Generally I'm the same, when I said emergencies I really meant unexpected/urgent shops, I have to do a fair bit for my Mom and I won't want to faff about transferring funds every time I need to pop somewhere for her.allegro120 said:
Chase was the best for EA savings when they launched 1.5% account until others followed the suit by offering better rates and since then Chase has never offered the top rate. Even when the boost brought it to 5%, I kept my EA money elsewhere @5.2%. I always have some money in Chase Saver, but only a small amount for easy internal transfers because I use Chase for cashback. I like their model, like the app and probably will never leave Chase, but won't use Chase Saver as my main EA account until it will get to the top of the table again.[Deleted User] said:
Yeah most of mine will go in the morning, prob leave a few quid in for emergencies.Valley73 said:
I don’t think so. I have just moved my funds out. It seems loyalty counts for nothing today![Deleted User] said:
I wonder if a mass exodus will lead to Chase at least bumping it back up a little. Wishful thinking!refluxer said:
Yes, the 1% boost on the Boosted Chase Saver account that was launched around June last year (IIRC) ends today.liger said:Is today the last day for the boosted chase interest rate? so move the savings tomorrow when the rate goes down?
As you say the cashback is useful so thats why I'll keep a bit in, but it will only be a bit. The rest is going into various EA or limited access accounts of which I have enough to be able to make regular withdrawals if need be.0 -
Feels like a bit of Deja Vu with Chase. Remembering when their 1.5% was a top EA and then moved money out when became uncompetitive and juggled the money in and out to get cash back, then back again with boosted saver and now back to moving money out again.I was hoping they might offer a renewed bonus but seems not.0

I got the same, however, mine downgrades on 8 March 2025, so do I now get a rate rise

One of mine downgrades tomorrow together with 5.12% Simple Saver. I'll distribute £15k across remaining three 5% Sunnies, but having a bit of dilemma about the rest. Looking through my endless list of EAs and can't find any better option than transferring the funds to Gatehouse's EARS (pays 5% until the end of this month). According to my notes weekend deposits to Gatehouse arrive on the same day, I hope my notes are not out of date.wiseonesomeofthetime said:

If that's the 12 month term downgrade can you not 'refresh' them for the 4.75%?wiseonesomeofthetime said:

Need to move away from Chase now that the boost is expired.
Does anyone know which providers use faster payments in and out of their savings account?
I'd like to replicate the functionality that I have in Chase where I can quickly move cash between savings and my normal Chase current account.
I'm tempted by Marcus. They are Which recommended and their FAQ says faster payments in and out of linked bank account. Anyone had experience with them?
Thanks0 -
Chase Savings AccountNow that I’ve lost my boosted saving rate with Chase I’ve moved my savings from that account, leaving 49p. Is there any reason to keep this savings account open?
I have a current account. I just can’t remember if this is one of the banks where if you close an account you can’t have it again, or if that only applies if you close everything?0
