I use whole eggs as I don’t like waste but might be nicer with just yolks.
4 eggs, 2 lemons and sweetener to taste - I like it sharp so around a tbsp.
Keeps in fridge for 3-4 days but mine is long gone by then

Morning all, it's another bright day and probably about the same temperature as yesterday which was very pleasant and not as humid as when it's hot!  Can't believe I forgot to buy eggs when I went shopping yesterday so need to pop out again today just to get some (@bubbs which I lived near to you!!!).

Well done @Matron_Midge.  That's a good loss straight back from your holiday, IIRC it was only 4 days wasn't it?

Well done @Mrbowie - today's plan looks much better.  Have you managed to get plenty of Speed foods into the bolognaise?  Along with the usual onions, tin tomatoes I usually add chopped mushrooms, peppers, carrots and anything else I've got in the fridge that I can chop up like courgettes!  Means it's not a true bolognaise but it's very tasty!

Have to say the new recipe I tried for the minced beef hotpot last night was really tasty - it was a BBC Good Food recipe from the website.  Next time I make it I'll add more veg like I do to bolognaise.  It stretches a pack of mince a long way!  I think it could be varied quite a bit by the use of different beans.  This version included 2 tins of baked beans but think it would work well with a couple of tins of mixed beans or some white beans and kidney beans etc.  The recipe says it serves 5-6.  I don't know if my potatoes, onions and carrots were much bigger than the recipe but I've actually managed 7 portions for the fridge plus the 2 we had last night!  I know we're not big eaters compared to some but they were good bowlfuls!  DH said it would be nicer with a lump of French bread!!!  Have to say it's a really easy thing to make and I think I could quarter the recipe and then make it when we're away in the motorhome as it's a very easy one pot meal.  You need a very large pan to cook this in - I used the base of my 6l pressure cooker and that was a good 3/4 full!  Would probably work well in the slow cooker too!

    Today's plan:

    B - breakfast hash
L - toasted cheese sandwich, pickles, pickled onions
D - Fakeaway KFC, chips, beans, corn on the cob

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - Gooseberry fool 1 (using how grown gooseberries but they're a bit sharp to eat raw!); couple G&Ts maybe

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, where is summer?! We had torrential rain last night and I’ve not put my tins and plastics bin out in case it blows away!

Well done on the loss @Matron_Midge especially after four days is fab going.

@Bubbs I need to move in with you for a couple of weeks 🤣 your meals, especially burgers, would suit me just fine.

Food shop went well yesterday with mother but no bargains alas 😁. Meeting a friend for coffee shortly then DS and I are going to view a bungalow this afternoon.

    Today’s food:
    B- 45g bran flakes, strawberries, yoghurt 0.5
L - baked potato, cheese HEXA, salad, pickles
D - steak, chips, roasted onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, carrots

I’ll probably have a couple of Bliss bars at 4 each to use up some syns as I’ve plenty spare.

    Have a great day everyone.

Thanks everyone. Yes, it was just 4 days on plan.
Today might be a little off plan as we are going to a friends house for dinner this evening and I have no idea what will be on the menu. At least no wine because I offered to drive - go me, hubby asked if I was Ill 😂🤣
so far today my food has looked like this
    Hea milk
    Heb soft wm pitta

B plain yog with pomegranate seeds and a banana
L Toasted pitta with tuna, Mayo (2) spring onions and cucumber.
D no idea but will just assign my other HEa and all syns to it and just suck it up.she always lets us serve ourselves and she is an excellent cook but does use butter, cream and cheese liberally (probably why her food is scrumptious)
I seem to remember the analogy about 21 roses and not throwing them all out because one has drooped so I shall keep that in the front of my mind to prevent me from having a “stuff yourself Saturday” and “s*d it Sunday”
enjoy the weekend when it comes xx

    Hello all,

This week has been really odd food-wise. I am planning to attend group tomorrow to do Pay x 2, but probably won’t weigh, which will mean a back fee when I do (or re-joining eeek). I’ve been quite emotional this week, DH is not in a good place and we have been bickering which has not been pleasant. We have put the house on the market and have two viewings booked in for tomorrow. The house we saw a few weeks back is still for sale. I reckon DH will go mute if it goes under offer!

I managed to snaffle a Lidl fruit box at lunchtime. There were 4 available – mine has oranges, lemons, easy peelers, apricots, an avocado, plums and bananas. I will gift the apricots to the SOTW basket tomorrow. The others will form a nice fruit bowl display for the viewers tomorrow as I cleared the bowl this morning!

