hugs to @DawnW that must be so hard.
I'm checking in late too. First day back at work today (remotely from the place where I'm housesitting). Got up late and did a HIIT workout before starting work, then dropped my friend in Seville at lunchtime. Would have been an NSD but I filled the car up with petrol. The house feels very quiet without my friend but I'm glad to have the company of the animals, and my sister is coming to visit on Wednesday, so lots to look forward to. Will have a look at my goals for this month and see if I'm still within budget.Student loan £5655

I went to the town centre and bought a couple of things to tide me over - I really need to go to the SM but my ankle was aching after that small effort. Called in the book cycle place to look for 2 specific books. They didn't have them and neither did the library though I selected 4 others. Rested in the library, sat outside on the Pete Shelley bench, got across the car park with scooting on my walker. Sat on the big concrete block and then finally made it to the house.
DS3 brought one of my bags upstairs, I brought the other (very tough climb up the stairs). I've been resting on the bed ever since, I think tomorrow will be a very low activity day. I need to give this ankle some love and affection.
Grateful for sitting in the sunshine with a drink and a book, lots of benches and places to sit, that the bins to be collected this week have already been filled to the brim so if I'm not mobile DS3 will just need to make sure they go out.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage11 -
Non working day today but still taking it easy to help recover from my injections. Managed a couple of goes around the block. Did some batch cooking in the slow cooker and a few bits of life admin but not much else.
Picked up two prescriptions so I did spend but as they're health spends I'm still keeping my NSD.8 -
Good evening turtles,@abundant1972, I’m glad it’s been a revelation for you. It has for me too. I find it quicker and easier to talk to my phone and have it do the hard work of typing instead of me trying to type using these silly tiny digits on my phone! However, because I have a Glasgow accent, some words go just a wee bit wrong, sometimes a big bit wrong, but I just edit them at the end. I then copy and paste the words into AI (artificial intelligence) for a wee proof-read and tidy-up. You must be specific with what you want it to do such as ‘do not change my wording’ otherwise it can sound quite formal. My preferred AI platform is ChatGPT. It’s free, and you can download it as an app.I spent the first half of my day at work being very distracted and distressed by all the news of violence, racist attacks, and destruction going on in parts of the UK. It relates to my work, so it’s very hard to avoid. It is absolutely horrendous. I could go on, but it’s not what this lovely NST group is about.Today has been NSD1.I was working from home today, and there was nowt much exciting happening. I did eventually get some work done whilst periodically looking out my window to see beautiful Greek (dreich) weather. Ha, there’s one of those Scottish words that dictation cannot handle. If only we had some beautiful Greek weather!!Grateful today for many cups of comforting tea, for the radio and relaxing music giving my mind rest from work, for OH making dinner and being a listening ear (the man deserves a medal), and for Mum taking DS out for the day.

Slow day today, steadily getting some work done. I'm going to finish work in one hour and was hoping to get a half hour of childhood bedroom decluttering in before preparing dinner, and after dinner I hope to knit an hour or so to relax.
I've done two loads of laundry today, so I have managed to get the whole pile of my mum's clothes and household items nice and clean.
I'm looking forward to have the last piece of the watermelon this evening, however I'm kind of sad it's finished. Hopefully I'll be able to convince my mum to get another one next time we go to the supermarket!
Today was NSD number 5 - it is easy to not spend when you are in someone else's house, so I'm enjoying this time as much as I can!

Good evening 🌒
Hugs DawnW. Sending you love and support x
Thanks Idee211 - I'll look into the chat platform!
Today was another day feeling flat. I didn't leave the apartment and just pottered all day not doing a lot. Thinking if it persists I might have to tweak my medication. I wanted to try with exercise, daylight, mindfulness - but if I can't find the motivation to even go outside then I may need a dose boost to get me going. Sigh! Emotional numbness here I come.
Today I am grateful for:
1) A friend's kindness
2) My budgeting app
3) Quiet time
Today = NSD number 4
Current moon phase 🌒 is waxing crescent - this is about staying focussed on your goal, even if you can't see any progress. Trust and stay positive and believe they are manifesting. Dig deep and find courage. This is so apt for me now. I need to trust that things are happening 'behind the scenes' and that everything will fall into place in its right time. Finding faith is the hard part when I feel a bit down. I'll work on some positive affirmations and visualisations tomorrow.

I'm another who feels a bit flat. Mostly confined to bed as parts of me are hurting. I went out as far as the post box to send the poo sample (it's for bowel cancer testing in case anyone doesn't know what I've been talking about) and picked up some drinks on the way back. I'd put my shopping on the walker whilst collecting it and one of the cans (expensive but delicious ready chilled from the fridge) rolled off. Gorgeous young assistant rushed to help me but I'd already stooped to pick it up. Bad mistake. He took all my shopping off me and then suggested biscuits as well (he remembered I'd bought dark choc digestives last time and they were on the bottom shelf. I was trying to resist but the pain overruled me.
Limped back home (you can nearly see my front door from the shop) with many stops. Sat near a telegraph pole and sat drinking one of the cold cans in the sunshine before crossing to my door. Shouted for DS3 and he took my bag up and then came back to bring the walker in. I limped, winced and yelped my way back upstairs.
On the bed with the Estate accounts for most of the day (piecing together all the scribbled notes from when I trawled through my diaries (including on here). I'm adding in things like stamps and pens where I've often used my own - I bought 3 different types of bin bag in February as I'd nearly gone through a roll of my own sorting out the tenant's mess (+ rubble sacks used for the full and empty jars he'd just piled in bags and left behind the back door as well as garden clippings).
I've written down things my brother should pay for (seller pays the solicitor's fees, he will have a small CGT liability) and that he will not be getting a share of any increase in value once his half of the house is turned over to me and I've spent money on renovations (approximately £5 k for starters). This is work I told them needed doing, which they didn't want to do or contribute financially towards. I've also jotted details of some things they were supposed to do which I suspect they've just left (after making a fuss because I hadn't done one of them). I have no idea if he will accept my offer (I'm pitching it low) or if I even want the house any more but I want all my ducks in a row and then to drag him to a solicitor (so any agreement can be formally written up).
If they don't like the figure I've given (there is a bit of room for negotiation) then I want to go to online auction at once because if I need to start looking for another property, I need cash now, not sometime next year - they will have cost us over £10 k by the end of the year and committed us to a lengthier and more costly process.
I've said the estate should pay for Land Registry costs and associated admin as we are jointly liable as executors. I may ask the solicitor to tackle the last few bits of probate admin, as I'm absolutely exhausted.
Grateful for time on the bed (lots of reading and little games when the accounts got too much), DS3 helping without any fuss (he even checked which bins needed to go out), gorgeous soup from the community cafe (I couldn't face any more cheese spread on wraps which has been my default meal for the past 3 days). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage12 -
The optician phoned me so my check up appointment is booked in for a week on Friday. I still need to get a repeat prescription, order a new mask (left it in the water too long and the seal is breaking) and try for newly released dates for bulk waste collection. I've just had my shower, so I'm going to take my pills and try for another couple of hours sleep. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage11
