NST June - Turtle Power

I haven't seen any football. Between laptops atm - old one is staggering on, new one is up and sort of running (stumbling) but wouldn't let me have my email. It made me have a new one because someone already had the other one (yes it was me) so things are a bit patchy. 4 bags to cs, lots to various bins, wrote a letter to my brother, didn't like it and wrote a shorter version. I've been out of the house 3 times this week - some medical stuff (breast screening was cancelled as their equipment wasn't working, rescheduled for next Friday in the x-ray department so no portakabin stairs to negotiate.

Grateful for next door's yard being sorted (but not the devil trees) - I let them use my green and brown bins and a shovel, getting some seedlings/ young plants potted on today (3 out of 4 x 60 l bags of compost used), making progress despite brothers and sons (DS3 did bring my sack of cans back upstairs, added Beloved's bottles, asked if I had any more and then decided to put some clothes on and take them out to the bin himself).

Today I am grateful for being inside a big marquee at the fair I was at, for seeing lovely people there, for a good workout while Pip climbed, for dh doing some more clearing for tomorrow's delivery, for dh cooking tea.

Was too tired to post last night, but another NSD. A good day at work, though loads of injured children to attend to in the afternoon! Must be Friday madness! 🤣

Instead of my normal Friday night of doing something for me, I decided to finish altering the Indian outfit by hand. Watched more if a series & half a film with DS1.

Today I still woke up early. Write my shopping list & headed to town. Got £1 off my L1DL shop cos Scotland scored a goal (a pity they didn't score 10, so I could get £10 off!), also had £1 off at the Coop, so bought some if the crisps in a tube to snack on our train travels next month.

Had a nap after putting the shopping away, then weeded a big border & listened to the sounds app. Did my Norwegian in DS1's room & cuddled with the kitten we've taken in. Watched TV & did some knitting.

Grateful for the kitten settling in & purring lots, a good day at work, finishing the outfit, time in the garden & pancakes for dinner 😋, oh & that we're a football free household too!

NSD No 8

2nd game of the day just about to start.

I've been dog sitting my for my neighbour whilst she hosts her daughter's,10th birthday party. Do 10 year olds really get their nails, hair and make up done for a party? God, I must be getting old.

Had a bit of a tidy and made a fish pie for dinner. Other than that I've been a bitty lazy but lots of plans for tomorrow. xxxx

I have had a chilled weekend. Glad I did not go to a work party on Friday so I could have a good rest. Had a breakfast out this morning, a bit spendy but nothing compared to my jaunt to blighty. 

Did TAW morning pages this morning after a week of not doing them... annoying as I'd got to week 7 and then the hen-do threw me off. Would like to finish the 12 weeks. 

Grateful for reaching EUR 20k in savings unexpectedly early as I forgot the extra salary payment would land in my account mid-June! (annual salary in Spain is spread over 14 payments) woop!!

@Shrewbie congratulations,  reaching 20k is awesome. 

@Thrifty_Taylor oh I loved the kitten stage. Luckily ours came litter trained.  But their claws are vicious and it's a bit freaky when they lose their baby teeth all over the house,  lol. Love their clumsiness and their love for cardboard boxes. 

We had two, now 3 years old,  but lost one in the storm last October. We're thinking about getting a puppy at some point.  

We're on our 3rd game. Anyway,  spend day again today,  need to look back but might be on 8 NSDs. Had a lovely fancy fathers day dinner and a lazy day.

Hey @thriftylass - your  planned debt free date is only 6 months away!   Well done with that, you are doing brilliantly.

@Shrewbie - you will be a property owner in no time with that attitude to saving.  You are doing brilliantly as well.

I am still, still testing positive for Covid.  Was hoping I would be free today, but no. It is not to be.

I will reach half a century tomorrow. I am blessed (but no kittens here )

Evening turtles 

The footy is on in our house, I tend to keep one eye on it and one in my book, I find it's a good strategy. 

Today I've done 4 loads of washing, including a rug. Kept them indoors as weather was questionable this morning but probably could've got them out later on. Went to see my share horse, ride was a bit rubbish as we inadvertently stumbled into the local Race for Life which was very very scary!! 

Got some vegan morrocan meatballs and normal ones on the go in the slow cooker today and cooked some lunches. Did a few small jobs around the house including some aquarium maintenance. All in all a quiet day but ticked everything needed off the list.
