Well done @Jellybaby - STS is fine. Enjoy your meal tonight and well done on volunteering to drive so no alcohol involved so lots of syns saved there.
Well done @maman on your nearly lb loss. Are you nearing bottom end yet? Haven't eat yet but about to go and cook the curry and rice.
@HotDog2020 - roosts are just grated onion and potato squashed together. If you're grating them in the processor make sure you do the potatoes first as they will need squeezing out to get rid of the excess water. It's best to do it in a J-cloth or similar (or an old tea towel). Once both the onions and potatoes are grated just mix together and then squeeze together to make potato cake shaped pieces. I've never frozen them but can't see any reason why you can't if you want to. I just make enough for the one meal and then fry in a frying pan. Once the bottom is nice and crusty gently turn over and cook the other side.
I think I'd tend to cook them if I was going to freeze them as think they might break up on defrosting if you you haven't. If you do freeze them, please let us know how they turn out.
I think I mentioned before you can make a huge rosti, cook the bottom and then turn out onto a baking sheet, top with pizza ingredients and then bake in the oven.

Just a quick one for the moment.
I subscribe to the Tastefully Vickie emails and this came in this morning's email:

Thought it might be useful after the talk of rosti over the last couple of days!
Back later.2 -
Right, back again! Good morning. Looked like it was going to be nice today when I opened the blinds but just had a short shower and of course I had a couple of hand washed things on the line but as it was quite windy they're not far off dry so fine to hang up indoors! The sun has now decided to come back out but we're forecast more showers later.
We had some heavy rain too on Friday night @bubbs but not the thunder you had but it was heavy enough to wake me up and I'm not the lightest of sleepers!!! I'm sure you'll lose that 2lb this coming week - it always surprises me when you put on weight as you just seem to eat so well and within syns. Maybe you didn't actually have enough syns this week - that's when I seem to put weight on!
Has anyone had the new booklet which is being given away to anyone who signs up for a Countdown or weighs as a target member (that makes a change in itself!)? Saw it on the SW blog.
Today's plan:
B - fry up with bacon instead of sausages
L - LO doner kebab meat, salad, soft pitta
D - toad in the hole, roast new potatoes, green veg
HEA - milk
HEB - soft pitta
Syns - flour 4.5; sausages 2; maybe a mini mix lolly 6
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all, another rainy day! I think I will do some sewing today. Had a lovely day at the festival yesterday Patrick and Esme's talk was very interesting.
I'm planning today's food 😋, also using up bits from freezer, just made some carrot snd coriander soup for tomorrow's lunch.
How would I go about syning a slice of pizza 1/8th of a 10" margarita if I class the cheese as HEXA?
😊0 -
I think you'll have to check in your book @Mrbowie to see what it says is average and then go from there. I don't think you can really use the cheese as your HEA because it will be a mixture of cheeses usually and not all cheeses class as HEA and also different cheeses are different amounts.
