sadly Issue 9 has already dropped to 4.35% (on 24th September) - I spent days shifting the balance from Issue 9 to Issue 10 this week only to get that email this morning ROFL.

I got an email about Issue 9 from them on 8th September.
This email is to let you know that your savings interest rate(s) will be decreasing.

The table below shows the savings account(s) you hold with us where the interest rate(s) will be decreasing, the details of the new interest rate(s) and when they take effect. If you hold more than one of the same type and issue of an account, the new interest rate will apply to all of those accounts.

The current interest rates for Family BS withdrawn savings accounts can be found here
which confirms that the issue 9 dropped to 4.35% AER from 24th September 2025.
Note that document doesn't show reductions that are scheduled to take place in the future such as the issue 10 and 11 reductions from 12th October

  • Does anyone know how long deposits take to show in Skipton accounts
i transferred a large chunk of money from HSBC to Skipton yesterday morning and it’s still not showing
is that to be expected as today is Saturday and it’ll appear Monday, or should I be a bit concerned ?
  • Regarding my last question - it’s not a new account, and I have paid in to it before without problem s

I seem to recall a few people had this with their regular saver at the turn of last month and the payment showed on the Monday, it was hit and miss though with regards to who was affected.

What time of the morning did you try paying in?
  • It was about 9am
I’ve found the money , it was re-credited to my hsbc account
I can’t call to find out why as I’m away from home and I don’t know my telephone banking details

I had exactly this problem a couple of years ago with Skipton. The issue was the account had a lower than I expected max balance. Their Bonus saver for example has a 50K limit so if your transfer was going to exceed this, they return the funds to the source account.
