HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! At least I think it is - I went to bed at 4.30 (nothing exciting, just got stuck on the computer) and was kissed awake by a cat at 7.30 so I'm somewhat bleary-eyed.

2007 was the year I decided I'd go under if I didn't sort out some kind of system instead of panicking and doing it all when things got desperate. I'm off work till next Monday and am carrying on with the decluttering and springcleaning; the kitchen cupboards and drawers have been emptied, scrubbed, rearranged, new equipment bought, old equipment chucked out or given away. Today's jobs are to tackle the two freezers, scrub walls, cupboard fronts and wash the floor.

I have a laundry pile as big as a small mountain which I will tackle; will it dry if I hang it outside today? No rain due but I've never dried outside in winter.

    Good morning everyone,

HAPPY NEW YEAR - i hope everyone had a lovely evening.

Welcome to all the new/non regular posters - i hope you stay and continue to post. Im an old regular who tends to post most days, and normally its a load of old drival, so dont worry about what you post, sometimes you just need to post something to make yourself feel that you have done something!!! (does that make sense? well i did say i post drival!!!)

Anyway - more drival from me now - Had a lovely peaceful evening last night, just me and my 2 - we had some nice nibbles including revels - so we did the 'revel challenge' see who would get the first coffee!!!! DS lost spectacularly, had about 5 coffees on the trot, but it was good fun. I let them stay up til midnight, where we watched the fireworks on the telly and then off to bed - DD is up with me now, but DS hasnt surfaced yet. Will be waking him in a minute, if i let him sleep too late he wont sleep tonight.

Today we are having a pyjamma day - although i am doing a big New Years lunch of roast duck - my favourite - and then we will prob have nibbles again this evening. Im back at work tomorrow (boo) so will be doing not a lot today. Oh, apart from take the Christmas tree down, all the other cards and decs have gone, just the tree now, although i love christmas, once its over, im so glad to get rid of the evidence of it all!!!!

Ok, going to finish my cuppa, have a teacake for breakfast (picked up 2 packs of 4 for 6p a pack yesterday!!!) and get DS up.

Have a lovely day, whatever you have planned,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Happy New Year to all of you..had a quiet night, watched the Simpsons movie with dh and ds and then the twins (21 months) woke with the fireworks at around 10pm so had all 5 of us in bed for an hour or so!! got a reasonable night but the girls had me up at 6.30 so considering they had been awake in the night, I was a bit dissapointed...never mind..

I plan to get to grips with the grocery spend this year, I have made a start but still loads I could do, like more batch cooking etc...

Hope to get out with the kids for a walk today, dh works 6 days a week normally early till late, so nice to have had him home for a few days...

Thanks to all of you on here for helping me save so much in 2007 and heres hoping 2008 will be even better...

Good morning all and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone! We saw the New Year in quietly - just the two of us. Well, I say quietly - the neighbourhood exploded with fireworks and ships horns from the docks which went on for ages. We could still hear fireworks at 2.30! They know how to welcome in a new year with a bang round here! I spent most of the afternoon and evening dozing on the sofa - this illness has left me feeling exhausted - but DH woke me up just before midnight so I didn't miss the start of 2008!

I will continue with my OS adventure this year because I learned a lot and saved a lot last year thanks to everyone on here. I have lots of plans to save even more money and become even more organised, but first I need to get shot of this bug which has been getting at me for the last two weeks and keeps making me feel worn out.

We have DS1, DIL and the grandchildren coming round this afternoon - they can pull the rest of the crackers and take the balloons home with them. We usually leave the decorations up until 6th January but I may take them down tomorrow - I feel like I want to get everything back to normal now and I love how clean and tidy the house looks once they have been put away. It's not been the best Christmas due to me being ill so I think I'd rather look forward to the next one now!

I have a huge pile of ironing that I must do today - I haven't done any for ages; I may just be able to talk DH into doing some as well.

Anyway, I'm going to have a shower now and will try and pop back in later. If I don't get another chance on here today, I just want to say to everyone - and their families - a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR and thanks to you all for your support, kind thoughts when I've been in need, and all your MSE advice. Roll on a fantastic new year for us all!

Morning to everyone.new and old posters!
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my os friends, i hope this year is wonderful for you all!!

Went to bed at 1am, all 4 kids managed to see the new year in, we played the csi board game i had for xmas and it was a great game, think this will become one of our favourites.
Some friends of ours came round at about 9.30pm and saw the new year in with us which was nice as they have all been ill over xmas and its the first time we have seen then for a while.

Today the last of the decs are coming down and a big clean up, get our self back into a rountine again. Dh back at work tommorow, so we will have a huge roast pork dinner later and then enjoy his last evening off for a while.
    Have a lovely day

    Happy new Year
    to you all.
 May 2008 be your year

Well, today's the day for making changes, and for me, the main ones are to become more organised and lose the extra stone [probably 2 after my christmas feast] in weight I'm carrying.
Getting organised means reducing clutter, having a proper place for everything, filing paperwork and making better use of our time.
Losing weight means a trip to MTC's no more pies and OS weight loss thread for support - but rather than diet, I'm going down the healthy eating route.
OS will play a big part for us in 2008. I want to start saving for a trip to disneyland, so will be meal planning, trying the grocery challenge and making savings wherever I can in this next year.
Today I need to tackle under the stairs, give everywhere a polish once DD has vacuumed and will be taking the trees down. Hopefully, we will also fit a walk in there this afternoon.
Nephew is on the mend thankfully, so we're off to a good start.
    Enjoy your day everyone.

  • well, not been on for a while, was trying to cut done on computer time.............. anyway, to let you all know, my broken toe has never healed, so I'm going in to a private hospital on Fri, the 4th, to have it taken off above the break, so I'll have 9 +1/3 toes by fri afternoon. My employer is looking into paying for all or part of the OP, so that helps financially. I should be back at work by the end of Jan, all going well. One of my colleagues suggested I should keep the cut off bit and have it in a jar to show passengers that don't behave it saying 'this is what's left of the last passenger that messed me around!' LOL

    HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

    Morning all

Odds-n-sods - very very good luck with your op

Todays plans are pretty mcuh the same old same old - flyladying, washing etc. I will also try and start the packing today for friday. I have mixed feelings about this trip now as my dbro had a miserable time there over xmas but he was there with only his dgf and we are going in a crowd. Also we have rented a house so we have our own bolthole and won't be on top of everyone. dbros gf is veggie like dd11 and was made to feel like a faddy eater and offered an omelete every day. The same thing happened to dd11 when she went to her dad's after christmas. the roasties were cooked in goose fat and when she asked if there was alternative as there would be at my house she was told to let it go just for one day or go without.

Anyhoo this isn't getting that bedding washed - have a good day
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008
