Ah! I make non- geographically specific Eccles/Chorley cakes pastry-thing too with my excess pastry. Or if there is not enough I make letters to write something rude to go on top of the pie. But then I am very childish and have 20 years of hearing 'what's in the pie Mum?' as if they cared! 🤣🤣 If it's made of pie, they eat it.
Did a small shop, sub £20 to get me through the weekend.

It's called singing lily round here. Many bags and boxes have gone into recycling. DS3 took the headboard out of my room, downstairs and outside. However he refuses to take the 'wardrobe' (it's the unit that goes between the 2 wardrobes, with drawers at the bottom and a mirror at the top). Two were supposed to go out for collection last time but he trapped his hand between the wardrobe and the door at the bottom of the stairs doing the first one. I picked the drawer unit because we can take the drawers out and there aren't any wardrobe drawers so it should be lighter and easier to manhandle.
I went downstairs earlier but got sent back to bed (I did my old trick of falling asleep sitting down and woke when my head dropped onto my shoulder). Hoping for more progress tomorrow (if the wardrobe isn't going then I want the equivalent in bin bags and recycling to go out). Book and clothes donations are steadily growing (and a pile for cleaning the floor).
Grateful for getting things out of the house, only minor injuries, good books to read.10 -
Awake early again. Gave my neighbour a lift into town, picked mum up & did my big monthly shop with the L1DL discount. Dropped sewing off, picked more up & went zip shopping.
Put all the shopping away when I got home, then went out to do some tidying in the garden. DH has been busy, but left piles everywhere that needed tidying away. Went inside once it got too cold & read my book. Watched more of a series & did some knitting.
Grateful for helpful haberdashery staff (not grateful for nuisance customers!), time in the garden, good musicUse it up, wear it out

Today I am grateful for sourcing a desk and add-on top section for Pip from gumt, for dh swapping the lightbulbs around in the kitchen so that the bright ones are all on one side now, for more clearing of pip's bedroom, for getting 2 old kitchen cupboards dismantled and outside, for re-reading a series of books, for getting fuel at 7p per litre cheaper than the local petrol stations.

@abundant1972 I like the sound of trying to get a month ahead, something to bear in mind I think.
Yesterday was a spend day, had my physio first thing. He tried to be optimistic and said that things can take time to improve, I think because it's been so long of dealing with this that I'm not sharing his optimism! But I'll keep doing my exercises and doing my best.
Did a couple of loads of washing and cooked lunches for me and OH for the week ahead. Did a few admin tasks ready for uni when that starts in September.
Went out to dinner with some gym friends last night, was nice to do something a little different. Fell asleep on the sofa when I got home.
Plans for today are more washing, getting the slow cooker on the go, a quick visit to share pony and then off to the gym. OH and I plan to go out for a roast later as a bit of a treat (says me who went out for dinner last night as well!). We don't go out for dinner together much so should be nice.9 -
I’ve spent most of the weekend indoors, except for quickly dashing outside to hang up the washing when the sun appeared, and then running back out to rescue it from the rain. That happened 2 or 3 times! 🤣I managed to tackle some important life admin tasks, like organising bank statements and sorting through important documents, including our mortgage agreement. I was trying to find out what happens when the mortgage is finally paid off—do we need to contact the bank before we make the final payment? We’re just 8 months away from being mortgage-free, as long as we stay on track! Now that the end is in sight, I feel more impatient than ever. What’s all that about?! I’ve plodded along for 9 years quite happily and now it feels like I’m waiting on the modem to connect to the internet back in the 90s!Grateful today for time to potter around the house, to think and plan (though I always feel like I need more time for that—my mind just wants to solve and organise all the things!), and to catch up on some much-needed sleep after a couple of restless nights.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸9

I feel like I've not done one in yonks, so I'm happy to set one up...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

A slow day for me. Two bags of paper went out and I think 4 broken down boxes. 1 Large bin bag and the old kettle - several random items have gone out over the past few days, I can't see why I've been holding onto them (boots with paint on that I was going to wear so that I didn't spoil a good pair of shoes but it's now so long since I've managed to paint anything. Lots more books will go . I'm ready to let them go and I need to think about craft materials - am I really going to use them?
The clothes purge is going well. So many things I've been holding onto because I was afraid of not being bale to replace them. The blue and green floor length t-shirt dresses will be my new nighties for winter, the blue one straight away (10p size hole on my buttock), the green when the small holes get bigger. The rag pile is growing, I actually dislike a lot of my clothes. They were 'useful' in some way or the best I could find when looking but they need to leave now.
Slightly worried about the bed and other things that need to go out for collection on Wednesday. Probably because I'm trying to do things properly and in order (and don't have the strength or energy to do much). Will do what I can and then it will have to be shoving things out of the way to make a clear path through with the large items.
Grateful for easy food (cheese spread on seeded bread), peace and quiet, entertaining books and a series.10 -

The degree to which a person can go is directly proportional to the amount of truth they can accept about themselves without running away
@itsbookgains
The Ten Decluttering Questions
1) Do I love this?
2) Is it beautiful or useful?
3) Did I bring this item into my life?
4) Does it increase the quality of my life?
5) Is it hard to replace if I need it again?
6) Do I need to save it for tax or legal reasons?
7) If I were free from guilt would I still keep it?
8) Have I used it in the past year?
9) Does it help me achieve my life goals?
10) Will I have more space to do the things I want without it?

Some familiar but some interesting new ones.
One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was from a horse trainer. He told me to go slow to go fast. We live as though there are not enough hours in the day, but if we do each thing calmly and carefully we will get it done quicker and with much less stress.

Stepping out of Apathy
Apathy is a feeling of 'What's the point?'. It's a numbness. It's protection mechanism from overstimulation and a side effect of having your hopes crushed. It's a feeling of joylessness and feeling stuck. Stepping out of it can be really difficult and may require help. What you can do is detach yourself from that which angers you and has no actual outcome. You can do the things that normally bring you joy even if they don't seem to at first. You can rest and reset.
You can reclaim your peace.

Morning turtles,
Thanks for offering to do Sept @apple_muncher! I don't mind doing October.
I am on the train back to Madrid finally. It feels like I've been away forever (it's been a month and a half) and I'm looking forward to getting back. I was very sad to leave the animals I've been looking after though, especially the needy miniature dachshund who I realised I had also got quite attached to!
I had a nice week with my sister but I feel a little drained from all the visitors. I also can't wait to knuckle down and do a super frugal turbo-save September (also like the idea of your getting a month ahead @abundant1972, I may try to do that as well.
I am grateful for the journey going well so far, for free wifi on the train, for my little animal friends who I've left behind and one day having my own.
Edit: Just got an email from a no-win-no-fee company that I used to claim for a disrupted flight saying my claim has been successful! they take a bit of a hefty fee but I still get EUR 160 back, which I'm happy with.Student loan £5655
