    Family BS:

Savings: Interest rates for Windfall Bond and Tracker Savings Bond will decrease by 0.25% from 1 June 2025. We will be writing to all customers individually to confirm the new rates.

i'm assuming the 4.6% account that was available a month or two back will be reducing?

I messaged West Brom to clarify.  Herewith their response:

Thank you for your email. From Thursday 8th May 2025 the rate on our Four Access Saver (Issues 1 and 2) increased from 4.40% to 4.65%. Please contact us via the methods below if you require further support.
I like their response to the Bank England interest rate cut, long may it continue!

Shame I used up one of the 4 accesses removing funds when the rate dropped in March.
Ditto but I think I now know where GB Bank funds will be headed next Tuesday when they drop from 4.7% to 4.35%. Benefits of leaving £1 in West Brom.

Currently in the process of moving funds from my GB Bank Easy Access to a new West Brom account.
A bit annoying that you have to phone West Brom Customer Services to register for online banking.

GB Bank are also offering a 6 month fixed rate bond paying 4.5%, so I think I will transfer some of the funds there.
The account opening process is easy and the transfer can be done without the need to go through an external linked current account.

Aldermore Easy Access Account (Issues 1 - 18) & Easy Access Account RS (Issues 1 - 3) dropping from 3.85% to 3.55% AER on 28th May.
    * the EAA RS is the Easy Access account that the Aldermore Regular Saver matures into after a year.

or from 4.30% to 4.01% if you prefer AER (and assuming you have the bonus rate).

With EA rates dropping, if you have a Santander current account, their monthly regular saver is easy to open and manage, pays 5% fixed and you can withdraw with no loss of interest. Only downside is you can only put in £200 a month.
