    I've opened a Cahoot... The terms and conditions say you can close the account by phoning in or writing. But was wondering if secure message might work also?

    "Account closure" is an option in Cahoot's secure message menu, but, oddly they won't close an account that way! 🙄🤷‍♂️

    Thanks. Managed to close it by phone now. But they tell me you can close by secure message now apparently (that's a recent change). Just need to send secure message giving details of which account to close (account number and sort code) and move to (account number and sort code) and your address, and where to pay the trailing interest.
    Good to know! It must be very recent because just last month I and others here were told no when asking to close an ac by secure message.

    West Brom, Online Four Access Saver Issue 1.  When I logged on this afternoon, this account was showing a rate of 4.65% (which is the current rate for issue 2), which was a surprise to me as my spreadsheet and the West Brom's leaflet for rates no longer available is showing it at 4.40% from March 2025.  Is this showing for anyone else who may have one of these?
    Thanks for the heads up. My Iss 1 also shows 4.65%  :)

    My Issue 2 West Brom 4 Access saver is also showing 4.65% Yearly / 4.55% Monthly although they said it would reduce to 4.40% / 4.31% on the 14th March

    I messaged West Brom to clarify.  Herewith their response:

    Thank you for your email. From Thursday 8th May 2025 the rate on our Four Access Saver (Issues 1 and 2) increased from 4.40% to 4.65%. Please contact us via the methods below if you require further support.
    I like their response to the Bank England interest rate cut, long may it continue!

    Shame I used up one of the 4 accesses removing funds when the rate dropped in March.

    @soulsaver - from 23rd May....
    • Atom Instant Saver Reward - if no withdrawals, unchanged at 4.75%; if you make a withdrawal, the rate drops from 3.00% currently to 2.50%.
    • Atom Instant Saver dropping from 3.25% to 2.90%.
    I opened this account, but not funded yet.  It's not clear to me what's the optimal day for withdrawals - is it the 1st of the month or the day when the account was opened?  Does anyone know an answer?

    Atom isn't the 1st of the month.

    From the T&C:

    Interest is typically paid on the day of the month you opened your account.

    ‘Month’, is the period of one month from the day of the month in which your account was opened.
