Wow @mothernerd. You were either up very late or up early! Take care of yourself.I forgot to post this yesterday…Today was NSD 2 for me. I had the pleasure of working from home with my lovely OH. I got two full washings done and dried thanks to the warm wind. I also popped over to TeZko to pick up a VntD order—a sweater for DS4 to keep him warm in the chilly months ahead. While I was there, I withdrew £20 from the ATM to replace 20 pound coins I took from DS’s piggy bank. He was quite happy getting a crisp £20 note in exchange. I need the coins to give him his £3 pocket money each week if he completes his daily tasks, like putting away his washing, setting the table mats at breakfast, and keeping his toy box tidy. It's definitely harder to teach kids about money these days since we live in such a cashless society. I've always enjoyed saving and want to pass that on to DS. I think my saving muscle came from my Nana and Gran. My Nana used to love saving 20p coins, she said because they added up quickly. She would take me and my cousins on day trips to Blackpool, each of us with our own little pouch of 20p coins. One time, I had a whole £8 and spent it all on a fluffy white toy cat as soon as we got off the bus! I had no money left for the rest of the day which felt awful. That was an early lesson in money management for me! However I did love that cat! And I wasn’t really without spending money because my Nana still bought me hotdogs, sticks of rock and gave me 2p coins to play the coin pusher machines! ☺️Today, I’m also working from home but will be logging off super sharp to go to a show with my best GF tonight.Have a lovely day, turtles!XNST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸9

Aww what a lovely memory @ldee2111
Cheers @apple_muncher for the reminder about fuel, as I rarely drive I had never thought about it!! that means I'm on NSD 2.
Yesterday was a very chilled day, I was working from home again but there wasn't much to do. I popped to the pool at lunchtime for a swim and then went to the supermarket in the evening to stock up on supplies for when my sister arrives tonight.
The little sausage dog I am looking after woke me up at 3am needing to pee... but it meant I got to look at the stars, which were amazing
Grateful for the stars, for animal company, for that first sip of coffee...
Hugs to @abundant1972, @mothernerd and anyone else who needs them xx

@mothernerd I think it is an excellent idea to get help with the rest of the probate tasks. This house business really seems to be getting you downPleasant dog walk this morningI have two whopping great bills to pay this week, and will probably do so later today, if the money is where it is supposed to be.I need to label and put away two batches of jam (putting some aside for DD), and make another batch, loganberry this time. I think I will have had enough of jam making for now, though I still have jam fruit in the freezerI also need to sort out the freezer to free up some space, pay the milk bill (which isn't one of the big ones), get a load of washing on, and do the normal tidying / chores / garden pot watering.Dinner will be easy - I will make a couscous salad to go with leftover cold chicken.Better get on with some of it!

How odd so many of us are feeling flat right now. At least it is cooler today (sorry for those in the Northern climes who have not had 20+ degrees for what seems like f-o-r-e-v-e-r!!), but sadly motivation has left me and shows no signs of coming back. I did just scrub the kitchen and dining room floors and do last night's washing up, so I have accomplished a few minor things.Wicked Little Letters is on N0tflix now, and that was a lovely waste of 2 hours (DHs account shared between the 6 of us), and Totally Completely Fine is distracting me (both very sweary and very funny)I cannot make my pay add up, but it is in my favour so I am keeping quiet. - I can't access Sage to check.Three weeks left of the Summer Holidays, so half way through. Is anyone else getting the 'things are going to have to change' vibes? I can't keep going on like this in our house.Apart from that, everything is fine! Bills paid, food in the cupboards, everyone is healthy, but I am permanently on edge.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today I am grateful for a chilled day, for time with pip, for dsd2 and family letting us take over their house for the last few days, for a lift to the airport tomorrow, for finally (nearly) heading home. We've had a fab time away, but I'm ready for my own house again, however muddled it might be after the new kitchen work.I'll see you all in a few days, as soon as my jetlagged brain will let me🤣NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!10

Well low mood and physical incapacity not withstanding I have ordered a repeat prescription, booked the bulky waste collection for Wednesday 28th - I remembered that they open for business at 8.30 am so was poised above the keyboard, taken a book back to the library, filled a form in to say that grandma's house is still unoccupied, checked in with the Council staff (at the library) to say I will be paying more Council Tax on grandma's house but have to await a new pin number. I put a can of drink in the food trolley (freebie with a meal and none of us can drink it). I also checked in with the bank staff (in the library from 10am until noon and then booked appointments until 1.30 pm) and she has ordered me another pin notification, added my mobile number to my account (I had my passport with me, they couldn't change it over the phone) so I might be able to order some food to be delivered as they can send a code to my phone to confirm that it's me. I also checked the procedure for paying for half a house if brother agrees to it. She nearly fell over when I outlined my brother's latest wheeze of getting me to sign a paper giving him half my profits if I sell within 10 years (she said illegal which is the word I've been using)
I would have taken a bag of food to the food bank trolley but we couldn't find a clean carrier bag (there will be some lurking in corners). So with BHF collecting 5 large items on the 19th and 5 more large items (including my bed and bed base) leaving on the 28th. I will have some space to start swapping things around (and a chance to clean bits I haven't been able to get at. With any luck I might be able to get the kitchen sink replaced (my argument is that there isn't enough room for a plumber to work even though Mr Builder is quite small). A lot of stuff might end up in boxes on the floor (a lot of my books are already in boxes) but I've mostly stuck to one size of box so they stack easily (and having work done in the kitchen generally means putting things away in boxes unless you're my mum who piles things on tables, chairs and any convenient surface).
I'm going to read for a while and then plough on with the accounts.
Grateful for helpful people, Ds3 ordering me food (they were going to the cinema so it had to be something quick), my bed and mum's old sofa cushions (with the pillows they give me infinite possibilities for comfortable positions).12 -
I've caught up with yesterday's and today's posts, and today I do feel a bit flat too, as many have said in their posts. I feel a bit tired, I just want to be on holiday and not think about problems and daily things, but it's going to be yet another while before I have some days off, so I think it's mostly the knowledge it's going to be a while kind of took away the enthusiasm from the daily things. My mum is slowly getting stronger, and I will be heading back home in less than a week. Tonight I am looking forward to a dinner at my aunt and uncle's house, I am going after work and it's going to be nice to catch up. Today was another NSD.Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:

Good afternoon!
I love that memory of Blackpool, Idee211. I spend many a year there, going around the pleasure beach, and arcades. I wonder if they still have those push penny machines?!?! I am long overdue a visit. Your son sounds like he's minted!!! Haha!
Thank you for the hugs everyone - gratefully received 💕
I do wonder sometimes whether we as Humans can pick up on the collective (I sound like a Borg now) emotional !!!!!! that's going on in our country/the World. It would explain an awful lot. Time to get out my white sage and swoosh it around my aura 😂 If nothing else it will leave my apartment smelling like sage & onion stuffing!!!
Hugs back to everyone that is in need of some love or a pick me up ⭐

Right - that's my affirmations done. To back up my intent, I am going to make a few small repayments off my debts right now to show I mean business haha. Bet you all think I'm bonkers! (I am a bit 🤪)
Today I am grateful for:
1) A visit from a friend and a yummy cake
2) For all the support I ever need to get me through the next day, week, month, year...
3) A roof over my head, shelter and warmth, hot and cold water, for never going hungry
Today was a spend day
Still on NSD number 4
Have a lovely day folks xx
