It's worth finding. 28 watts is 0.7kWh per day, roughly one-fifth of the OPs entire electricity use.

    Exactly my concern

    Unimpressed with the home mini

To start with - I expected it to show todays usage as a graph - it only shows data from 2 days ago !
It should show today's use, for example ..

Not today's or yesterdays - latest available is 2 days ago - both gas and electricity
I will ask Octopus what's going on
They won't (be able to) tell you. They'll say to check by turning things off and on.

Switch everything off at the consumer unit and count the metrology light flashes described in the Meter Sanity Test.

Yes but that draws a tiny amount too
I guess that the sky box and router together must equate to around 20 watts?
It just seemed rather a lot to me!!

A tablet and a phone as well as a laptop (on battery)

https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2024/03/the-2024-electricity-costs-of-big-uk-isp-home-broadband-routers.html suggests 6-10Wh depending on load (pure wifi uses quite a bit more power than a hard wired connection).

    Update :
The home mini has now been running for over two weeks and still is over 24 hours behind with electricity  readings and 48 hours behind with gas !!
It does show "live consumption" accurately.
Octopus told me to move the device closer to the meter - but the green LED is lit on it already and the live reading being correct - so not a signal issue and we have no sockets closer (it is 12 feet away as the octopus swims)
Anyone got any further suggestions ?
For example - this morning (07 Jan) - it still hows yesterdays electricity thus...
