Because I like to log progress (and I'm a nerd), I'm going to add a sheet into my Shopping spreadsheet to log daily OS things I've done.

Today: saved 2 sliced sausages for a risotto (labelled and in freezer bag), used up an elderly yellow pepper and a couple of garlic cloves, made breadcrumbs from 2 stale crusts to go on a veggie pasta bake with some Christmas leftover cheese.

Happy Birthday Mr Penguin. :bdaycake:
I'm happy to hear your Dnephew is improving Pipkin. :j

My Dbrother drove all the way from Northern Ireland to the Scottish Highlands yesterday to spend Hogmanay with us and he has just left. icon9.gif It would have been rude not to join him in a wee dram.;) At the last count I had 2 large G and Ts, half a bottle of red, one bottle of cava and half a bottle of baileys. :o I also made Bailey's coffee, Bailey's cheesecake and Bailey's truffles. :D I think my New year's resolution is to never drink Baileys again as long as I live. **insert vomiting at 5am smilie in here** :o:o:o

No OS today and our steak pie has been postponed as I appear to be welded to my sofa. :D

Inspector Churchmouse of the yard....You can tell your DS is a copper can't you? :DPP...I'm amazed there are still people about who don't have secure networks.

Pink .....Next time you ask Mr Pink to cut your hair make sure his idea of 2 inches and yours are the same. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :p

I feel sick again so I'd best be off.

See that's where you went wrong, Haribo, too much of a mixture:rotfl: Just stick to bottles of Chablis and cava, oh and one bottle of champagne, and you're fine:D Sleep late, but no vomiting;) Mind you, I haven't faced the neighbours yet. I'm sure I do remember everything:o Silly dancing isn't really embarrassing is it?

As for Pink's hair, well you'd have thought it'd would have been barely touched, the tiny amount most men are convinced is 6 inches!!!!(or more!!!!!) :rotfl: :rotfl:

My first loaf is in my new Panny. It's got 40 minutes to go. Why am I convinced it will be a disaster? I can smell yeast, I only used the specified amount:confused: I think I'm worrying too much:o

    Bye for now,

    Evening all
    Happy New Year
    Welcome to the newbies.
You can tell the lodgers back, I've only just managed to bully her off the computer.
Still on the bright side, the decs & tree are all cleared away till next year, I've vacuumed through & done loads more decluttering. I've also finished reading the Deathly Hallows, which my DD lent me on Christmas day.
We had Thai style chicken today, I have a list in the kitchen of the 30 meals I'm cooking this month, I checked with the lodger & the only one she'd eat, so that's the one I cooked. Not sure what she's doing for the rest of the month, lol.
Have a good evening one & all.
    Hugs Hester

    Wow!

I plan to be apart of the daily thread everyday this year (if I can!).
I hope it will keep me motivated and encourage me with all your ideas and inspirational cooking/cleaning/organisation generally!

I am so impressed that so many people have got Christmas clearing up done and dusted I haven't even started and still want to snuggle up on the sofa with the family for a film, some choc and a drink!
Mental note to self will not lose any weight if I carry on with this lifestyle!

Happy New Year to you all and I look forward to sharing in your daily life!

    Good evening everyone.
Well I gave up and went to bed this afternoon. I had a blinding headache and I couldn't get warm so I had a couple of hours tucked up under the duvet.

Got up again at 6 and OH is cooking tea. :D So it will have to be the lamb roast tomorrow night. I still have to check out stock levels in freezer and stock cupboard so that I can plan the shopping for the month -for my grocery challenge.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
Hardup Hester. I hope you soon find a decent lodger so you can get rid of your [STRIKE]strange[/STRIKE] current one :D

Well tea's ready so I'd better go and eat!!!

I've done it:j :j :j I've made a loaf of bread! Well to be more accurate the Panny has:D It's amazing, it looks like bread, it smells like bread, and DH says it tastes like bread:rotfl: I used my very sharpest knife to carefully cut him a slice and he's had it slathered with butter! I had a tiny morsel plain:rolleyes: My tiny morsel was good, I shall have a proper slice once it's cooled properly.

I know I'm a big girl's blouse, but I needed to share my success:o (you'd never think I have made bread by hand, would you:rotfl: )

    Just popping in again!
Went to Homebase and finished some touch up painting in the bathroom, masking taped all of the woodwork in the hallway, ready for the painting I'm doing tomorrow, after some of the marking I've told myself I need to do! Lots of mock GCSE papers to do... I wanted to start this evening but there was a bottle of wine smiling at me and I promise I won't have much [STRIKE]just finish this bottle[/STRIKE]

I'm watching my friend get married in 10 mins, she's getting wed in Vegas and it has online streaming, yay. So I have the wine ready (obv) and wil nick the tissues from OH if I get too tearful!

Not quite sure what we'll be eating tonight after the wine I've been drinking, we'll prob just snack on stuff until OH decides that he's hungry and I'll bung something or other in the oven... he loved what I made last night (bashed out chicken breast with one slice of bacon-served 2, with reduced potatoes, veg and gravy, yum!) so maybe I'm doing OK!

    Have a good evening!
