their latest EA Issue 22 is 2.00% - so keep your foot there for now!Bobblehat said:May not interest too many forumites but Oaknorth just emailed with a rate drop to EA Issue 16 (NLA) 3.25% down to 3.00% AER on 23rd May. There are many issues of the EA currently sitting at 3.25%, so no doubt other issues could be dropping too. I'll leave my lonely £1 in there to keep my foot in the door!
I had an email that my OakNorth Limited Edition Easy Access (Issue 5) is reducing from 4.32% to 4.05% on 23rd May - they could have least made it 4.07% and not rounded down! Issue 9 was launched yesterday at 4.05% too.

I got it too. I've recorded it in my spreadsheet, but this change doesn't make any difference to me because I won't be keeping a penny in this account during the "withdrawal rate" intervals. I remember dealing with HSBC Online Bonus Saver - the same thing, withdraw on the day the interest is credited and don't come back for a month.sammy_zammy said:Just got an email from Atom Bank for the Instant Saver Reward:
Following the Bank of England’s decision to reduce its base rate, we’re pleased to confirm that your Reward rate will stay at 4.75% AER* / 4.65% gross (variable).
However, we’ve decided to lower the Withdrawal rate from 23rd May.
Current Withdrawal rate
3.00% AER* / 2.96% gross (variable)
New Withdrawal rate
2.50% AER* / 2.47% gross (variable)
That’s awfully nice of them!0 -
I secure messaged them a couple of days ago to close my account, which has a zero balance, and pay interest into my new account with them. They replied saying I should make the balance zero then ask again, stating which account I wanted interest paying into. Also asking for confirmation of my full address. Annoying I had to write it all out again when all they needed was confirmation of my address. They didn’t say they couldn’t do it though.rallycurve said:
I tried to close my Cahoot account via secure message and received this reply from them on 16/04/2025:moi said:
Good to know! It must be very recent because just last month I and others here were told no when asking to close an ac by secure message.SnowMan said:moi said:I've opened a Cahoot... The terms and conditions say you can close the account by phoning in or writing. But was wondering if secure message might work also?
"Account closure" is an option in Cahoot's secure message menu, but, oddly they won't close an account that way! 🙄🤷♂️
Thanks. Managed to close it by phone now. But they tell me you can close by secure message now apparently (that's a recent change). Just need to send secure message giving details of which account to close (account number and sort code) and move to (account number and sort code) and your address, and where to pay the trailing interest. We can’t close accounts via secure messaging. Please contact us on the number below and one of our team members can action the closure of your account.
If anyone tries now and succeeds please let us know!3 -
The 4 access renews on May 1st so if your withdrawals were in March/April you have another four left!mon3ysav3r said:
I like their response to the Bank England interest rate cut, long may it continue!
Thank you for your email. From Thursday 8th May 2025 the rate on our Four Access Saver (Issues 1 and 2) increased from 4.40% to 4.65%. Please contact us via the methods below if you require further support.
Shame I used up one of the 4 accesses removing funds when the rate dropped in March.
I had made two withdrawals in April so was relieved. Confirmed by WB by the way.4 -

@soulsaver
A few updates:
Oxbury Bank Easy Access Account Limited Edition 2 dropped from 4.58% to 4.32% two days ago so is no longer eligible for inclusion in the top 10(ish) list.
Buckinghamshire BS Online Single Access Saver 4.51% dropping to 4.26% from 1/6/25
Principality Online Bonus Triple Access Iss 6 dropping from 4.50% to 4.25% from 19/6/25
Kent RBS Iss80 4.50% £1k minFR NLA replaced by issue 81 at 4.36%
I can't seem to see any reference to the bonus rates for the Chip Easy Access `tri' 4.76% or Chip Instant Easy Access Saver at 4.6% so these bonuses may have been pulled?
EDIT: Also Chase 6 mth svr to fall from 4.75% to 4.5% on 15/5/2510 -
Email received from HSBC this morning with upcoming changes to interest rates from 21st July 2025.
Of interest is their Online Bonus Saver, which will see the bonus rate drop from 4% AER to 3.75% AER.
They have previously left the bonus rate untouched whilst adjusting the standard rate applied to the account (that's also dropping from 1.35% AER to 1.30% AER).

Chase reducing standard saver rate from 3% to 2.75% from 15 May. Booster rates remain unchanged.1
