The day so far - 3 sacks/ bag of bottles and cans. I had already put 2 out in the yard and gathered up all the loose ones. All the deliquescing fruit and veg went in the green bin (DS3 wasn't very careful about where he put the bags we brought back last week and some things got squashed, others were just lost behind successive deliveries and moving things to make space. Two bags of paper and then all the bags that had liquid fruit and veg in, minus the wet bottom sections. Two small rubbish bags binned and one large one ready to go. Two library books returned including the one that's been hiding under the bed since last year.
Three bags taken to the furthest cs - 1 books, 2 random bits. Very tough going even with many rest breaks. 3 more cs quite close to that one, including one that takes furniture (they downsized from much bigger premises close to me). I might try them to see if they want the drop leaf table and exercise bike (and can collect). I had intended going across to Tessimo's after the cs and then having a taxi home but instead I worked my way back home with a quick look round HB who had the things I most needed (including small padded envelopes so I can send some of my grandma's photos to my younger niece).
I had a phone call with DS2 - DS3's key wasn't in the bag he took home. For a while it looked as though he and my grand-daughter might come to visit and take me out but between the baby's nap and having to get back to make food for his night shift working partner, there wasn't time. However he has had a bit of a clear out and will come to collect his nanna's (my ex-m-i-l) coffee table so that's another thing that will be going.
Back on the couch now as my ankles are swollen and the top of my foot is sore (looks like I might have an insect bite and the shoe has been rubbing it). If I can do more work later it will probably be in wellies.
Grateful for getting as far as the cs (it was a challenge), more space appearing and some ideas for who could take various donations.6 -
Thanks for August @grandmanerd / mothernerd (I am getting confused lol)Tired today after 2 days at work. That is old age for youI have however made roasted tomato, chilli and garlic sauce from some of my tomato mountain. Now frozen. Also made lemon curd for the fridge. We went to a local food festival after lunch (very local, just a short walk). Ignored all the street food trucks etc, but bought artisan cheese and fancy sausage rolls to bring home. Also ordered some winter / waterproof walking trainers as my old ones died, so not a NSD. I have lost track of those again. Must try harder next month!6

Thank you for August, grandmanerd. I've been fairly hit and miss all month, but we have cleared a lot of stuff (will it ever end...?!), and are settling nicely into the new kitchenToday I am grateful for buying supermarket food for lunch with a friend and eating at her house instead of going out somewhere, for Pip having a study buddy over, for my new kitchen.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Thank you for this month @grandmanerd. Finished the month on 16 NSDs.
Hung a load of jeans on the line before breakfast. Write my shopping list & headed to town. Picked mum up, dropped off & collected sewing, then went food shopping. Met DS3 & his GF, so he gave me his work boots to being home & a bag to drop off at his friends. Him & GF were going on the boat to introduce his GF to his grandad. He's had great news this week, he's able to start his apprenticeship now, rather than having to wait 6 weeks until he's 16, so he's really chuffed!
Put the shopping away, then spent 3 hours painting the garage & bits of the greenhouses. Used up the tin of paint we had, so might be able to find something that's better & won't get washed off quickly. Spent the evening prepping my jumper ready for steeking & turning it into a cardigan.
Grateful for my son getting the go ahead for his apprenticeship, a sunny day & ticking another job off the to-do listUse it up, wear it out

Thank you @laura_lau and @abundant1972, I will try to enjoy the search, as I know I will in hindsight, if that makes sense. And I realise how fortunate I am to have the opportunity, I know it will make me feel more secure.
