I am also STS. I guess it's not entirely surprising as I was away over BH.4

Hi all, I've had a dire few weeks diet-wise, so I've put on around 4 lbs 🙄 I now need to lose 12lbs to get to my preferred weight. So I think @Brambling I'm 9/12 now. Sorry in advance for a long, probably self-absorbed post, but I'm trying to sort my thoughts and plans out.
I have been busy walking/hiking and burning calories while on leave. Problem is I'm eating and drinking them back, as it's summertime and I'm seeing friends and family! Plus it's been awful weather for lunchtime walks when I've been working. I've struggled sleeping properly, averaging 5 hours a night which doesn't help with enthusiasm for exercising. Meh.
I've got a wedding and a sun holiday in a month. So I need to sort myself out. I have got some vitamin sprays to hopefully help with energy levels. Grr being middle aged and on the menopausal cusp! But this is why I need to lose the lard and gain strength.
No booze - this is hard for me! I love a wine in the eve.
Breakfast: Protein shakes or greek yogurt and nuts.
Lunch: Homemade soups or a high protein salad or houmous, oatcakes and veg crudites
Main meal: Mostly home cooked, with plenty of veg.
Exercise: Back to regular runs (starting today!) and meeting my daily step count. Short strength and HIIT workouts to build muscle. Yoga for mental health and relaxation.
Hope everyone is ok and supportive vibes if you are struggling. It's never easy!4 -
Stayed the same this week. Tbh if I could sleep I'd have lost, Thu night my insomnia kicked in quite badly so I came down and ate a little, nothing major.
Before eating I weighed in, sts. Normally I do a walk on the morning before my 'official' weigh in so if I'd slept I'd probably have lost a pound or so.
We keep going!5 -
Lunch - Greek salad with halloumi
Had the worst bad stomach ever during the afternoon (I don't think it was connected to the salad)
Tea - 3 very plain hot dogs
Also made 22 jars of jam so lots of testing it.5 -
hurrah! lost 1 and a half Ibs this week!
I think it helped that I managed not to go crazy on my nightshifts for once (didnt even eat the expensive chocolate bar I bought either!).
Just another 2Ibs to go and Im done!7 -
Well call me STS.
But meanwhile there's been a crucial change in the household. The OH has realised he's a tad overweight. (aka obese) and so needs to do something about it.
No more huge bowls of greek yoghurt in the morning with an excessive amount of honey on it. No more fry ups 5 times a week (after the yoghurt....) He's having porridge for breakfast most mornings with fruit. He's not started the "we must only eat ready meals" line that he's taken in the past and is looking to have proper meals made. (should be easy as he's a great cook). Instead of having a snack before dinner (crisps, toast with jam, biscuits) he's been munching on the mini tomatoes from the garden. (granted they are very sweet)
Anyways - I'm hoping this will last and he makes some progress. He's also said he's going to go through his clothing and throw out anything that doesn't fit (aka too small) which seems a bit backwards but he likes to shop so I can imagine that new trousers, shirts will be his reward to himself. Let's hope so anyways.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.
