss/lack of interest on that day. Maybe not though, idk

Spot on. I confused myself, too! So pointless sending over a deposit on NYD...
