Hello all and Happy New Year.
Last year was a year of me falling over and hurting my shoulders........then trying to lift something I should have know was too heavy thus pulling a sciatic nerve in my lower back...............several sessions of aromatherapy massage sorted out but at £15 a time I want to avoid that again !
Then I tripped over something in the house and tore a ligament in my ankle ! Still painful but with the help of a tubigrip bandage I can at least walk around the town now.
Mum had a stroke a few years back and this year has been quite poorly so a lot of time and money went on going to see her at the care home and having to stay in b & b. That will have to continue obviously.
But for this year................
No falling down -it's too painful and I can't afford the treatment or the taxi
fares to ferry me about
Carry on de-cluttering..............it'll take time but desparately needs doing
Plan well ahead for birthdays and christmas -doing baskets and boxes with recycled stuff (i.e. charity shops.............they're brilliant !)
Mortgage will be paid off in October (thank goodness) so I can re-think my life a bit more then.
Intend to go to Liverpool (OH's home town) and make the most of the City of Culture
Must go and see my son in Sussex..........haven't been for about 5 years now..........it's too far to visit for a day or even a weekend really and I've just not been able to fit it in with visiting Mum and MIL. and accomodation isn't cheap in the Worthing area. Hoping to get an offer through either Travel Lodge or The Sun (They're doing Haven Holidays again apparently)My sons flat is way too small to accomodate us.
Am also going to make it a regular date with a disabled friend of mine to once a week have a card making session at her house...........be good for her and will get me out of the house a bit more.
Whether the year will go according to plan depends on so much, my Mums health, MIL's health and other things that might crop up but I think it's good to have something to look forward to at this time of the year.
Spring is just around the corner:jMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Happy New Year one and all!
I count as an occasional poster on this board, but am hoping to become more of a regular, as I adopt more OS principles. I have done reasonably well in 2007, but want to do better, particularly in sticking to my grocery challenge figures, and with flylady where I have sadly failed at every attempt!!
Today though, is family day, we are going for a ski after lunch, and then I need to get all the childrens' kit named and packed ready for their big trip away - they are off to France skiing for 4 weeks on Saturday. Not that I am jealous or anything!!
Have a good day everyone xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Another one who usually lurks, just popping in to offer good wishes for the year ahead!
In 2008, I would like to see very much less of hospitals (two years of very poorly family), although there's not much I can do to achieve that!
For myself, keep on Flying, lose the extra weight due to overconsumption of chocolate in last two year! And get a new job.
Best wishes, SerenaIt is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Afternoon everyone and happy 2008:beer:
Well, our tree is down and all traces of Christmas gone, apart from the extra weight I've put on  again. So, once again my new year's resolution is to lose weight -yawn yawn:rolleyes:
I'm trying to use up all the Christmas food I've still got lurking around in my fridge. I'm dying to get back to more simple food. Desperately resisting the urge to purge my cupboards and fridge of what I think of as 'clutter food' -ie things I've bought because I read about it in a Nigella/Nigel/Hugh etc. It would of course be terribly wasteful to chuck perfectly good food and I will resist, but I'm longing for some simple food. I found this menu(Stonehead's menu) it sounds like my kind of thing.
Anyway we're off for a walk in the woods in a mo, blow away some cobwebs and all that

Hello all,
Happy New Year!!
Had a rubbish time at OH friends house last night  Never mind
Funny day today, wanted to get a lot done but probably won't. OH had paperwork to do this morning, then we are supposed to be going back to said friends for lunch. Will at least try and get the tree taken down later.
I have posted my New Years Resolutions on the OS NYR thread.
Back to work tomorrow.
Hope you all have a good day :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Happy 2008 to all OSers:j
Afternoon all :hello: :hello:
just landed back home after the most amazing new year ever. I went to the civil ceremony for my GBF and his partner yesterday and it was truly a fantastic day/night. Would love to tell you all but theres not enough posting room - suffice to say the mermaid, transvestite bouncer/dj, Abba and of course the topless gorgeous male waiters made the event extremely special:D (taking a sausage roll of their silver platters was quite stressful believe me:rotfl: ) No hangover due to copious amount of dancing taking up normal drinking time but my feet feel like 2 bits of battered haddock at the moment. The happy couple had a lovely day and Im so pleased for them - the ceremony was really emotional (thank goodness for waterproof mascara) and they had their mums give the speeches instead of the usual dad thing which meant more tears:D
Plans today will be to get the tree down when im done here and then maybe watch a soppy film or something.
Have a great day off everyone and enjoy the final dribs and drabs of the holiday
Hugs
