Do you mean a Home Mini? They're the mutts. Means you can get real time consumption on your phone or PC, amongst other things.
  • Yes - it must be a Mini - already have an IHD
I requested one 12 months ago + and finally received an email today - from Royal Mail - informing me of an octopus package arriving tomorrow 2 + 2 makes 4 !!
  • The other option could be an accessible IHD which apparently they're trialling, but presumably you'd remember if you requested one of those (and one would hope it wouldn't take an entire year to arrive!).

Have had a Home Mini for a few months now. Not hugely impressed with it... You have to use the app to set it up, and unless you have geolocation enabled, you can't get the darned thing configured (had to fake geolocation on my tablet).
Data via the web site (on a PC) is at least a day behind, so hardly "real time". Via the app, it shows today's usage, but I dislike apps...

  • You can see the instantaneous usage on the PC. It varies slightly from the IHD because, I think, the sampling intervals are different.

Yes, you get current usage of electricity on the web site. But if you want the bar charts for gas or electricity, the best you can do is yesterday.

I thought that a normal IHD diisplayed usage virtually up to date ?
Mine does lag behind by a few minutes (especially gas) but not days or even hours ?
I thought that was the point of them - to show usage in a real time basis?
  • Something I did discover, recently, is that you can still see the last half-hour consumption vis Home Mini, when your mobile phone mast is off-line. The traditional IHD doesn't work without a mobile signal.
