At some point you will realize you have done too much for someone, that the only next possible step to do is to stop. Leave them alone. Walk away. It's not like you're giving up and it's not like you shouldn't try. It's just that you have to draw the line from determination to desperation. What is truly yours will eventually be yours, and what is not, no matter how hard you try, will never be
You're so hard on yourself. Take a moment, sit back and marvel at your life. At the mistakes that gave you wisdom, at the suffering that gave you strength. Despite everything, you still move forward, be proud of this. Continue to endure, continue to persevere, and remember that however dark it gets, the sun will rise again

Decluttering going well. Two more bags filled including extinct fairy lights, expired food (Beloved's - I was hoping to send it to the food bank but it's way past it's date, think there are 3 large bags of easy cook rice to go as well). More cardboard/ paper used to mop up various spills and I have asked DS3 to reach down my scales (cheap plastic, maybe 15+ years old) as they are on one of the high up shelves. I have plans to start on the things that will be taken away on the 16th (clearing , cleaning, putting them nearer the door) and resolved to radically step up my book winnowing (I want about half my current stock on e-books and will also sign up for borrowbox - any I can easily read any time I want don't need to be physically present).
Feeling upbeat and hopeful. I no longer care if my brother will sell me his half of grandma's house (the perfect bungalow is out there somewhere just waiting for me) but still need to push things along (needless to say my niece did not bother to phone me). I'm going to concentrate on improving my immediate surroundings (including moving DS3 upstairs along with his desk and chair, the chinchillas and all the 'game history of someone's life' currently taking up space on my cube shelves.
Lots of stuff in the kitchen that I do not need (the legs for all the incinerators currently being used as pots for apple trees went yesterday). The 'rubbish' from next door is currently in a corner of the backs and I think I'll tidy it and add stuff I don't need - any large broken bins, buckets and plant pots, lids from the incinerators etc and I estimate at least 5 bags for the cs.
Grateful for the sunshine (though it makes it harder for me to work out there and DS3 is scared of wasps, flies and numerous other things - ants probably, definitely spiders). Binned a dress I was saving for painting (too many holes). I will get there. I will make life better. I will have fun.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage13 -

Ooh it is hot out there 🔥 🔥 🥵 so the washing is on the line. I will miss it come winter and the dryer has to go on 😬. Although I will only have one in uniform - hooray!!
Deadheaded a few flowers and put some stuff in the shed,- I have been falling over it for weeks. My own fault entirely.
Another wash stuck in the machine and I made 'old shoe' apparently it is Italian and good for using up courgettes that have turned into marrows. It works, is tasty, and the courgette -swervers ate it and said it was delicious.
Also it is a tray bake so qualifies as a ' fling and bake' dish. Using up stuff from the fridge before we go.

Your quotes made me laugh grandmanerd 😅
Family day yesterday which whilst nice always seems to take it out of me. Didn't get out of bed until gone 09:30! I normally wake and am up before 07:00. Still not dressed and battery depleted. Not much I can do about it - I think it is just being around lots of people that drains me. Need to do grounding work. Ended up being a spend day so will try for a spend free day today.
Today = NSD number 6
Yesterday I was grateful for:

Evening turtles
Quiet weekend by myself while OH is away. Had a physio appointment yesterday morning and then treated myself to breakfast at a Greek place next door to the physio. Did some outstanding DIY jobs which had been hanging around for ages. Had an absolute disaster in my aquarium which I had to spend the evening trying to fix but have lost all my fish. I know they are "only" fish but it was obviously unintentional and I'd worked hard to build it up over the past year. Not to mention the waste of money.
Woke up really early this morning, popped up to see my share horse, no riding because of my back but it was nice to just sit in the field for a while. Popped to local aquatic shop for a few bits I needed and spent the afternoon fixing the mess I'd caused yesterday.
Nothing MSE to report this weekend, it's been very quiet but quiet is good!Save £2,400 tuition fees - £2,321.04 as of 08/24
Pay off credit card by December 2024 - £1,450/£2,0008 -
I took a large sack of cans and bottles and a small rubbish bag downstairs along with 2 carrier bags of books. The bags of books were delivered to 2 different cs. Red Cross no longer open on Sunday (may be because they are short on volunteers atm) so I walked another 4 blocks to Age Concern. Went in HB on the way back and they had the low fat cheese spread on offer so that saved a detour to the pound emporium. I stocked up on ibuprofen and antiseptic cream as well'
Put a mattress cover and a bath sheet into the WM. There would have been room for a couple of dresses but there were 5 dresses and a bathmat buried underneath everything else (it may have been there for some time) so will do those as a separate load.
My feet hurt on the way home (they were sore the other day and started to hurt again on my outward journey). The new insole liners have rubbed sore red patches on my instep. I stayed on the couch awhile but was starting to drift off so came back upstairs. Had a relaxing late afternoon and then went back down and did more work wearing my wellies. Threw away some out of date food so have more shelf space. Beloved had several spice jars with the contents in a solid lump on the bottom - she has more jars so I cleared those out.
Grateful for cs, HB (and chocolate), my bed, time to relax. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -

Oh no @lcc86, I’m so sorry to hear about your aquarium. And no, they aren’t ‘just fish’ - I had two goldfish when I was young - they both had their own traits, personalities if you will, as well as distinctive colourings etc. When the second one died I was distraught because he was my favourite … Plus, you have poured your heart and soul into that aquarium over a long time so the fish dying is like a little piece of you being lost.Do you know what went wrong and why?Hugs xAs at 15.04.25:
