Glad it isn't only me who needs to use all their syns to lose weight. I am trying to use them all but it doesn't seem to be working - guess it will have to be wine at the weekend to use some up rather than my usual G&Ts! That of course means I need to buy some next time I go shopping as haven't got any in the cupboard!
My shredder's like your @Jellybaby at the beginning of January each year when I shred all the previous years bank statements/credit card statement etc! Definitely has to be done over several days to avoid the overheating and also to save my back with all that bending over to feed the paper in.
Are your Boston baked beans home made? What recipe do you use - presumably in a slow cooker?

joedenise said:Morning all, it's a bit overcast this morning but at least it isn't raining although it did overnight. I had the best night's sleep I've had since DH came out of hospital - a full 6 hours uninterrupted! Definitely feel a bit better for it.
I need to pop out to the farm shop to get some onions as hadn't realised when I went shopping yesterday but we only had one onion left and used that last night. As we've got curry tonight definitely need one for that - can't have a curry without onion! Also taking my friend to her Dr's which is just past the farm shop so will go there first and go into the shop on the way back.
It was WI morning today and unfortunately I seem to have put on just over half lb (0.6lb) but no idea why unless it's because I haven't had enough syns again! Will definitely have to write them down this week to see if that's the problem. It's really annoying when I was so close to target range last week!
Today's plan:
B - feta cheese omelette (feta needed using up)
L - cream cheese and smoked salmon bagel
D - butter chicken and rice
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
Syns - LF feta (about 10g extra) 1; LF cream cheese 1; butter 5
Does anyone else struggle to have a full 15 syns without adding in alcohol (which I certainly don't want to do every day and have an alcohol problem on top of trying to lose weight!)?
Have a good day everyone.
How did you do bagel and cream cheese and stay within syns - or better yet how many syns?
I always struggle to keep to the alotted syns, there is just not enough syns.
I am still having big bowl of cereal for breakfast, I am not sure how I am going to change this habit...this is my next step this and lunch. Lunch was better today - wholemeal bread and salmon and cream cheese.

@HotDog2020 - the New York Bakery seeded bagel thin is HEB (have to admit they're not particularly filling!); you can use Primula Light as your HEA if you want although I'm synning some ordinary SM low fat cream cheese and of course smoked salmon is Free and Protein so the whole thing can be used on a SP day.

Hope your car is sorted @Jellybaby.😊
I don't think there will ever be enough syns. 🤣 After all, the majority of synned foods are either things that should be treats and/or eaten in moderation. It's probably having too many that made us gain weight in the first place.
As you know, I prefer to keep most of mine for wine at the weekends so I've worked out a way to eat fairly syn free all week. I think that's why you're finding it difficult to use yours @joedenise and @Jellybaby becasue you've been used to keeping them for wine. I suppose the choices are between having some treats like chocolate or biscuits or crisps or extra cheese or using some up in meals like having lashings of butter or cream .
All I can suggest @HotDog2020 is that you make choices/prioritise based on whatever is your absolute favourite way of using syns. I rarely eat cereal except, as a sort of ritual on WI day as it's my lightest, smallest, least filling breakfast. I'd prefer to have something else like a cooked breakfast but if you don't have time to cook then just have the recommended portion of cereal with loads of fruit and yogurt on top to fill you up. For my lunches, unless I've got leftovers from dinner, I have mainly jacket potatoes or omelettes. I keep 2 or 3 jars of pickles on the go so I've always got plenty of Speed to have alongside them if I don't have salad stuff in.
The weather forecast was wrong here today and it's not raining!!👍🏼
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, scrambled eggs, ham (P), tomatoes (S)
L- JP (F), cottage cheese and spring onions (P,S), pickles (S)
D- chicken casserole (P,S,F), cauli and broccoli (S)
Syns- cornflour 1

joedenise said:@Mrbowie - McCains jackets are 0.5 syn each. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but your HM crisps have to be synned as if they were bought ones so about 5 syns!
I seemed to remember a lady bringing some in shed sprayed with frylight and microwaved them, when I used to go to group and the leader said syn them for 1/2syn if only having about 25g.
Obviously it's changed?
Thanks for the heads up

@joedenise yes I do the beans in the slow cooker. It’s a Slimming Foodie (Pip Payne) recipe I found online. I’m not fussed about it but DS enjoys it.0
