I give details below of the savings challenge I have been running this year and will continue to run next year with the help of @Suffolk_lass

This is the new Challenge thread for savers in 2025. The aim is to get more people saving throughout the year and this thread gives a space for people to record their progress.

The challenge starts on 1 January 2025 and finishes on 31 December 2025.

You can save £12k or any other amount you decide to set as a target.  You can change your target at anytime.

Please post on this  thread if you want to join in next year with your target amount and we will allocate numbers in the New Year which you should quote when posting.    Most people update monthly but feel free to update more frequently if you wish.

Here is a link to the spreadsheet to check on progress through the year.

Savers who have not updated or posted by the end of February will be removed from the challenge.

I’d like to continue for 2025 please.

I exceeded my 2024 target so will increase to £6,000. I thought about trying £10K but if rates fall I won’t have a prayer (did quite well with Premium Bond prizes in 2024.)
  • Hello everyone.

Please put me down for £36,000, which will be tough for me to achieve but includes absolutely everything that I'm saving. I have no work pension so this is almost all going towards investments for my retirement.
No.13 in the 2025 saving money challenge. Target £36,000.

    Monthly grocery budget challenge: £720

NSD challenge: target 10 a month

Fat loss quarterly challenge: 21%body fat to 17%.
