Good morning everyone
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all.
So glad its a new year now - a fresh start is what we need as we had a rubbish 2007.
Got the DW on, might put a load in the washing machine next and having roast lamb for dinner. Might even take the tree down today - finally!!! Dog needs walking so i think that little lot will take up a good part of my day.
Have a good day everyone and hugs to anyone who wants one.

Hi all :hello:
Happy New Year
Tip from me - when you've only had 3 and a half hours sleep, been awake since 3am and you've hardly eaten anything cos you're so tired that you can't be bothered to chew, don't decide that at 6pm it's a good idea to open a bottle of wine then move on to the bacardi then stagger round to see friends where there's a huge amount of mulled wine
I was falling asleep in the chair and had to leave by 10pm. They only live a mile away, the walk home was the longest mile ever :rotfl: They weren't actually having a 'thing' last night, we usually see them about once a week but hadn't seen them for a while so they rang and asked us to pop round for a cuppa
The DW has been emptied, the WM is about to go on and when I get around to getting dressed, I'm going out into the garden to throw the neighbour's fireworks back into their garden  If I find one in the pond, I will march round to their front door and shoot them. With mr tru's spud gun - yes, he really has one  :rotfl:
Off to make another coffee

Morning Everyone
Had a quiet night in watching Long Way Round on DVD one of my xmas presents.
Today we are going for a walk followed by a roast at my in-laws. Before that I intend to do the house basics followed by a bath.

:j HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!:j
I really hope that 2008 will be a great year for all of you. I love new beginnings and the feeling that this time I can change some things!
At the end of this year I shall be retiring, so I have to do loads of DFW and OS things to firstly pay off all outstanding debts and then make sure that we use what we have wisely. Thanks to all of you on here I know there'll be plenty of good advice and helpful suggestions.
Have a great day, all of you, and hopefully those feeling under the weather will soon be fine again.Resolution:

Happy New Year everyone

Just a quick post as I am nursing a little hangover this morning
(I know, I know.....but it's too late now!)
Aims for today are rather pathetic! Main one is to be awake until the kids go to bed (after that I will be a snoring heap on the sofa - very late night last night and about 3 hours sleep!), not spend any money so I don't ruin any challenges (not too hard as nothing is open around here) and to get the inventory done of the stupidly over-stocked cupboards (I was going to do this yesterday but never got round to it as I spent too much time on the internet:embarasse)
Have a good one and hugs to those who need / want one.0 -
Hi Guys!
Happy New Year!!
Having another lazy day today.
OH managed to get a reduced chicken yesterday, so having a full roast dinner about 1pm with all the trimmings.
DD hoovered through the bungalow, OH tidied through and put the WM on as he only bought 1 pair of jeans
...Im just about to have a hot soak in the bath and read some of my book.
Hugs to all.

Good morning everyone and hi to the new/non-regular posters.
A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL!
I went to bed feeling fine last night. About an hour later, I woke up in a sweat with a terrible headache and sore throat. Still have it this morning. Just as well I am not superstitious or I would believe that this is a very, very, very bad sign for the year ahead. :rotfl:
I have updated my monthly expenditure spreadsheet to show my debt decreasing each month (2 small debts, both with regular direct debit payments). I thought it would be an encouraging sight as the year goes on. I should be debt-free (except my mortgage) by August this year. :j :j Plan then is to start overpaying my mortgage with some of the saved money and build up an emergency reserve fund with the rest.
Feel rough but I really need to get DS's room finished - there's only the glossing to do. The way I feel today though, it feels as though I have the Forth Road Bridge to gloss. At least I got the uniforms ironed last night though so one less job to do.
Have a wonderful New Year's Day everyone. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Happy New Year Everyone!
Have only just surfaced as the neighbour's decided to have a party starting after they returned from the pub (gone midnight) which went on for a loooong time, so suffice to say that I had a disturbed night. As it was New Year's Eve I am not going to be a misery guts about it
pipkin, I was so glad to read yesterday that your little nephew is now on the mend, and I too need to start eating healthily. I am a paying member of one of the diet sites but I will need to cancel as I wish to save money this year towards debt repayment so I will be investigating the OS Weight Loss Thread too.
Odds n Sods, good luck with your op.
Today I need to carry on with the washing, I did 6 loads yesterday and I still have two large black sacks to go, (there's only the two of us). One positive is that I now know that we have plenty of clothes, it's just that they have been in the washing pile for simply ages. For some reason things really got on top of me last year and I struggled to keep on top of most things, I think I spent too much time worrying about work that it exhausted me, totally daft and 2008 is going to be different!
It's been lovely to read all the posts today, and I look forward to getting to know you all over the next few months.
Take care all.

Happy New Year to everyone. Had a lovely party last night, but, inevitably, not enough sleep. DH has opened his presents in bed and gone to have a shower. DS and I'll be making maple banana pancakes for breakfast.
Have a great day, and a fab year!
