EDIT2: Tried again, this time success "Thank you for applying for a Select account. We’ve got your application and it may take up to 2 working days for us to be in touch."

Applied and successful. Account is not shown on App yet. COP works but test FP from Lloyds rejected. Weird.

I've opened one too - it usually takes a day before for the account to activate before you can make first deposit.

@soulsaver - I had a long online chat with the Applications manager at Ulster and they confirmed that it is a requirement to have a current account with Ulster in order to open this savings account - as it was originally for their Loyalty Saver too.

Our processing team has confirmed that it is mandatory to have a current account in order to apply for the Limited Edition Saver Account.

they said they will be updating the website to reflect this - I mentioned it being listed on Moneyfacts and that they may be getting a lot of enquiries about this account!

I had a current account with them at one time. They tend to be in the Monmouth BS league - a bit slow but get there in the end.

Unlike their Loyalty Saver, this limited edition saver pays monthly interest.