Has anyone tried the SW Kitchen food delivery service? Some reviews from our group members are that the portions are big and food very tasty. Works out dearer per portion than the Iceland frozen meals but nicer/better quality. I don’t think it’s for us, but can see it working for some people.

    Food today:

    B – fruit and fibre, 0% protein yog (coconut/vanilla), blueberries – HEB, 0.5, S

    L – Lidl vegan sushi, cheese portion, pretzel(!), a whole galia melon(!!!!) – 1, HEA, 13.5, S

    D – jkt potato, tuna, ltl mayo, salad – free, 1, S

    HEA – milk

    Snacks – 4 finger KitKat(!!!!!) – 10.5

    Total syns – 26.5 – shocking

Obviously not going to group now I haven't tried the Kitchen delivery things but the consultant put on a post on Facebook of one of them and she'd got 2 decent sized portions and at least the same, if not more, still in the pan so definitely looks like decent sized portions.  I agree that they work out more expensive than the Iceland freezer meals but I don't buy those either!  I really don't do any ready meals or delivered ingredients!

That was a brilliant Lidl box!  I've never had one as good as that although I've had some decent ones.  They usually have both fruit and veg in them but it's a bit weird when you just get one potato or one banana or similar.

I certainly wouldn't worry about 26.5 syns in one day as suspect that you've had days where you've only had a few syns.  If you tot it up over the week you've probably had less than 105 for the week.  If you drank a whole bottle of wine it would be more syns than that - and I did that last week and still managed to lose!

    Evening all

    Thanks Beanie, it's tomorrow.

Jelly long way to come for tea 😂😂 Hope your viewing went ok.

Coxy, hope your viewings go ok tomorrow. Is DH's mental health because of the redundancy? Yes not nice if you are bickering all the time , hope you manage to sort it out.

Well in the end i made scotch eggs and pate 😂for tomorrow.

Much cooler here today, at least with the warm weather my hands are not like blocks of ice! They have been today 🙄although not at the moment.

    Food today

    Watermelon

3 boiled eggs, tomato, beetroot and pickles.

Fake kfc, half dozen chips and salad.

Well Dh's work are looking for 150 voluntary redundancies, he had asked for the details  and they are pretty good and we are in thoughts about it, he really does not want to work till he's 67 but he is also aware  it's 7 years till he gets his pension, yes we are lucky we do have some savings but they will soon go and they have to last a long time(hopefully)

He said he could always get a part time job, but the package is good compared to compulsory.

He does not even know if they would accept him anyway as only 2 of them in the warehouse but 150 have to go across the uni, uni's are not in a good position country wide at the moment.

I said to him we would have to think, we won't be able to just have this, or that like we do now we would have to think about it more.

It will be what it is , so watch this space

Morning all, it's another warm one today!  Have stripped the bed and got the bedding out on the line, watered the garden as forgot to do it last night so needed to do it early before it got too warm.

@bubbs - if the figures work for you then redundancy, if it's a good package, could be great.  Since we've retired, even before we got our pensions (I did however get my work pension a couple of months after I stopped working) we don't spend as much on things like getting to work, work lunches, leaving do's and leaving presents etc etc - it's amazing how much those things add up to.  Didn't help that my season ticket for work was nearly £3K (think it's nearer £5K now!).  You definitely need to know what those figures are before making a decision.

Hope the viewings go well @Coxy11.  Not nice when you're bickering with DH and it's probably about nothing in particular but hopefully your DH's MH will improve soon.

    So onto today's food:

    B - fry up
L - pulled pork in BBQ sauce, salad in soft pitta
D - Hunters chicken, new potatoes, green veg

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - soft pitta
Syns - sausages 4 (different butcher's sausages!); cereal bar of some sort 4

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all. I’ve got a wash load in and hope to have it on the line shortly.
we had a lovely meal with our friends last night. It was cottage pie and veg. Sounds fairly innocuous but a cautious estimate comes in at 57 syns. Aargghhh. The meat was fattier than SW allow and she had made a roux to thicken the juices. It was cooked iwith red wine and the onions were sautéed in butter. Butter ooozed from the mash, it had cheese on top and was served with steamed, buttered veg. Delicious!
if I work to a syn bank, that leaves me 4.5 every day until Thursday so I’ll treat it as a flexi syn day and just carry on.
Don’t know what our plans are yet, or what my food plan is but I’ll update shortly.
