Interest was £96.35, not the 95 so that explains the 60p.

    #024 declaring £2,889 for December.

Realised I had some balances in current accounts (with attached regular savers) that I had forgotten about!

Overall savings figure has been disappointing for 2025. Will take some time to re-think what I'm reporting as to date I've been quite lazy and not reporting any mortgage overpayments or pension contributions.

Maybe from 2026 I'll include those which boost my overall saving numbers! See you in the 2026 thread!

    Happy new year, all!

I've been really bad at keeping this thread up to date – my apologies. The year ended quite differently to how I'd planned: my job ended unexpectedly, and while another arrived shortly after, it really threw off my financial plans for November and December. Times like this make me glad I've built a safety net, even if dipping into savings I've worked hard to build isn't pleasant!

Anyway, I owe a few months of updates, so here they are:

    October: £2,497 November: £100 December: £100

Grand total for the year: £27,209.40 – 136.05% of my original goal :)

Best of luck to anyone doing this again for 2026

    Save £12k in 2023 #51 - £20,411.96 / £15k (136.08%)
    Save £12k in 2024 #24 -
    £19,331.23 / £20k (96.66%)
    Save £12k in 2025 #53 - £27,209.40 / £20k (136.05%)

Happy New Year sorry have been so rubbish at updating I think I just need to do December then I should be up to date.

Basically it is just interest on my savings accounts until the money is invested as I have left my job as per December to go self employed.

TallGirl #49 savings £956 for December.

Thanks for the update @TallGirl - I have added it to the spreadsheet here and the archive version on the 2026 spreadsheet over on the new thread. Good luck with your new work status! Maybe see you back on the challenge when things have settled a bit
