Our processing team has confirmed that it is mandatory to have a current account in order to apply for the Limited Edition Saver Account.

they said they will be updating the website to reflect this - I mentioned it being listed on Moneyfacts and that they may be getting a lot of enquiries about this account!

As soon as you click that you don't already have an Ulster current account it tells you that you can't proceed without one, even though the other information says you don't even need to be an existing customer.

I wasn't able to complete the current account application on the website, it just didn't go anywhere after the first couple of clicks. I was able apply on the app but have not yet received a confirmation email.

Yes, it is not possible to fill out the online form for the SA without a CA

Annoying how they never offer these through Natwest, good offer though! 

I've tried to sign up without a current account and it's being processed, says to check back within 2 business days.

I'd argue that opening the current account before opening the savings account makes you an existing customer so you do have to be an existing customer before opening the savings account.

As there was no date specified for being an existing customer ( as there sometimes are for exclusive savings products) I would maintain.. you don't need to be an existing customer.
