    I note that this is back!  System does at least grey out the last thread read but one still has to scroll up the page to get to the next unread thread!
    Update - I always go to the very last unread post so I am reading and responding to the oldest, otherwise they are in danger of not being read (by me).  Just checked and, if you start at the first post in a series of treads, the system works.  Surely most forumites would want to go back to there they were, after reading a particular post!
    Just returned to where I was before writing this post and, lo and behold, I was taken to bottom after reading a post.  I seems to matter where the post is in the list of unread threads.  If it is more than halfway down, it takes you to the bottom, less than halfway it takes you towards the top and it seems to be where you left off.
