    Go to your consumer unit. Switch circuits off one by one, leaving the circuit with the Mini and your broadband router until last. Watch the watts and see if they fall with each circuit.

    Switch each circuit breaker off individually, until the load disappears. Obviously you'll need the keep the ring main the HM is plugged into live, but you'll know the load is on that circuit if you've eliminated all others.

    It's worth finding. 28 watts is 0.7kWh per day, roughly one-fifth of the OPs entire electricity use.

    I assume some sort of observer effected has been ruled out? The IHD/Octopus mini is consuming that energy?

    Someone said in a recent thread (maybe even this one) that the Mini draws a watt or less. The IHD shouldn't be more than a watt or two either, and can be unplugged for this test.

    Not today's or yesterdays - latest available is 2 days ago - both gas and electricity
    I will ask Octopus what's going on
