Well done your OH with the bargains, the man did well. @bubbs
Pleased to read that your OH is feeling a little better @maman.
@joedenise poor man that is too long to be with such minimal fluids, I bet he will devour the pies with relish later.
2.5 lbs off is a great result @Jellybaby, I agree keeping it going or indeed staying the same can be very hard for me sometimes.

Messy day here today, monsoon type rain storms this morning, but some warm sunshine now and then.
I have a disgusting head cold and feel pretty rough on occasions, better when out in the fresh air, no SW plan today, just what tempts me, some healthy, some not so.  The not so included a fresh cream scone when on the quest for bread and milk this morning, not sorry it was lush.
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)

    Evening all 😁😁

Denise, i didn't realise DH was going today for op! Hope it has all gone well and he makes a quick recovery

Maddie it was me that got the bargains not DH.

    Well done Jelly 👏👏👏

I lost half today so now 1lb below target.

Picky plate for lunch and pizza hexa and b, bns chips and salad for tea.

Yesterday i didn't have enough instant mash for my KFC so i mixed couscous with the instant mash and it gave it a nice crunch

Finally got home!  DD1 decided to drive to the hospital and we went back to her house for a cuppa and she brought me home after that.

Please to say that DH finally had his op late this afternoon and was back on the ward just after 5pm which was when he rang to say that he was back.  All seems to have gone well and he was able to move his legs quite easily before I left the hospital about 7.45pm (he had a spinal so had no feeling in his legs when he got back to the ward).

As he was so late getting back to the ward he didn't actually get any physio which is what is normally planned and what the Dr had told him in the morning when he came round.  That won't be until tomorrow now so I've got no idea what time he'll be able to come home.  DD1 has said she'll drive over and collect him with me but it really depends what time he calls as she needs to go out to check her beehives around 11.30 - her hives are about 15 minute drive from the hospital so that could work out quite well.

Well done @bubbs on another loss.  When you say you're lb under target is that your actual target or below target range?

Right I'm off to bed now as getting really tired after getting up so early this morning!

Morning all, slept reasonably well considering DH wasn't there which I didn't really expect although I didn't go to bed until 11.30pm in the end so was definitely extremely tired.

Not really sure what's happening today as DH won't be coming home after all.  Apparently his knee is more swollen than they would like so he's got to have it X-rayed and the hospital he's in will only do emergencies at the weekend so that won't get done until tomorrow.  He's also going to need meds from the pharmacy and they are worse than useless so they probably won't be with him until late tomorrow at the earliest!

I spoke to him a while ago and he said they were going to get him out of bed - this was actually supposed to have happened yesterday.  Hopefully the physio will also come and start on exercises with him and get him walking on a frame to start with and then onto crutches later.

Probably drive myself to the hospital this afternoon as not much point going with DD late this morning and hanging around at her partner's parents house until then - it's where she keeps her hives as they have a huge garden!

Back to SW things!  Not really sure what I'm going to eat today to be honest - I've got a pork joint out as was going to do a roast assuming that DH would be home but think I'm going to cook it anyway as can have it cold tomorrow.

Only thing I'm certain of is that I'm going to have scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast!

Will decide later what I'm going to eat lunchtime and this evening!

    Have a good day everyone.

Well done on your loss @bubbs.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 You'll soon be putting stones in your pockets!😂

I liked the idea of using some couscous for the fake KFC @bubbs, lowers the syns too. 👍🏼

Sorry to hear it's not going as well as planned  @joedenise. These things rarely do. Maybe tomorrow, when it's a proper working day at the hospital, you'll get a clearer picture. 🤗

Fun and games here this morning. I did a machine load and then had to work out how to get down the garden to the washing line. The driveway is closed off with builder's fencing which DH would usually move but I'm not strong enough. The foundations for the extension are outside the back door but currently under several inches of water because of all the rain. So there was nothing for it but to dig out my wellies and wade through with the basket of washing, pegs etc. 🤣

I batch cooked some more meatballs yesterday. They're just 2% turkey mince so ideal for DH's low fat diet. I'm really looking forward to my prawn cocktail later as I actually remembered to get some prawns out of the freezer last night.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, eggs (P), mushrooms and tomatoes (S)
    L- JP (F), prawns (P), salad (S)
D- chicken casserole (P,S,F), cauli, broccoli, cabbages (S)
Syns- LTL mayo 1, cornflour 1, weekend wine😁

Looks like it might be all change at the hospital now!  Apparently when he saw the physio he was happy for DH to leave as he was walking OK on crutches but obviously also needed the Dr's OK.  His X-ray was OK and he's now seen the Dr and he's said he's OK for discharge as long as his blood results are OK but of course they haven't come back from the lab yet!  He's also waiting for meds from the pharmacy, presumably antibiotics and painkillers but they didn't even open until 11 today.

Assuming his bloods are OK and his meds arrive from the pharmacy I'll be bringing him home after all this afternoon/evening.

You made me laugh again @maman imagining you plodding down the garden with the washing in your wellies!  Still at least you managed to get out there and hang it.  I've washed the mats from the motorhome and the door mats and have them hanging on the line.  Hope it doesn't rain while I'm out - it's not forecast to but you never know!

Decided on a ham salad for lunch so at least it was on plan.

Was going to do roast pork for tonight but will leave that until tomorrow.  Think I'll just get something out of the freezer for tonight, possibly the bacon & leek risotto I cooked a couple of weeks ago.  In fact that's what I'm going to get out of the freezer right now so that it can defrost.  Even if DH doesn't come home then they'll still be another portion and I can have that for lunch tomorrow!

I know where you're coming from @joedenise with the will he/won't he. I went to the hospital on the bus on Thursday as the parking is so awful. As I got there, they said DH could come home. I got back on the bus and waited for a couple of hours until the meds were sorted and then drove back to hospital, phoned DH from outside and then he jumped (exaggeration there 😁) in at the pick off point.

It's OK for me as I'm fit and have the options of bus, car etc and the hospital is close to home it's no picnic for others.

On SW news, the prawn JP was delicious. I was tempted to take a photo but too late now as long gone. 😋😋😋

DH is finally home!  We got home about 3/4 hour ago.  Most of the time was waiting for meds, clean dressings etc but finally able to get away about 4.30pm.  Glad I was parked reasonably close to the exit as I had to carry a load of stuff to the car, get a wheelchair and then go back and collect him and wheel him out to the car!  Not easy with guy much bigger than me!  He's over 6 ft, just glad he isn't massively overweight!  Apparently he needs to shift a bit though as his BMI has gone into the Overweight category but that's mainly because he's not been doing much exercise for the last year or so because of his knee!

No way I can get to the hospital by bus @maman!  Where I live there are no buses at all on a Sunday and to get to the hospital I'd have to get 3 or 4 buses and it would probably take me something like 4 or 5 hours depending on connections!!!!  Trouble with living in the middle of nowhere.

Glad you enjoyed your prawn JP.

Glad to hear that Joe is home @joedenise and well done on your efforts with the wheelchair and all the stuff. You must be exhausted. 🤗

I just went to put butter beans in my chicken casserole which is usual recipe. I didn't have any so used cannellini beans instead. What's odd is that there is more protein per 100g in baked beans (7.8) than the cannellini beans {6.8) but SW list the latter as P but not the baked beans. Doesn't make sense. 🤔

I need to check if I have any dried butter beans and batch cook some.
