Only worked that one out when they transferred £150 back to me when I accidentally transferred two payments from one current account, but not when the payments were made from separate current accounts. Not sure if this’ll benefit anyone but will help me get to the 5k limit a little quicker.

While I doubt paying in twice will work I have wondered if on the first day of the month you could increase the balance to £5000 and then on the final day withdraw all that was invested less £150 - thereby having £5000 earning the interest but still complying (possibly!) with the Ts and Cs.
I have found it possible in the past to withdraw from the account and pay same amount back in as well as paying in the £150
Mine are full otherwise I would try it one month0 -

West Brom reg saver
West Brom 6% RS, it appears a bit of a faff to setup. My old one matured a week ago and I had to contact them to get my money moved out. No notification it had matured.I then applied for a new one and had to fill in online form and send copy of signature.
I don’t remember all this malarkey when I opened the first one, and how long do you have to wait for the account to open, how does it work?
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.3 -

Mine matured today - I closed it online and asked for proceeds to be sent to my nominated bank - still showing live so presumably will need to wait til next week for proceeds.
I then completed a new application and sent copy signature - email & text confirmed application received - last year took 4 days for account to be opened but non banking days involved again so doubt I will get in a December payment unfortunately1 -
NatWest
When first launched, it was 50 a month. I did manage to pay in 500.
When it changed to 150 a month, I did try and pay in four figures but they returned the excess a few days later. Didn't ever try again, as that would have been 'repeatedly'.
Never tried paying from multiple, or external accounts.0 -
I closed my matured west brom rs on friday morning and asked for balance to be sent to my nominated account. I got a text message about 30min later (before 9am) that the account was closed. However the proceeds are yet to arrive, I assume west brom is one of those annoying institutions who close immediately but pay the following working day, so I suspect the proceeds will arrive monday. So I guess my money is not earning interest over the weekend, if I had realised I would have waited until monday to close.

West Brom RS
I picked up a EA to later receive a RS through eligibility. Jumped all the hoops to set up, then had to ring a number to set up online banking. Spoke to a lovely member of staff and confirmed all security questions, and was passed on to an automated call to set up a security number which was never picked up.Went through this process twice with West Brom and now given up completely. I will let me EA go unfunded and close due to lack of funding.Beware!1
