Throwing my hat through the door and apologies for being missing.... again! My heads in a total whirl and I don't know how to start getting everything in order! Couldn't get to sleep at all the other night with my brain playing whack a mole with all the things that I need to sort out. Finally managed to make an appointment with the solicitor to get out wills sorted out... the current ones are over 30 years old!Tried to get my knitting machines (and all the related accessories and tons of yarn) picked up by Charity that sends them to 3rd world countries so people can make a living from them.... they're down south and no longer have anyone up where I am to pick them up... they suggested that if I was 'down their way' they'd be delighted to have them (wish I was in a position to do that...(wishing for the moon)Ants have found their way into my house! DS put the powder down and we didn't see any yesterday, but noticed some today - they're the little tiny ones, but I have really bad insect phobia, so hoping that we can get them gone!My 'craft room' (room of doom) is chock a block with stuff that need to be gone! I've arranged for a decorator to come in (august) (The whole house has to be done, so I|'ll be playing whack a mole with furniture!) and need to get the paint etc sorted out (difficult as I can't drive at the moment)Then there's the garden.... Arggghh!!Other than these things, and continuing problems with DH health, everything in the garden is Rosy!Grateful for DD and SIL being well enough to visit the other day, for doggy kisses and laughter.Sending (((hugs))) and well wishes for all who need them. Thanks @Starlight_at_Sea.

The day started well, with yoga & Norwegian practice. The morning of sports day went well, despite a heavy shower for 5 mins, but the afternoon was extremely stressful due to not enough staff/helpers. The teacher was at the finish line, so it was me alone, trying to corral 15 5&6 year olds, & get them in their groups for each race🤯
Pouring with rain when I left work, so couldn't even go for a stomp around the block to release some tension!! Did my 100 skips after tea, finally got round to putting money in my envelopes & balancing last month's spends, then watched TV & did some knitting.
Grateful that it stayed dry this afternoon during the races, that outwardly I looked calm 🤣, for getting some knitting done
Forgot to say yesterday that I received a lovely knitting book in the post, that I'd won in a competition 😃Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!

@Chrystal keep nibbling away at what needs doing and try not to be overhelmed by the bigger picture. I'm never sure whether it is better to tackle and complete one room or do bits here and there. I suppose at least if you focus on one area you see more progress.
@Thrifty_Taylor congratulations on winning a lovely new book! My mum always bought me one or two as Christmas presents when i was a teenager and I still love a nice book all these years later. X8 -
@Chrystal - maybe you can ask around and see if anyone is going that direction. It would be nice to get the knitting machines on their way. Or see if another charity is up in your direction and can arrange a pick up for them. Salvation Army or Mormon (LDS) Church might know of someone.

Thanks Nancy I'll ask around. There used to be one here as I gave some a few years ago, but it seems to have disappeared. It's a shame because there's all the gear that goes with them, ribbers, colour changers etc and I'm sure they would be welcome in the countries they send them to.

Still very limited access to the internet and my keypad keeps freezing so if I get on, there's no guarantee I can do anything (Ds3 said I seemed very angry and why was I hitting the laptop).
Lots of determined plodding. Many many bags to the recycling bins. I've nearly got my couch cleared, loads of floor space (except in the kitchen yet) and worked my way round the bed and am tackling the bit between the bed and the window. All in tiny bits as I stop when I'm breathless and/ or hurting.
Treasures uncovered so far include a favourite dress (never sure if they're outside, stuck in the pile of dried laundry or buried under piles of other stuff), my original bedside 'anglepoise' lamp (bought a second one so I have a pair but then couldn't find the original), 2 of Beloved's December presents, one surprise for daughter-out-law and 3 bits for DS2 (either small bits that disappear or things bought early, when I saw them), lots of pens, ends of toilet rolls/ kitchen roll from when I was ill plus 2 boxes of tissues, one unopened, various pages of accounts (found all the neatly filed receipts 2 days ago but not the pages of calculations I've done).
Also found the new laptop but have ordered a new cable as I can't cope with ultra limited access any more (3 part read books and many series interrupted).
Grateful for progress, nearly finalised letter to my brother (don't want to be confrontational but need him and my niece to be much more realistic - I have no rabbits to pull from hats), finding treasures.11 -

Chrystal I don't know which part of the country you live in but there is this in the Midlands.
National Police Aid Charity (npac.org.uk) They take most things that could be useful in Africa.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.9 -
I'd love to join - albeit a bit late. Real life is taking a its toll at the moment. DD2 is not at all well and we are having to fight tooth and nail to get an sense from the NHS, which means we are having to dig in to our meagre savings to fund some private appointments.
Step-mum still seems to be thriving at 97 years old. All she is concerned about is her trips to the hairdresser, getting her eyebrows done and a facial. OK for some ...
I shall probably partake in the challenge from the sidelines but it will be lovely to see how all the lovely Turtles are getting on! x9
