    Hello all,

This week has been really odd food-wise. I am planning to attend group tomorrow to do Pay x 2, but probably won’t weigh, which will mean a back fee when I do (or re-joining eeek). I’ve been quite emotional this week, DH is not in a good place and we have been bickering which has not been pleasant. We have put the house on the market and have two viewings booked in for tomorrow. The house we saw a few weeks back is still for sale. I reckon DH will go mute if it goes under offer!

I managed to snaffle a Lidl fruit box at lunchtime. There were 4 available – mine has oranges, lemons, easy peelers, apricots, an avocado, plums and bananas. I will gift the apricots to the SOTW basket tomorrow. The others will form a nice fruit bowl display for the viewers tomorrow as I cleared the bowl this morning!

Has anyone tried the SW Kitchen food delivery service? Some reviews from our group members are that the portions are big and food very tasty. Works out dearer per portion than the Iceland frozen meals but nicer/better quality. I don’t think it’s for us, but can see it working for some people.

    Food today:

    B – fruit and fibre, 0% protein yog (coconut/vanilla), blueberries – HEB, 0.5, S

    L – Lidl vegan sushi, cheese portion, pretzel(!), a whole galia melon(!!!!) – 1, HEA, 13.5, S

    D – jkt potato, tuna, ltl mayo, salad – free, 1, S

    HEA – milk

    Snacks – 4 finger KitKat(!!!!!) – 10.5

    Total syns – 26.5 – shocking

Hi do you mind me asking where your protein yoghurt is from? I love coconut yoghurt especially if its free 😋

Good morning all, so far so good! I'm doing well on the bread front. I've just seen these and a girl at work scanned it for me on the sw app it's says 12 syns for 85g.
There's 4 in a pack each weighing 35g so am I right in thinking it would be around 5.5 syns per piece? They work out at 111 calories each.
    Thanks

Hi all, congratulations @bubbs that’s a fantastic achievement 🎉🥳 and good loss!

@Coxy11 hope the house viewings go well and all calms down a bit for DH. The bungalow we saw yesterday was lovely but right at the top of my budget which would leave very little to do the work I’d want to do. It wasn’t on a bus route either with no shops around so if I couldn’t drive for any reason I’d be stuck. That kinda sealed the deal to walk away.

@Matron_Midge you lost after four days so I’m sure your meal out will be fine as you’re back on plan now.

I put a wee half on this morning. Disappointed but know these things can happen and I just need to plod on and it will hopefully come off next week 😞

Had banana and coffee in group and about to defrost the last portion of tomato and red pepper soup for lunch.  I’m going to make beef koftas with roasted veg and salad for dinner.  I’ll have a soft pitta and DS will eat the two posh flatbreads I bought (was going to have one until I scanned the packet. At 20 odd syns each 😳😳 he can have them!). Will use some syns on avocado and hot sauce.

Well done on the loss and Congratulations @bubbs👏👏👏👏 on Diamond Member of the Year.  Well deserved.

Shame about the bungalow you viewed @Jellybaby but I think you've done the right thing by walking away.  I wish we'd done the same when we bought our bungalow.  It's been OK up to now but I dread the future when we can no longer drive as we live at the top of a cliff on an unmade road which is absolutely awful to walk up and down with all the potholes!  The bus service is awful and finishes about 6pm so no way to go out in the evening without spending a fortune on taxis - currently it's £35 into the nearest town - about 10 miles away so makes it a very expensive night out by the time you add £70 on top of whatever you're going out for!

@Mrbowie - I'd say 5.5 syns is about right for that bread so not too bad for bread and as long as you enjoy it worth the syns.

