When you get your electric car and heat pump, you'll be able to see monitor how much they're using.
This is the best (or only good?!) usage for my IHD - I can tell when the car is charging - and therefore when I'm in a 7p per KwH period. Seeing the red light is easier than keeping checking the latest amendments to the car charging schedule during the evening/morning.

If the Home Mini could show the current rate that would be brilliant. Sometimes the car reaches full charge by, say 7am, but the app shows a half hour scheduled charging slot between 8:30am and 9:00am - but I don't know if this actually ends up as a 7p period.

Here's my usage - showing missing two days !
    Thaat's from Octopus's website?
In the Octopus app on your phone/tablet, you should be able to see an extra "live" screen, and switch between a 30-minute view (one bar per minute) and a 5-minute view (one bar every 10 seconds).

This is normal. This is the website, it will always lag at least 1 day behind. Electricity normal adds yesterday but about this time . Gas usual has a 2 day lag.

Then the mini is activated you’ll have a new ‘live” tab that will show you a day view, you can also scroll back through earlier days if you really wanted to.
  • I have an electric wheelchair with Lithium batteries (2 * 12 volt 35Ah)

What would be the expected charge rate in Watts ?

Mine is currently charging at around 150 watts, according to the LIVE tab - which seems low to me

The total capacity of your batteries is 840 watt-hours. If the charger is sized to fully charge the batteries over a period of eight hours, that would be 105 watts plus any charger losses.

    Seems reasonable enough.

The charger is the original supplied with the chair

    Not 8 hours though
    More like 1/2 hour
It doesnt hold its charge and I was assuming that the NEW batteries are already past it
    This proves it!!

A thirty minute charger would be drawing 1700 watts and putting out 140 amps at 12 volts. It would need a battery cable as thick as jump leads :open_mouth:
What's the rating on the charger label?

The rating on the charger will still tell you how much power it uses / delivers :)

Another question - what is the button on the mini for ?
    Is it a reset ?
I am seeing a constant redish/white on the LED and also am unable to get any data since installation, yesterday
Weirdly - data is available prior to yesterday
However LIVE USE appears OK - approx 17 watts
Still unable to see any data from Thursday, Friday or Today (gas or electricity)
