Quite a good day. Took a book back to the library and had my accounts photocopied (they no longer charge so the number of copies is limited but I told her they were in order of importance, so just do what she could) - so grateful that I don't need to copy them out by hand. Posted a letter in the box outside the pub on the other side of the road from the library, stopped to chat to two lovely dogs. The boy kept jumping on the girl when I tried to scratch her - he wanted all the cuddles.
Carried on to B00ts and I have bought the family pack of sun creams. I have vouchers somewhere and have been waiting to use them but the vouchers wouldn't have saved as much as the current offer price. I was going to go to the Cenotaph gardens to sit and eat lunch but decided it was too far and would be too sunny. Crossed to the Mall (air-conditioned) and stocked up on pens (again). I was feeling 'deprived' so I bought the 3 for £6 book offer (they will just be read and then taken to the cs). Sat on a bench to eat then headed home.
I'd told DS3 we would do some kitchen tidying when I got back so he gathered all the clean bedding and brought it upstairs for me. Then we took various bags of stuff to the bins and filled 2 with the worst of the detritus on the kitchen floor (I brought my hoe inside so he could use it on the cardboard stuck down - from the flooding episodes). He didn't want to bend down so I was directing him to bits and pieces at worktop level. We had a rest and did a bit more later.
I had a rest this afternoon - don't think I actually went to sleep but it did my back a lot of good.
My brother phoned - it was not great. He's still asking me to give him half the latest valuation (ignoring the others) and without deducting applicable costs. They haven't done the house insurance (5 weeks?), they haven't removed the shelves and drawers they asked for. He was incredulous that I wanted £1500 off him. Last time we met I owed him £300. Yes but dear brother your foolishness has locked us into a cycle of no rental income and lots of bills (they haven't noticed the bills as I'm dealing with them all). I told him they (he and my niece) will have lost us over £10,000 by the end of the year. I told him my offer and said the alternative is to go for sale by auction. He said he would get my niece to phone me as he didn't understand anything I said. I went to sit downstairs with DS3 as I was shaking uncontrollably. He thought I was having a heart attack because he's never felt anyone's heartbeat racing like mine was. Niece is now supposed to phone me tomorrow.
Grateful for DS3 being supportive, that my brother didn't ruin my day (despite his best efforts), for floor space appearing in the kitchen.

Good evening 🌒
Loving all of your positive quotes grandmanerd, so thank you! They really resonate. Thanks for the hugs Thrifty. Thanks DawnW - when I am feeling low - if I can remember to be grateful for those things it can often tip me out of my dark place and put me back on track. Sending love and positivity to people in need, also shifts me in that instant - because I guess you can't feel both negative and loving at the same time perhaps?
Yesterday was a spend day as met with my ex and his partner, before they head off back home. Went out for breakfast and had a laugh.
Today I managed to get myself to the gym at last but it was a very low-key session, and felt quite short of breath. I know it's just loss of fitness and I'll get it back in time. Giving myself a pat on the back though for going. Also resisted spending anything 👏🏻
Today = NSD number 5
Yesterday I was grateful for:
1) Time spend with friends
2) My computer and the games I play that help me unwind
3) For rediscovering reading (haven't been able to concentrate in ages)
Today I am grateful for:
1) Having a great gym to go to
2) Having a good day mentally ⛅
3) Friends old and new
Goodnight everyone xx

Thanks for all your well wishes. DS1 has been feeling a bit low today, but I've cheered him up this evening by doing some craft together. We've melted broken wax crayons & decorated plain white candles ready for sproutmas presents. He brought the newest cat addition downstairs too, to try & introduce her to the other 2 cats
Well done in DS's job @beanielou. If you're using the train to visit him, you can book assistance to help you on/off & if needed the staff will push you in a wheelchair to your next train (thus ensuring that you get on the right one! Unlike me in the past 😂)

Met a friend/ ex-colleague for a cuppa & cake this morning, but she treated me. Had a good catch up.
Mum's new toilet seat arrived, so I went to put it on for her. Spoke to her neighbour, who told me his nephew does fencing, so I phoned him & he is going to repair the broken fence. He said he'd replaced it last winter after a car had skidded on the ice too, so knew where the house was! Helped mum with a few other jobs too & listed some furniture on a local selling page.
Grateful for helpful people, seeing friends, mum finally having a new toilet seat (her toilet is a funny shape, so a lot of seats won't fit, as we've discovered!), craft time with DS1Use it up, wear it out

@Thrifty_Taylor - so glad your DS was okay. It will still shake you up though.
Still waiting for the cake - extending the birthday out for the weekend. Lunch out with sisters was great. They were also generous in their presents. After lunch, we went to a local charity store and I got a top, a pair of trousers, and 12 books. Will have a lot of reading material for the waiting times this month. Only had 4 NSD so far as a result.
Thank you for the quotes today. I needed those.9 -
This morning's post was good. My new mask has arrived (should have a better night's sleep tonight), I have no signs of bowel cancer, text message to say my pills will be delivered on Monday.
Calm and doing logic puzzles. Went out to buy a few things from shops that were too far yesterday (I have wraps, lots of tomatoes and peppers so was going to get more low fat cheese spread from the pound emporium and stock up on ibuprofen). Need to keep on top of things I use a lot (medicinal creams) as latest card is now banjaxed - it didn't even let me get as far as entering the new pin number.
When I got outside I saw the plant man was set up outside the community cafe. I now have 2 blackcurrant bushes, one grape vine, 6 cyclamen, 4 yellow things and a free petunia. Shopping can wait until this afternoon although the pound emporium never seems to get busy in it's new location. Want to try to move several large plants to make a 'hedge'. I'll add supports and put a row of blackcurrants on the inside. Will try to throw out some things from the kitchen and tool/ useful boxers. I also had a plan to throw some sauces etc which have been open for a while (I have unopened ones under the stairs). Anything I can do to make more space.
Grateful for lovely healthy plants, fun read books, my bed.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage11 -

Welcome @Crazycatlady2 :-)
Yesterday was very relaxed. We spent the whole day at the big house using the pool. No NSD as needed to go to supermarket for pet food and came out with various other things for the humans. Hol budget is almost maxed but I will get paid back for the pet food and sis will give me money for the shopping or pay for the next trip.
Feeling very lazy now, we are chilling inside with the air con on watching the olympics.
Grateful for air con, cuddly, sleepy animals and for spending quality time with sis.Student loan £5655

Welcome @Crazycatlady2, sorry for your loss.
It's been a busy day - headed to town after breakfast, dropped sewing off, then picked mum up & went shopping. After lunch I pottered in the garden. It was quite windy, but a trellis sheltered me & the sun occasionally came out.
Noted spends in my folder, then did some knitting & watched more of a series.
Grateful for a nice time with mum, a grateful customer, time in the garden & doing my knittingUse it up, wear it out
