GetRichOrDieSaving said:West Brom RS
I picked up a EA to later receive a RS through eligibility. Jumped all the hoops to set up, then had to ring a number to set up online banking. Spoke to a lovely member of staff and confirmed all security questions, and was passed on to an automated call to set up a security number which was never picked up.Went through this process twice with West Brom and now given up completely. I will let me EA go unfunded and close due to lack of funding.Beware! My online banking was easy to set up online.0 -
I've also found West Brom easy and straightforward to deal with. I don't mind waiting a few days for them to sort out the account. After all £3000 @ 6% is only 50p a day and they are a building society so won't have banking over a weekend. I'm grateful for the opportunity to hold another account paying a fixed 6%.2

I already have MHBS RS Issue 1.I have sucessfully applied for MHBS 1Year RS Issue 2 using the link on the previous Regular Saver thread. However, I now have 2 customer numbers. One with Issue 1 and with Issue 2. Is this potentially a problem?I intend to fund Issue 2 with £240 on January 2 and reduce my SO for Issue 1 to £10 from January 25 to November 25 thus complying with the £250 maximimum contibution in a month. Then after Issue 1 matures in November 25 I will increase Issue 2 SO from £240 to £250 until March 26.

Plenty accounts out there to fund, more than my means. This wasn’t aimed at an intentional dig at WB, just sharing my experience.3 -
This might be useful to anyone who is holding:Interest rate: 6% gross p.a. fixed
Monthly payment: £25-£250 per calendar month
Miss any payments: No stated penalty for missing any payments
Penalty-free withdrawals: Yes, as many as you wish
Age of applicant: Aged 16 years or over
How to open account: Branch or online
Length of account term: 12 months from the date of opening

Special conditions: You must have a TSB current account to open this account. If you close your Monthly Saver before the end of the 12 month term, you won't be able to open another account before the first anniversary of this account.Around 7-10 days before your old RS matures, the system will allow you to open a New RS without any issues.Mine was due to mature on 6th December and I opened a new RS on the 28th November which was fully funded from my TSB current account on the 29th. I then subsequently changed the automatic set-up monthly deposit date to the beginning of the December onwards, also without issue.~ NSD 2025 - NSD March 16/20 💸🧘🏻🌞🐸# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £2999.93 / £2025 (133%) 💰🤑⭐️💯🥇 CGTT# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £262.29 / £667.95 💰💰💰# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £347.50 / £730 💰💰💰# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £7423.18 / £12,000 💰💰💰# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1045.23 / £1,378 💰💰💰~ Save on Essential Household Expenses 2025: £3310.53 / £3000 💰💯🥇~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺~ Decluttering Awards 2025: ☕️☕️🏅🏅☕️☕️☕️⭐️☕️🤣17 -
Principality appear to have closed down the duplicate saver loophole for maturing products now. Offered RS maturity products are now the standard 1 year RS bond, or the Christmas 2025 saver, and once logged in I’m prevented from opening another of the latter as I already hold one.EDIT: I was sent the T&Cs for the 6 month saver as a choice in the post, but that had been removed from maturity options by the time I checked online6