    Today's plan
B- blueberries, strawberries, grapes, Issey yog 1/2syn. 10g low sugar granola.-2.5 syns
L 1 wholemeal slice, bacon medallions, cheese (HEX A) stress and melon
D Lavash bread halloumi Tom's peppers onions rocket lettuce spinach cucumber ff yoghurt and mint
Sw chips 5.5 syns lavash had to get full fat halloumi as they didn't have light so using 6 syns for 40g

    HEX A skimmed milk
    Water
    Total 14.5 syns.
I think the penny has dropped this time with sw hopefully.
    Thanks for all your help.

Congratulations on your award and on your loss @bubbs! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I agree with @joedenise, you were right to walk away from that bungalow @Jellybaby . We bought our house because it has great transport links. This suited us commuting for work but also because the girls could get around the city by public transport so we didn't have to ferry them everywhere. They're long flown the nest but we still have all the benefits. The building work we're having done is partly to future proof it for us with the option of an extra downstairs bathroom and bedroom should we ever need them.

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time with DH's mental health @Coxy11. Perhaps getting involved in the house sale will give him a focus. You're doing the right thing to stay in touch with your group. Hope the viewings went well.

That cottage pie sounds really luxurious @Matron_Midge, but the extra syns compared with SW friendly cottage pie sound mind blowing. Glad you enjoyed it though. I never resent syns that I enjoy. I always top mine with HEA cheese and use wine stock cubes for a rich flavour, not the same as your friend's but it helps.

I understand if you've got full fat mayo to use up but the Lighter than Light really is a good substitute at 0.5 syns for a tbsp.

If you're going to make chilli @Mrbowie , I can recommend the Hairy Bikers recipe. I do mine in the SC and it makes about 8 portions.
Chilli con carne - Recipes - Hairy Bikers
I adapt it slightly by leaving out the flour (I find it thickens enough without it or sometimes add a handful of red lentils) and using a wine stock cube and adding in extra Speed veg like carrots, peppers and mushrooms or courgettes or baby corn. Lately I've been making a meat free version by adding a couple of extra tins of beans. You can add some cheapo baked beans including the sauce alongside your red beans and something else like chick peas or butter beans etc. I still use beef stock for flavour as we're not vegetarian.

We're having chips tonight as DH ate them in the week with no ill effects. I'm going to do a freezer inventory later too as I'm starting to not trust my current list as I don't think it's completely up to date. We're not sure when the kitchen will be out of action but I want to be sure I have plenty of HM ready meals available.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, eggs (P), baked beans (F)
    L- JP (F), keema curry (P,S), salad (S)
D- baked cod (P), SW chips, mushy peas (F), tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli (S)
    Syns- weekend wine😊

@maman it’s hellmans light Mayo as that’s all I could get and it’s 2 per tbsp so 3 tbsp in the mix for the two of us gives me 3 syns. I’ve tried everywhere for LTL Mayo - Hellman’s is 1 per tbsp now, don’t know about other brands- but to no avail 😢
I’ve just planted up my greenhouse. Hoping to have a bumper crop of cucumbers and toms 🤞🏻🤞🏻
my gooseberries are almost ready so I’ll have to pick those but they have to be cooked because they are a bit tart. Maybe a crumble using oats as my HEb one evening.

That's for the update about the Hellmann's LTL mayo.  Didn't know it had increased from 0.5 to 1 per Tbs - that's a big jump!  It's getting very difficult to find the LTL mayo - I tend to buy 2 or 3 at a time when I find them but I do wish I could find the jars of them rather than the squeezy bottles as so much of it ends up getting wasted.

My red gooseberries are ready but are a bit tart so I added some sweetener to them when I cooked them to make a food with some FF greek style yoghurt.  We had half for pudding yesterday and we'll have the other half tonight.

Think it'll be another 3 or 4 weeks before the green ones are ready.  I've got lots of flowers on my cherry tomato plant but no fruit yet but only 2 or 3 flowers on the beef tomato plant.  Hopefully I'll get a reasonable amount of fruits - I only bought one of each this year (haven't got the space to have trays of seedlings about the place).  Last year I also bought a salad tomato one as well but we had far too many tomatoes.
