Good morning,
Good day so far. Did my rounds of the garden in the morning with a cuppa in the sunshine. Should be another NSD.
DS won an award for "their" efforts/merit in school (not keen on that new inclusive language if it excludes 98% of the population especially when directly referring to him/his name, not just a young person in general, but I'm just old fashioned) - sorry, side rant. Proud of him though.
Will do some lunch prep this evening, got some free Tofu and Tempeh from the freezer and will experiment.
Off to hit the gym for a rowing session with my colleagueDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/257 -
I keep getting emails and texts about <<registered pupil name>> who has not attended school today.Really unhelpful when it could be one of two, but was more unhelpful when it could have been one of four, and then they claim they never sent it.It probably just means they only have to fill in one item and not have to change he to she or she to he, thereby giving them more time to studiously ignore whoever is waiting for recognition at reception.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

NSD 4 for me today! Did my morning pages. No exercise done, trying to rest my chesty cough but I could have done something... oh well.
- Grateful for:
- A negative covid test
- the prospect of a weekend away with pals who I haven't seen since New Year
- Like Dr Carrie I am also grateful for being able to sit in the garden with a coffee... will miss this when I go back to Madrid.
- cough starting to subside (hopefully)
- a fairly easy work day (so far.. don't jinx it!!)

I'm a bit old fashioned in that respect as well. I suspect we're just getting a tad too politically correct in quite a few areas. Not wishing to offend anybody but everybody is equal.
NSD No 4
Today I had a good effort at tidying, etc but it's becoming more and more obvious that whilst I've been not so well things have got really out of hand. Gave the fridge a really, really good deep clean. I'm surprised we haven't both had food poisoning.
I am having a bit of a problem with a child who is in my neighbour's class at school. He's been bringing his friends here to ask for chocolate/ biscuits etc. That's not the problem exactly but my neighbour thinks he's been coming into my house and helping himself. We don't lock the door and I think she might be right. I've started locking the door (really hate doing it) and her husband had a stern word with him yesterday. I think he's thinks it's smart and he's showing off but if it's not nipped in the bud who knows where it could lead. Anyway, I'm normally a very placid person but I can be scary as he will find out if I have any more of his nonsense.
So, exciting news. The Boy and his Lovely Girl have had their offer on their dream home accepted. Couldn't be happier for them.
Love to everybody and thanks for all your support. xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
Today I am grateful for picking a pound of rasps from the garden, for Pip finishing his exams, for pottering on with my marking, for some sunshine, for a large piece of furniture leaving the house.Toni'sfriend - whoop whoop! for the Boy's offer being accepted!Shrewbie - don't you find it rather chilly over here?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

Great news @Toni'sfriend!
Happy 26th anniversary to us 💒
Woke up early to get DS3 up for his work placement, did my Norwegian, then yoga & woke DS1 up for work. Why is it that an alarm can be going off right by their head, & they still don't hear it?!
A much better day at work thankfully. Stopped for diesel on the way home. A customer came round to drop sewing off, including an 800 tog coat for when he's trekking up mountains in Nepal - do you think he'd notice if I borrowed it to wear to sports day tomorrow? 😂 Wet & windy here all week, & forecast for tomorrow too...
Watched Corrie with DS1 before he went to work the evening shift. Went for a walk with DH after tea, haven't been that way for a while.
2 sewing jobs done after returning, followed by an argument with DS3!
Grateful for seeing a black bunny in a field on my way to work, plus a hare running alongside my car, a good day at work, reaching 26 years of married life, a nice walk despite the shower of rainUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Good morning,
yesterday wasn't an NSD after all because I picked up 3 items I got fixed at the tailors. Really need to start learning how to use my sowing machine properly.
I was knackered after that rowing work out yesterday and my colleague will drag me along again today. But it felt so good. Unfortunately, my evening wasn't as productive as planned. Ate the big frog though and cooked some protein rich lunches with the tempeh and tofu (made into some Thai style curry with loads of veg).
Probably have some chicken potato combo for dinner tonight. Will also fill next weeks money envelopes (freezer and fridge still pretty well stocked so won't need the big shop this weekend) today.
Gratitude:
* homemade bagels from a colleague as a thank you
* free custard doughnut for after lunch from my old team
* 10 hour sleep last night
* rain for the gardenDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/256 -
Ah @Toni'sfriend that sounds a little intimidating, even if it's not intentionally so - a good idea to nip in the bud and signpost for support if needed I would definitely not want to meet you in fierce mode! Well done on regaining bacterial control of the fridge too, my dad is a bit like Himself in that regard, clean but not *clean*!
Well done on frog-eating @thriftylass and congratulations on your anniversary @Thrifty_Taylor I hope sports day hasn't been a total wash out!
We're a week into June fellow turtles! I wish you all success with your endeavours.
I am enroute to the big city to catch up with some dear friends for a long awaited (their) birthday bash. Share of accomodation and event (abba-inspired) paid for yonks ago. I didn't pay for my train ticket in advance as I really wasn't that sure I would make it, and decided a short notice but split fare was easier than a likely cancellation..I spend a lot of time cancelling things at the moment! So am on the slow train, chugging up to the city, and snacking on various left overs from last week's adventures. Not one but two thermos mugs of tea with me!
I have had a couple of unwell days when I felt pretty wiped out which have helped contribute to 3/7 NSD so far. I don't think today will turn into one, but it's just the tube and dinner to pay for, so is at least planned! I have bought some sachets of dehydrated oat milk with me but forgot the tea bags...so I will need to pop to the supermarket after all.
Minimal progress made with the various 'frogs' that are rapidly outgrowing their ponds and becoming bothersome! Am burying head until Tuesday on one that requires legal paperwork to be completed, and have everything I need with me to begin to attack the other. On matters of houses and possessions, have coralled more stuff to be in the right place, and the building/tiling work is finished in the flat! (expecting invoice for that anyday!). It looks great, will be more durable, and easier to clean!

Thanks, Starlight. Said child has not been seen since neighbour's hubby had a word. I'm becoming more and more convinced that he has been sneaking in and helping himself.
So I've been plodding on. Cleaned the cooker. Needed it nearly as much as the fridge. And the kitchen bin. Thank goodness my Mother can't see all this. Bedding changed and washing all done. Himself "helped" me change the duvet cover. I despair. He really is hopeless.
Made some soup for dinner. Ages since I actually cooked anything from scratch.
Baby steps!!!Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10
