Afternoon gang, happy new year. Hope everyone is happy, well and warm this afternoon. We watched Take That and some of the fireworks then went to bed. Was very quiet round here in the night(we normally have loads of idiots letting fireworks on the field at stupid o clock but either I was in a VERY deep sleep or people behaved. Casrina poor you it's not just the damage it's the shock. Glad you and your DH weren't hurt.
As for resolutions well to be honest there are so many areas that I REALLY have to improve I decided not to do anything specific like a list(and in not doing so have saved the equivalent of a small Norwegian forest's worth of paper. Just will try harder in everything really. LOADS of things need sreious wrok. To be honest I know that this year will be a very significant one for a number of reasons. I don't want to go into why on such a public forum for various reasons(and stuff is nowhere near being sorted at the mo anyway) but will let you know as soon as i have something concrete in place. Also I will gladly let you know via PM's no problem! Actully thats one thing that is improving The PM's are now(or seem to be)fully working its just me being a chicken!!! I am opening them and clearing them 2 at a time as when hte problems started it was when I was doing a batch if you see what i mean.(only 94% full now:j :j :rotfl: )
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR PENGUIN:bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake: Hope you have a lovely day. Oh am being shouted. will come back shortly to do my messages. A XXXX

I've taken the mistletoe and holly down, chopped it up and put it in a huge sack, ready for composting. I've saved the mistletoe berries, does anyone know - if I smear them onto a tree, will they grow?

The cards are down, I'm going to cut them into gift tags in a bit. I've got a scruffy little tree that's years old, I got it for the kids when they were little for them to decorate. It's finally going in the bin :D I bought a real one just before Christmas, it's 18 inches tall and very cute :D That'll be their replacement, I just need to learn how to look after it now  :D

All of my kitchen cupboards are cleaned out and sorted :T

I've been saving all my empty milk cartons (6 pinters) for a while, I've just cut them in half to make pots for my seeds out of the bottoms and funnels out of the tops :T

I can't wait to get out in the garden and tip out the compost bins, I have three. I want to give them a good 'stir' then chuck it all back in :D Probably won't have a chance to do it til the weekend though.

    Afternoon all,
Well i started off really well and emptied the dishwasher and washing machine and sliced the lovely loaf from the BM.
I even washed all the worktops and some more pots then we had huge bacon egg & mushroom sandwiches on the new bread and now i`m stuffed and don`t want to move lol :D

Hopefully i`ll move soon but my excuse for now is catching up on here and then i`m going to run through my meal planner.
    Have a good afternoon everyone!

Happy New Year Everyone New/regular & Non-regular Posters Alike.

    Happy Birthday Mr Penguin.

Back from our 'vanning New Year Rally, very OS. Last night was a American Supper with far too much food, take your own drinks, and a Disco. Even did the Gay Gordons - no comments regulars.

Must get in gear now, so that I am washed up to date, packed and ready to go on Thursday. Been using up for last few days, now left with 1 pack of 3 peppers and some wilted celery, together with a portionof Edam Cheese. Any suggestions on to how I can use that up?

Real festive tea tonight, Beans on Toast with a Poached Egg. One of our favourites.

DH going to take down cards and tree, while I sort out some of the packing.
WM on - first load just finished.

One more mortgage payment left now.

Another yawn here, guess what weight loss on the agenda. First Goal 1 st off by the time I come back in March.

    (((hugs))) to those feeling fragile.

    Take care

Well the reason I was being shouted was interesting-we had a Sparrow Hawk sitting on top of the wooden mushroom and a very interested(not in am eating way-even if he could!!) Norwegian forest cat(Rupert) sitting gazing up at him. Was lovely but sadly the camera was totally flat and all I managed with my phone was a shot of the kitchen window!!!! We often get visits but when they are hunting, the only time I ahve seen one sitting on the ground or the composter which they seem to like is when they were dining(not too fab a sight) but this one was just sat there for about 20 minutes.

    Right where was i ?

Happy New Year everyone, new and old posters!

Have had a very quiet new year so far, which is very much to my taste, can't bring my self to celebrate at this time of year...as I get older there are too many people missing each year so find it rather sad.

Hoping to continue saving money and making friends here, looking forward to 6 weeks in Australia in May/June, hoping to lose some weight OS way before then. Am also planning to declutter and sort my clothes so that there will be no need to spend on clothes in 2008.

Have only read beginning of thread as am off in a few minutes to DD3 and DDIL2 for the evening.

    Have a good day everybody

Wishing you all health, wealth and happiness for 2008:beer:

Breadmaker is on, lounge cleaned and tidied, gammon is boiling away on the stove, we are having roast gammon and all the trimmings for dinner. Kids are merrily playing on the Wii, and i'm enjoying reading and posting on Old Style, so nice to be here:cool:
Trying to be frugal and sensible with my pennies.
