Happy big birthday for tomorrow @f0xh0les! I hope someone makes you a cake & they all spoil you. You've achieved so much in your first half century, nothing & noone holds you back. Hope you test - in the morning, as an added bonus 🤞🎂🎉🥳
Congratulations on racking up your savings @Shrewbie, feel very proud on your achievements this year 🎉
The kitten is called Tabitha, she's nearly a year old now. My son's friend, who doesn't have a happy home life, asked us if we'd take Tabitha in, as she'd (the cat) been thrown out of the caravan they are living in, (their house is being renovated). Our other 2 house cats have got upstairs today too, so been some hissing between the 3 of them through the gap in the door!
I've had a lovely day, weeded a raised bed after hanging the washing out. Altered a suit jacket at the shoulders & cuffs, then after tea I did my skips & cut the grass. DS3 got a lift home, so I sorted some things to donate to a jumble sale at the end of the month. Another NSD
Grateful for, time in the garden, getting the jacket done, time to read my book, feeling content
Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Hectic weekend, spendier than usual due to going out for a meal with relatives we don't often see, who were in the area on holiday. Under normal circumstances, I would have simply asked them round and cooked them a meal, but it is what it is. It was lovely to see them, and likewise our 3 children, who all came to see us for Fathers' Day, with various partners and children in towNothing spent so far today, but I will probably buy some things for my brother this afternoon. This morning I went to the bathroom shop to choose the tiles and flooring for the ensuite bathroom that is being renovated next month, then to drop off some stuff at the CS. I also popped in to the shop where I work and had a cuppa with friends, so a nice morning. This afternoon I need to check the banks, do some watering / feeding in the garden, go and see my brother and cook some dinner. Very little shopping will be needed for us this week, as I bought loads for the weekend and we have lots of things left. So hopefully a low spend week. And a good thing too, with the bathroom to pay for shortly! It is being done mainly due to leaks that have actually damaged the plasterwork in the main bathroom below, which will also need to be done, but no point till all potential leaks are prevented. It is also very old and dated - we didn't have it redone when we bought the house. There was so much other work to be done that we decided it could wait. Anyway, it is being done in a few weeks, and I am looking forward to it being niceI might put some washing on as it is sunny and windy. I have a few delicate quick wash things that could be pegged out this afternoon if I get on with it!Grateful for seeing family over the weekend, home grown veg and fruit, and a sunny day after all the rain.7
