Evening turtlesHad to buy paint after all - I had found some in the garage that I thought would do for touching up the new shower room, but it had gone off - rock hard underneath and brown watery stuff on top. The underneath bit was too hard to try to stir it. Anyway, I bought some, and did the painting needed. All finished nowWe had considered getting the main bathroom done next, but have now decided against. It does need some work, due to damage to the plasterwork at the top of one wall, from the leaks from the 'old' shower room above, and the lights need sorting out too. It also desperately needs storage. So we are going to buy some storage and have a go at the wall ourselves. If need be we can get a plasterer (and we will definitely need an electrician), but all of this will mean spending a few hundred pounds as opposed to several thousand. It will also avoid the waste involved in discarding a perfectly good bathroom suite, to say nothing of the mess and disruption.Apart from bathroom stuff, I got 2 loads of washing dry on the line outside, walked the dog, watered the beans and strawberries (and refilled the bird bath) and that is about it. The painting did take me a while though!Intrigued by the AI chat.Grateful for making a sensible decision about home improvements and good drying weather10

Had a job nodding off last night, but made myself wake up at the normal time anyway. After breakfast did a 5 mile walk, then once home read a bit of my book & did some seeing jobs.
I'd just finished sewing when DS3 & GF appeared, so after a quick dinner, we headed to town, picked mum up & drove a lot further to drop DS & GF back at her house. Picked some sewing up en route. Made a detour to mum's favourite place, as we were nearby anyway. Had a walk along the front, admiring all the flowers in the gardens, then dropped her home before returning home myself.
Brought the washing in, changed the bedding & did some Duolingo. After tea, I made 4 birthday cards, then had a long soak & pampered in the bath (& read more of my book).
Managed most, if not all goals for the 75 Day Soft challenge 😊
Grateful for getting the washing in just before it started raining, a nice walk, a rare drive to the south of our islandsUse it up, wear it out

@idee2111 I have used AI quite a few times, especially for work, mainly to help with process improvement and to get some help with building automations for repetitive task, it’s been a bit hit and miss for that, but it still helped. I have also asked it for help
in writing my yearly goals at work (I love writing but I hate writing goals and pdr) and it worked quite well for that, however my manager commented that they didn’t need to be written so formally… oops!Yesterday it was a busy day, we had a return viewing at my mum’s house (the man who came on Friday morning wanted to show it to his wife to get her opinion), but instead of coming in the morning they re-booked it for the afternoon, which kind of disrupted our plans for the day, which included reorganising my mum’s wardrobe, which in the end we couldn’t do, as we didn’t want the people to come for the viewing with a mess in the bedroom. In the afternoon we started cooking for today’s little family celebration, and we did most of the cooking, then cleaned the kitchen and the bathroom. Did a small
shop in the afternoon, but my mum paid for it as it’s for her house, so yesterday was still NSD. Before the evening I washed the bedsheets and hang them to dry, and I soaked and treated a white jumper of my brother’s, which had a red wine stain he tried to wash away. I checked on it this morning and it looks like the stain has gone, so I’m quite pleased.
in the evening we ate quite a bit of watermelon, which is one of my favourite things, so I was very happy.Today was a really good day, put the finishing touches to food for today’s lunch and then some relatives arrived for the little celebration (which I called mid-Summer feast) and it was really lovely. I recommended two books to my uncle and was able to lend them to him as I just finished reading them, and he left very happy. In the late afternoon I showed my cousin some of the line dances I learned recently, and she loved it, so we had quite a bit of fun. We had an unexpected visit from a friend with whole we always spend a week on holiday in August, but we couldn’t go this year because of my mum’s health, and she came to bring us some cake from the Alps (Strudel) and some presents. It was a lovely surprise.I found a nice pattern of a knitted tee and sent it to my mum, she can use some wool I brought her last week and I ordered some needles for her, as she didn’t have the correct sizes, so I lost my NSD today. Had more watermelon for dinner, happy me again! 😁
Taking myself off to bed now, which is slightly earlier than my usual, but I’m actually knackered. Lots of work awaiting me tomorrow too, it also suits me well. Good night turtles!Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:

Good morning,
sorry late first check in for the month. This will be the last week of only working three days as the kids go back to school on Tue next week and then I will get better on checking in.
Had a spendy weekend with going to museums etc and doing the school clothes shop. Came in on budget though. Also my childcare voucher money that was left in the inactive account will now be paid with my next paycheck, yay.
Will catch up on posts at lunchDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/258 -
Today I am grateful for a good sleep, for a quiet day, for an afternoon walk in the sun, for pizza for tea, for hm ginger biscuits.

Yesterday was slightly wasted day. I felt vaguely unwell (possibly because I did not make wise food choices the day before). Lots went out to the bins, some weeding was done and a few other bits and pieces. I couldn't show you the changes but I know they're there.
This morning I've listed 5 items of furniture to be collected by British Heart Foundation in 2 weeks time. I also listed 5 things for a Council Bulky Waste collection but there were no dates available. I've left the page open so hopefully I don't have to redo the whole thing tomorrow when I check for any new dates available. This includes me bed and the base so after that I could start the process of moving their things upstairs and mine down (will buy a single mattress but could sleep on the couch for a day or two.
My back is hurting now (probably something I did yesterday but it made better use of available space). The first 2 attempts failed and the third involved shoving, putting knees in to hold it half way into it's new position and then a long sit down.
Grateful for making progress, trying not to think about how much time and money my brother and niece have wasted (it will go in the letter), DS3 going back to mainly working in the night. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage11 -
Morning all 🌑
I was intrigued by you recording in Notes App 📝 ideee211 and I just tried. My life has been revolutionised ha ha!
Is it A1 or it AI (as in Artificial Intelligence) you are talking about? Is it an application on a PC?
Had a nice day yesterday - and had lunch with an ex from over 25 years ago. We see each other once a year maybe. I had a nice time anyway and was good to get me out. As a result however - it was a spend day.
Looking at my budget I have some money in my gift fund so can use that. I am trying to put aside money each month into various online pots so I am prepared for most things! I am just in the process of re-organising my bank accounts still - I know I will feel very settled when everything drops into place.
Today I am grateful for:
1) A lazy morning
2) My book collection and the creative minds that wrote them all
3) Content creators making me laugh

I need to collect my brother's ashes this week, and perhaps as a result of that, I was a bit tearful last night. Funny how it gets you, isn't it? OH doesn't understand at all. I try to keep busy and positive. Today I made 2 types of jam (loganberry and blackcurrant), prepped and froze a batch of beans and made a big pot of apple pie filling from the windfall apples. Not a NSD as I sent GS2 some money for his birthday. I have lost track of NSDs already this month, as it is such a spendy time. I am recording all spends again now though. I got the bill for the new shower room this morning.I have more jam to make tomorrow. I am trying to get all the jam fruit out of the freezer as I have / will have lots of other things to go in.Grateful for the temperature probe thing, that takes away all the guesswork over whether jam will or will not set!13
